First time here to play trivia with host Jason. We loved the vibe and atmosphere. I've played trivia at other establishments but really liked the format here! Music is played after each question which may have a hidden clue to answer!! Very interactive and sooo much fun!! Great food and many beer Taps and full bar!! This may be our new local hangout spot!!

Chose this place for our team building event for work. There were 14 of us and we split into two rooms. Both teams had a lot of fun and really enjoyed working together to figure out how to get out. Sadly, my team didn't escape but our other team members did. We didn't eat but we did drink at the bar prior to entering the room. The game master Phillip was a great host and game master. Planning to come back here again with my family to do the other room that I didn't get to do. Thoroughly enjoyed this and can't wait to do it again!

Whether you're going for the escape room, or you're ducking into the bar, Escape Folsom is great. There's a delicious coffee shop hidden inside too, and Sunday afternoon features challenging pub trivia worth playing. The bartenders are friendly, there are tables inside and out, as well as seating at the bar. Don't like the idea of being locked in an escape room? Let your friends or family do it while you wait in the bar with food and drinks. The food is great too -- a step above pub grub, and very tasty.

Came here to check out the food and bar area, we plan trying the Yager's Tap House room, when we come back, this trip was all food and drinks. Now we like to eat so we had a large verity of the menu, started with Grilled Mushroom Sliders, Pulled Pork Sliders, Pesto and Tomato Flatbread, Both Sliders we tried each Fries - Loaded Fresh Fries & Escape Fries, and lastly we had the Escape Butcher Board. The Pulled Pork Sliders - Seasoned slow roasted pork, house-made sweet and smoky BBQ sauce, white cheddar cheese, pickles toasted brioche. Grilled Mushroom Sliders - Balsamic marinated grilled cremini mushrooms, Monterey Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Balsamic Aioli, Toasted Brioche. Escape Fries - Shoestring potatoes, bacon, roasted garlic, parmesan cheese, garlic oil, chives. Loaded French Fries - Shoestring potatoes, blue cheese, bacon, blistered tomatoes, green onions, sweet chili oil. Pesto and Tomato Flatbread - House-made basil pesto, white cheddar, blistered grape tomatoes, fresh basil and parmesan cheese, mixed green salad, classic citrus dijon vinaigrette. Escape Butcher Board - Assortment of cured meats, hand-crafted seasonal fruit, almonds, house made crackers. Also the owner or one of the mangers had the Dozen Mini Donuts, and was so kind to share with me and my boyfriend however I did not let the boyfriend have any they were too good - Can not say no to Mini Donuts. Everything was excellent, it's a great place to just hang out for a few bar sneaks if your not looking to try and escape the rooms. There is however two different rooms right now, the Yager's Tap House, and Escape the Prison, word is the Yager room is the harder of the two so if your looking for a challenge then you may want to choose that option. I cannot wait to try the Yager room and have a great time with friends, Challenge accepted!

This is my new favorite place to meet friends in Folsom! We can grab a bite to eat. Enjoy a craft beer or glass of wine. They even have two escape rooms with three more on the way! Did I mention that they are family friendly? The bar staff is very friendly and made my 6-year old son feel right at home. I would suggest getting 8 friends together and trying both escape rooms. One is a very detailed jail and the other is an 80s bar. (No spoilers, good luck.) We talked with the owners and can't wait to see the other three escape rooms they are working on right now. Book your escape room at www.EscapeFolsom.com ahead of time to avoid finding out when you get there that they are sold out for the night.

I got the Brussels Sprout Hash!!!! Only $8

My organizing group and I were looking for an establishment to host a social to the augmented reality game called Ingress, the first game made by Niantic who also made Pokemon Go. Ingress is a GPS location based game where two teams are pit against each other to claim territory. The aim for this Ingress First Saturday event was to being the two teams together for some friendly light hearted game play. When Jim was contacted to ask if we can host, he seemed very excited to host us. Our events usually draw 75-100 people and Escape Folsom definitely had enough space for us. Jim and his staff was very accommodating to us while we were setting up for our event as well as all throughout the event. The place is very clean and there are two levels. First level where the bar is has your typical bar seating as well as separate tables as well for eating. The second floor that you go up by stairs has a small lounge area with more chairs and sofas. They have a lot of different selections of spirits and their food is delicious. I personally recommend the Pulled Pork Sliders! Jim made hosting this event very easy for us and the food is great. I would definitely come back to this place!

Ask the Community - Escape Folsom

What is the difficulty level of each game? My husband and I are experienced Escapers and find the Yager House theme more interesting, but would gladly do the Prison room if the puzzles are better.

We are a non-linear escape room experience with no big-box puzzles. Everything puzzle you solve in each room is built and designed by our game masters. Both rooms are very challenging, but we have been told that Escape Yager’s is more of a test for… Read more

Their rooms are always incredibly immersive, with puzzles that actually make sense, flow well, and deliver those amazing "wow" moments Red Door is known for. I've completed all the rooms at the Concord location, so I had to venture out to try a different one. My siblings and I chose the Taken room, and it was both challenging and a ton of fun. The difficulty level kept us engaged the entire time, and the experience felt exciting from start to finish.

Probably more than 25 locks across the different scenes. One of the combination locks had letters so worn away it was very hard to read, so we spent 10 minutes with what we thought were the correct letters, only for a staff to point out that we had it on B when we all thought (4 of us looked at it) that it was on R. The paint on the B was worn off so it looked like an R. I told two staff about the letters being worn away, and neither of them seemed to care. Had they just said "Thanks for letting us know, we'll look at getting a new lock" that would have been good customer service. There is another review here mentioning "apathetic staff" and I think that's exactly what I experienced. Staff should inspect those items, in the dark as customers experience it, to see when things are worn out so as not to be readable. Not being able to see or read the objects should not be the challenging part of an escape room. Replacing a $5 padlock is better than a customer having a bad experience (with the room and with the staff) and never wanting to come back again. Overall, again this was my first escape room experience, but when the puzzles almost entirely rely on combination locks, that to me doesn't seem very imaginative. Granted it's not easy to find all the combinations, but it gets kind of boring keep figuring out letters and numbers for the sake of opening locks. If I ever do another escape room, I'll probably try it at a different business.

Ryan was our host today, and he was very patient. At one point, we moved too far ahead of the game, and was pretty lost. He helped pause the clock, and moved a few pieces around to help us backtrack. There were still a few pieces of the puzzle we had to solve before moving forward. Thanks for the assist Ryan, we appreciate it. We tried The Heist this time, and would absolutely recommend! We played with two adults and two kids. I think we asked for help/clues 7-10 and escaped with 3 mins to spare. I would probably say 3-4 adults would've been sufficient for this game. Will absolutely be back for another visit. The price is $43 a person. Kids 5 and up were the same price as adults. 4 and under are free. It's on the pricier end, but they will price match with Groupon! Book ahead would be recommended.

He was knowledgable and kind, he made us all very comfortable and amped the kids up for their first escape room ever. Top Notch employee! The room itself was intricate and well decorated, we really felt out of Roseville, under the sea. The puzzles were fun and interactive. Both the kids had a blast figuring out what to do and what they can get their hands on. I was worried they were too young but that wasn't the case, I don't think my husband and I would have escaped without our kids help. About $40 a person, not the lowest pricing but honestly, it was worth it. Great fun. Great puzzling. Great memories. Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to come back and try another room!

When I called, I was told it's best to make a reservation & pay ahead of time due to how many boys I had, but I decided against it and took the risk because I'm not generally on time, & luckily, it worked out! He even gave the boys a little extra time while us adults finished up with our session- which we decided to get on after seeing all of them! It was overall, a great experience, with a really nice host. Photos: are all from one side of the room. There is another side, which my siblings & I were at. As far as "booking a party" I would advise against it. I didn't book a party, just showed up as soon as they opened (10 people total). Had the place to ourselves, gladly. But I did peep in the 1 room they called the "party room" & it's a haaaaaaaarrrrd pass. The other reviews here on Yelp about to party room area are accurate af! That's all I will say about that .
