Nassau County is SOOOO STRICT about being a resident to enjoy their rec. facilities during "prime time," but after hours/off season, come one/come all (well, sort of...) Beautiful beach, LOTS of space, MUCH less built up than its neighbor to the west (Long Beach) and added bonus the awesome, unique, "space age" picnic pods!! On a beautiful Saturday evening, we had the beach almost to ourselves at about 6/7pm. Walked a few shoreline miles in each direction and wondered how I was EVER going to return to "landlocked" Ohioooooo a few days later!! Questionable "exclusivity" aside (I think the OCEAN belongs to EVERYONE) this is a beautiful place!! ENJOY!!

The park has basketball courts, a pool and a store for food supplies. This is definitely a relaxing place to bring your kids for the day. I totally understand families who rent the cabanas for the summer. So many people and kids all having a great time. The beach is not a far walk but I opted out of the water for the day.
