My Shade Store experience: After personally visiting the Shade Store, I made an appointment (two weeks out) for a late day visit and measurement. A few days later I also received an email from someone named Zach Gibbs, claiming to to be the owner, thanking me for the business and offering to reach out with any questions or concerns. Shortly before arrival time on the day of my appointment, I received a call from the Shade Store informing me that their technician was running late and requesting a reschedule between 4:30-7:30PM that same day. I agreed and my wife and I then arranged our schedules to accommodate their request. The revised and agreed-upon time came and went with no visit - and no call. About a week later, I received an automated email inviting me to reschedule the appointment "I had missed". Instead, I replied back to Page Morris, my salesperson to inquire and complain about what originally happened. In return, I received what seemed to be a sincere apology, an offer to return and offer to remediate, which I accepted and thanked Page. When another appointment still had not been scheduled after about another week, I followed back up again with Page re-requesting the appointment. No response. I did this two more times. An additional two more blow-offs. I then followed up on the email from Zach Gibbs, thanking him for his original email and explaining to him what happened, and also letting him know I'd be taking my business elsewhere at this point. No call, no follow-up email. Short story:if you want to waste your time, be made empty promises and be ignored - The Shade Store is your place! read more

We spent $12,000 on motorized blinds, and trying to get support has been a nightmare. It took over a month of back and forth just to get on the schedule--calls, emails, multiple follow-ups. Their team was nearly impossible to reach. When we finally got an appointment, it was a month out... and then they canceled it the morning of. Now we're pushed another month down the line citing technician availability. It's looking like based on other Yelp reviews, this is their MO, so stay away. One of the blinds has been stuck in the down position for months. And to be clear, we've barely even used these. The blinds tend to stay open, and we only lower them on especially bright days. They aren't used daily, so there's no reason the motor should already be failing. For what we paid, this level of service is unacceptable. Once the install was done, it's like we stopped mattering. Would not recommend. You could go with something like blinds.com for half the price. read more

I was very pleased with my experience with The Shade Store. Ask for Page Morris. She was very professional and helped make the process as facilitated as possible. I had just one shade installed in an area of my home and she permitted me the opportunity to take different samples home to see which color and type would work best for my design scheme and set up at home for this window. The shade arrived in the mail on-time and the installment by the guys this morning was seamless, quick (in 24 minutes), and they were very professional. They also wore masks. Vonda at the Howell Mill location was amazing to work with to take care of our window treatment needs. We went with a combination of motorized, solar, blackout, and light filtering treatments, and she was able to explain the pros and cons of each and gave great recommendations. Vonda also kept us updated on the status of everything in a timely manner throughout the whole process. We are very happy with how everything turned out! The installation team also did an excellent job making everything look neat, and even spent time getting the motorized hub hooked up with my phone, as well as explaining how to operate everything and how to charge the motorized blinds. There were some slight technical difficulties getting it set up with the hub, but they stayed for extra time to make sure it got resolved with their IT support. My only concern going into this project was that between the solar, blackout, and light filtering options, "exact" same colors of fabrics aren't available between the different types if you were to mix them as we did. We went with a slightly darker shade of gray for the blackouts, a gray/stone for the light filtering, and a slightly different gray for the solars. Even though the gray hues are slightly different between the types, they still look great going from room to room and even adds some unique character! That was really our only concern, but we are extremely happy with how everything turned out! read more

And he did an outstanding job putting the shade back together. We've had our shades almost 8 years and they're still as beautiful and functional as when we bought them. You never knew that there could be so many things to decide when installing shades in your home. Sure you can go to your local Home Depot and get things that are just mediocre, but when you're in your forever home and want things a certain way, it sometimes pays to have it done professionally. I'm glad that we found the Shade Store. We came over the Howell Mill Road plaza which has a ton of furniture stores including the Shade Store (and when you're done shopping you can go to Jenis!). We were promptly greeted by Georgette who was our shade specialist. Extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We came in not knowing a thing and they walked us through the entire process and gave us a thorough explanation of all the various styles we could choose from. We talked about roller shades, roman shades and drapes. How do we make something black out and what fabrics do we need to consider the space that it will occupy? All these details that you probably didn't think too much about. I would suggest that you bring pictures of the windows that you hope to cover up and a reasonable idea of the color scheme you are looking for. Remember though that with all this professional help and quality, this is going to be much more expensive than shopping from your nearest hardware store. Their fabrics and fabric patterns are superb even the lower tier items. Once you order everything, they custom make it and ship it to your house. You have the option of installing it yourself or having one of their professionals do it. Unless you're super handy, I suggest paying the extra amount to have them come over and do it. We ran into a few snags along the way but Georgette was on top of it and had everything sorted out for us. Low stress and amazing work. Very, very pleased with our experience at The Shade Store / Howell Mill Road Atlanta store. Just walked in one day and met Kalin, who was amazing throughout the whole process of design, fabric selection, timing, communication, payment...everything. Then on the installation day (done exactly on time) John and AB were also amazing, diligent and perfectionist at their craft. Our window treatments from The Shade Store were installed today and they were exactly what we anticipated. We worked with Frances on the selection and design of the window treatments for our entire house, approximately 30 windows. Frances was extremely​ knowledgeable​ and patient with us as we made each selection and changed our minds several times. We ordered everything from roman and solar shades to ripple fold and grommeted​ drapes. Everything was delivered exactly as we ordered and within the time period we requested, as we were traveling. This was the absolute worst nightmare EVER. If it were possible I would give them 0 stars. First they had to come out and measure 3 times because they could not do it properly. When the shades arrived some were still the wrong size despite having been measured 3 times. The installers were the most inept individuals I had ever dealt with. The shades slide from side to side in the mounts and when we asked why the reply was "They all do that." WRONG they all DO NOT DO THAT. One other shade was 1/2 inch short, their excuse was that was the largest size they make them if we center it you will hardly notice...NOT!! Their "solution" for the shades sliding in the mounts was to drill another hole through the shade into the window frame, not a solution at all. Fortunately we paid with American Express and they stopped the charge although the Shade Store refused to refund the "installation charge" of over $1,000. They said they would make an appointment to come out and remove the shades, that was 4 months ago. DO NOT BUY from the Shade Store. The shades are of poor quality, the installers do not know what they are doing, and those that were sent latter to try and fix issues did not have any real knowledge of shade installations. Add insult to injury each shade had a plaque on the bottom rail of the shade that said "The Shade Store". read more

Although I love the quality of the shades, getting them installed has been very difficult. The installers assigned to my account only work Monday - Friday 9-4:30 so trying to find a time that works for them and me was almost impossible as I work downtown and so does my husband. I also travel for work. Amazingly, I was inadvertantly copied on an email from a customer service rep saying really ugly things about me. I am an interior designer and recently tried to work with the shade store on a high end project. The shade was more than $2000.00 and I was shocked and horrified about the quality. The shade was taped together with double sided tape and the fabric was not sewn at the edging either. Tape was used to finish the shade. The fabric had a raw edge with lots of threads sticking out. Completely disappointed and complained and they sent a replacement. The REPLACEMENT was the exact same - taped together with raw edges. Seriously? If you put tape in a window it comes undone! Run away - there are so many better and less expensive options out there. read more

We recently purchased woven wood shades from The Shade Store. I searched online and requested sample swatches from their vast selection. The samples arrived in a few days along with a catalog. The next step is to find a company to do the measurements. Annie was quick to refer us to several independent company. There was a sale going on and Charles Jeffries came out the next day . Then he emailed the paperwork to The Shade Store that same day. Annie from the Shade Store answered several questions and quickly emailed us a quote. Annie went above and beyond, working while on her vacation to answer all our questions and give us her professional opinion when asked. I must say I had a great experience with the Shade Store from my first visit to the end. Francis was great with helping me to pick the correct shades for my home and Tyler was great with the install. I must say Tyler was at my home not on time put early and I was over an hour late because of a accident on I85. He waited and was very understand that it was out of my control.
