But now I can also vouch for Amy's when things go wrong! I purchased a fairly high-end Janome machine from Amy's, and the day after I got it home, an important component broke. I was devastated, but when I returned to the store I was immediately assured that the machine would be repaired or replaced. Within a week, I received a call to come pick up a new machine. Amy said that she felt that I, as a consumer, might worry that something else was wrong if they did a repair, so they worked with Janome to simply replace the machine. I might have expected to be treated as an inconvenience, or been sent home with an iffy product. Instead, I was even offered a gift card to compensate me for the inconvenience of having to wait! That is what is meant by exceeding customer expectations. Imagine what my experience would have been if I had purchased my machine on line! Nothing can compare to working with a good dealer. And Amy's is, simply, the best.

I was completing a shop hop and they only had 2 of the 10 hop specific fabrics. So a bust in trying to buy said fabric. The workers were unfamiliar with the shop hop fabrics. They also were unfamiliar with specifics on other lines of fabric in the store- aka "Do you have any other fabrics with this bolt? Is this fat quarter available on a bolt so I can buy a yard or two?" There is a wide selection of fabric panels. They have a huge classroom space and several models of sewing machines and long arm quilt machines setup. It was a nice store but there are a lot better options out there price and selection wise both in person and online.

He ended up leaving his row by rows on the counter and walking out. I had a similar experience last year where I waited ONE HOUR for the one person working to stop talking to the customer in front of me and ring me out. I deliberately waited to see how long it would take them to do it. They have a great selection of fabric and might sell it if they were so inclined.

If you're looking for early Americana stuff they got it, if you're looking for the latest Tilda fabrics they have it. A lot of places will specialize just have very modern fabrics and batiks, this place has that and 1930's prints. It has notions, and batting. And long pull bag zippers. And a lot of by Annie patterns -- love those bag patterns! Pittsburgh has lost a lot of of their quilt stores, so this is a bit of travel. It's an hour to get there, but Trax farms is nearby, and they have a pretty epic deli, and also just over the hill on the next big road V&V Scratch Kitchen. Both really good places for lunch, V&V is a little bit more expensive.
