I appreciated as well that the instructor on duty checked in with clients throughout their experience to ensure the beautician was providing quality results. After every practice, he sent thoughtful, detailed notes that were such a joy to read. He always highlighted our son's progress, spoke so positively about his potential, and made it clear that he truly cared about helping each student grow. Those updates meant so much to us as parents. The owner, Michael, is also wonderful to work with. He's incredibly hands-on, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of both the students and the program. You can tell he pours his heart into creating a positive experience for every family. I had to file a civil suit against the school for unrefunded tuition. A check was cashed from my student loan after I quit going there and the director wouldn't return the money. It was a nightmare! The director also played favorites and was completely unprofessional and trash-talked other students. It felt like high school or something. The school itself sucks too. The teachers walk around looking like bored, drugged-out zombies with absolutely no ambition to be there. The school's equipment was about 40 years old and looked like it had come from a swap meet. I asked beforehand what the graduation rate was and the director told me 99%. With a student body of 30, and 5 students that I knew about that DID NOT graduate, that's an 80% graduate rate. The director can't even calculate simple percentages. And the price to attend the school was raised to some ridiculous amount. Last I heard it was $17,000+. Pretty steep when you can just go to Empire for a little more than that and everything is clean and new. NEVER AGAIN!!! I suggest looking into Empire beauty school or another one that's more reputable. Update: I read an article in the paper that the school had burned down. Maybe by a disgruntled student? Empty gas cans were found nearby. I guess karma is a bitch.
