Specialties
At The Sensory Studio, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential in a supportive and compassionate environment. Our dedicated team of speech, occupational, physical, and feeding therapists is inspired by Dr. DeSimone's vision of providing exceptional, family-centered care to children throughout the tri-state area.
We are proud to foster a collaborative and nurturing environment where our highly trained therapists are empowered to deliver individualized, evidence-based therapy tailored to each child's unique strengths and needs. By partnering closely with families, we strive to build confidence, encourage meaningful progress, and help every child develop the skills they need for lifelong success.
At The Sensory Studio, we're more than a therapy practice—we're a community committed to making a lasting difference, one child and one family at a time.
History
Established in 2016.
Our founder, Dr. Michele DeSimone, sought to create a welcoming environment for families looking to receive therapy services. We opened our first official Studio facility in 2016, 1173 Forest Avenue. We proudly introduced our internship program, offering an opportunity for those who share our passion to gain hands-on experience. Due to increasing demand, The Sensory Studio expanded and moved to a more spacious and accommodating facility, 445 Forest Avenue. This move allowed us to better meet the needs of families and create a motivating environment for children to meet their goals. We opened our doors to graduate students seeking fieldwork placements, providing guidance to aspiring professionals. To extend our reach & accessibility to families across Staten Island, we opened a second location, 225 Richmond Hill Rd. The overwhelming love & dedication poured into our work resonated with families & professionals, leading to the introduction of our third facility, 8 Johnson Street.
