The same groomer who has done my dog this time,,,, almost criminal it was so bad. The charge was $70.00 and I gave her a$20.00 tip as I had for our groom earlier that year. I get so upset every time I think about it. It was dark outside and I didn't realize how bad it was till I got home. I called and spoke with her Dad who is the owner and shared with him how disappointed I was and asked if I could at least bring her back in so she could have her nails trimmed,,, I was told that wasn't possible. First time today with my 17 year old Cairn terrier Betty. Since COVID and my regular groomer decided to retire, I have been trying out several local groomers and finally I've found the best groomers in Cowlitz County. They truly know what they are doing and love dogs. Reasonably priced, they take the time to discuss what you want and have 14 years experience. I love my dog and finally I've found groomers who really care about her as a senior dog. God bless and keep them all doing what they do, caring. read more

Love, love, love how my pups turn out every time! They listen to my requests and have done wonders to the hack job committed by other local groomers. My dogs are not stressed when I pick them up and they know the exact history and each dog's special needs! Thank you for being in our lives and making grooming so stress free! We had an end of day appointment. Our dog was a little matted. But instead of cutting her hair short and combing out, they shaved her bare! I told them if they had to do some cutting it was okay, but never would I have wanted her shaved bald! She was unrecognizable. Truly unrecognizable! We all initially question whether or not it was truly her. I think because the appointment was 1 1/2 hours before closing, they chose to shave her bald so they didn't have to do any comb out so they could close on time. They should have called us, we would have been more than happy to bring her back another day when they had time and would have paid for any extra time needed, done it ourselves or taken her elsewhere. I will never bring our dog back here and I would strongly urge anyone not to use them. Anyone that would do that to a dog, can't care about them. Our family was in tears! This business is very rude. We took our cat Max in several years ago for just a nail trim. They were good and reasonable. Had to change a few appointments due to personal illness and then they were very unaccommidating. Just called to try them again and were told to call back to speak to the cat groomer. The person who answers acted like she never heard of her and said we don't take anymore cats. Very poor customer service. Very rude! Don't waste your money This is in response to my past review and your answer. We did bring our cat MAX in along with our dog named Little Girl At your location on Ocean Beach Hwy . You all made a point to point out that because he was a good cat you only charged us $10. He is a Tuxedo cat. Then things happened health wise with my mother and we had to change his appointment a few time. Obviously that made whomever angry and when we tried to reschedule we were told it would be at least a month. We looked everywhere to find another place but no one was taking cats. Neither is Pet Works by the way whom you are still referring people too. We really loved coming into you guys but understand that you no longer take anymore cats . Perhaps if that had been conveyed at the first phone call then we would not have wasted your time and ours calling back to talk to the groomer. But not the case! We were VERY RUDELY told we don't take anymore cats. Work on yours and your employees handling of the public. Had we been told nicely the first time then I would not be writing this review. Most professional groomers I have seen anywhere. Their level of expertise is unmatched, in my own personal experience. This isn't your basic grooming place. The Savvy Dog is aptly named! This is a full on salon! I swear, they can do ANYTHING. A family-owned spa, that's what it is. With roots and a lifetime in the dog show industry, these people take quality service to a whole other level. Yes, it can be difficult to get a quick appointment, because everyone wants to take their dog there, for good reason. Make your next appointment before you leave, would be the smart choice. Would give them a 0 star rating if I could. They are currently an access point for UPS package deliveries and are extremely rude to people when you go in there to get your package. I will never be back. I had called last friday for an appointment and had to reschedule so the lady I'm assuming the "mother" rescheduled me to this Thursday between 6-7 she stated. So I called ahead of time today and said I was bringing only 1 dane in for a nail trim instead of my two and the man said, "ok see you soon!" I get there and he walks in back then comes back to the front and says, "my daughter (savannah) is not here. She left early for dinner with her daughter and that rarely happens." Meanwhile trying to find a new appointment time and states, "I'm really sorry you weren't on the schedule." Very unreliable and I will never attempt to take my dogs there again. read more

I have a Kerry Blue Terrier, and that little guy has never looked so good. He comes home looking like a champion show dog. For one thing, they don't fool around with clippers, leaving a line around the dog that always looks so tacky. No, it is scissors and skill all the way. I'm very impressed. read more

We brought in our dog for a grooming and trimming and she has long hair and is very beautiful. When I picked her up they had shaved her all the way to the skin and I could not even recognize her except by looking her in the face and that she was excited to see me. They never called to let us know that they did not think they could trim and comb her out, just shaved her so bad that she was literally unrecognizable. I was so upset when I picked her up that I left because there was nothing I could do about it at that point. My entire family was in tears and feel like our family member was abused and treated terribly. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of caring and compassion would truly scare me for anyone else considering using them in the future. I noticed they were selling CBD for animals there as well which by the way is a drug and would be best sold by a veterinarian who could talk with the owner about all options for pain control for their animal. This is the worst experience I have ever had by far with any of my animals in my life and my family is going to have to live with it for months! read more

I cannot recommend the groomers at The Savvy Dog more. I have a little devil dog who is a horrendous groom. The ladies at The Savvy Dog took pity on me and have worked with Cosette for over a year. In that time she has improved and grown more comfortable with the process. I know that this is because of the dedication, patience and experience of the groomers. Cosette always comes home looking great!! The shop is super cute too selling lots of toys and treats.
