I was previously sponsored under The Miramas Group, which also operates as Texas Broker Sponsor and…read moreis affiliated with 1st Brokerage. Ron Miranda is listed as the owner, and Serena O'Gwin-Miranda oversees operations and agent communication. I closed two referral transactions on August 29th and September 5th. I submitted documents through their portal and again by email, but there were long delays and very limited communication from the brokerage. Multiple emails went unanswered for weeks, and I was never able to reach anyone by phone, including the broker. I spoke to a former agent who said they never received their commission. I cannot verify their experience and am only referencing what was communicated to me directly. Due to the lack of communication, I eventually had to involve an attorney, and payment was issued only after a formal demand letter. One commission check was initially issued to the wrong entity by the receiving brokerage, so I mailed it to Miramas on October 9th. Based on email correspondence, the check wasn't sent back to title until roughly a month later, which contributed to the delay. Back in June, the brokerage asked me to pay $400+ for "HAR/TAR/NAR dues." Later, when I joined a board directly, neither HAR nor MetroTex had any record of dues paid under my name. HAR also told me they were not the brokerage's primary board, so dues were not required. I requested an itemized invoice from the brokerage several times and did not receive one. I cannot speak to how the brokerage allocates dues internally. This is based solely on what HAR told me in writing and by phone. Advice to other agents:If you choose to work with this brokerage, request written confirmation of all invoice submissions and keep detailed records. The portal they require doesn't provide confirmation and contributed to delays in my case. This review reflects my personal experience as a licensed agent. I recommend asking about payment timelines, communication expectations, and fee structures but they are much better options out there. Serena O'Gwin-Miranda also hosts the Let's Talk Motivation podcast, which focuses on themes of leadership and professionalism. My experience with communication and follow-through at the brokerage did not align with the professional standards emphasized in that content.

She and the seller…read morecame to an agreement with us and our agent to purchase the house at asking and not to further accept any other bids. This was a verbal agreement. This was Sunday night, July 6th around 6pm. My wife, kids, and I were excited, celebrating this "would have been wonderful" purchase and new chapter in our life. We went to sleep that night. Monday, we went to work as normal expecting to fill out all paperwork in the evening as soon as we got home. But our realtor texted me to rush paperwork over to Renee by 6pm. So we are filling out paperwork and by 5:30pm, less than 24hrs of our verbal agreement, she texts our realtor and tells him that they have decided to go with another buyer! What about our verbal? Reason: because the seller got nervous because they had not received our official offer. We got the paperwork back to her before 6pm. But she refused to accept the offer. After some discussion with our realtor, she decided to "submit" our offer. Less than 24hrs, we went from excited and elated to sad, frustrated, confused, and angry. We were told both offers were comparable, but we were not asked to counteroffer. I am still confused. It doesn't make sense that we were not even asked if we wanted to increase our offer. It was just a done deal. The seller made their decision. And now what we thought would have been our forever home belongs to someone else.
