By far the cleanest thrift shop I have ever been to!! The staff and Volunteers are incredibly…read morefriendly and the selection of goods are incredible and the prices more than fair. You will never walk out empty handed. I expect to be back very soon

My mother recently passed and I was looking for a good place to donate her items. I wanted to…read moredonate to a Women's Shelter or to Ukrainian refugees but I didn't have what they wanted/needed. You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. Thanks everyone at MCC for making me feel better about giving away my Mom's beautiful, but space consuming things.

Very disappointed and frustrated. I bought my daughter some pants, and I knew that it is only cash…read moreonly when the purchase is under $5 so I told the lady at the register that I will quickly look for change in my car. It was first thing in the morning and I was the first person in. I came back in and said I don't have change so I will quickly look for an item so I can use my debit. She asked me how long I was going to be because "we" are holding up the line now. I told her to go ahead and cancel my transaction and let her go next. She said she is not "allowed" and will need to wait for me to shop before she can move on to the next. She asked me how long it take for me to shop. I told her to to forget about it and left. I will not be shopping here anymore. This interaction made me feel that the stores procedures my fault and my responsibility. Also I'm sure she can cancel transactions as she would need to do so given I chose to leave the store in order to make any other future transactions. This store has not been welcoming for awhile. You have to put your drinks up at the front as if the store is a high-end brick and mortar. This is a thrift store.

Even though this store has changed ALOT over the years since I last lived in Leduc I will still pop…read morein the odd time when I am in town and visiting my mother. Some of the changes have been positive and other leave a lot to be desired. They made the move several years back next to the Tim Horton's and Sobeys which has helped a lot with the parking issues they had over at their prior location. (not enough stalls and getting stuck in snowdrifts in winter) The larger location has also allowed them the ability to take in more donations making it so there is more items to go through when you are in the store "treasure hunting". The biggest issue they have right now is also alienating them a lot from the community. In the last few years the prices have gone up almost double on some items and whoever prices their brand name clothes has no idea what they are doing. Yes I am more then happy to pay a little more for a Roxy hoodie but not when the decal on the front is worn and the string is missing. With the recent improvements made by their competitor Salvation Army I am really not sure how much longer these folks are going to be around. I usually stop in once a month and sometimes when I go I will see the same items for sale that I saw the month prior....definitely not a good sign.

Unfortunately, after today's experience, we will not be returning…read more I came in with my two children and a friend. We had shopped here previously under the former ownership and always had a good experience. On our last visit, my children were told the washroom at the back was the bathroom they could use. Today, I saw no sign indicating it was now off limits or employees only, so my 9-year-old daughter understandably thought she could still use it. When she opened the door, the young woman working came from the front of the store and aggressively yelled, "Excuse me! That bathroom is off limits!" My daughter was startled and embarrassed. I tried to explain that we genuinely didn't know because it had previously been available to customers, but she was dismissive and walked away. I went to the front to explain again why my daughter had made the mistake and was interrupted with, "Well, this is new ownership now!" in a very confrontational andrude tone. At that point, I said we would no longer be purchasing the items I had already set aside and would be leaving. Her response was, "Good, I don't care." When I said we wouldn't be back, she replied, "Good." To be clear, I had absolutely no issue with the washroom being off limits. There was another washroom available across the road. The issue was the completely unnecessary way my 9-year-old was spoken to over an innocent mistake. A simple, "Sorry, that washroom isn't available anymore," would have been the end of it. Instead, what should have been a completely insignificant misunderstanding turned into an unnecessarily hostile interaction. I certainly won't be back, and unfortunately I can no longer recommend this as a worthwhile stop to friends in the vintage and thrifting community.

If I had to highlight my favourite clothing store in Edmonton, I wouldn't have to think twice about…read morechoosing Swish. I've been shopping here for a quite a few years now, including at their former downtown location. The owner and her staff have done an amazing job making the space feel like a welcoming treasure hunt. They always happy to offer suggestions if needed or allow you to browse on your own. Since everything here is one of a kind, I have my best luck when I'm not looking for something specific. The price range is extensive - you can find regular priced dresses for $50 but they also sell some luxury designer items for $1000+. Truly something for everyone. If you're looking for a deal, I recommend keeping an eye on their social media and looking out for their blowout sales.

They have a lot of vintage designer shoes and clothing, fur coats, wedding dresses, just so much good stuff. Do yourself a favour and look in the drawers and bowls to find even more stuff. My favourite purchase from there is still 80s cowbow boots that I get compliments on every time I wear them. I love the owner Angela, she is really open about where she does her collecting and is a super interesting lady. A chat with her and a gander in Swish always a treat.
