I was not impressed at all with their prices. For used item they are pricey especially if they get there inventory from donations. They're selection is massive. I only explored about five percent of the store. I found this jacket that they were selling for $20.99 and cost co is selling it for $14.99 (on sale). I had to do something about that price!!! I asked the front desk to look up the real value of the item. I don't recommend this store. Winners /Marshall's wells cheaper items than this store.

A bit smaller than the Whyte Ave location but it has a great selection of clothes and goods. Nice and clean inside. There is a donation drop off zone outside. A large parking lot services the strip mall so you should never have an issue with parking. I like this store as it is way less busy than the Whyte Ave location so that makes the shopping experience a bit better.

I tried this location today because I was driving past. I…read morewanted to look around, but mostly I wanted to exchange a small item from another store. The place was slammed at 5:00pm. I grabbed another item for the exchange. Exactly what I wanted. I had a wee look around. I was shocked to see a whole shelf of brand new Winter boots. NEW!? They get new stock? Another thing that struck me was the clean, orderly, odour free stock. Lovely. At checkout, my line went very fast. A young, friendly cashier was just pumping it out. When the shopper in front of me needed the manager for a price check, I thought it was going to be a long, torturous wait. Not so. The manager cleared up the sale in record time with a smile. I also needed the manager to approve the exchange. He did it in seconds flat. What a nice guy. He even gave back my change in cash instead of a credit note like other V.V. stores. I saw this same manager working the registers and helping out like a manager is suppose to do. Even chasing after a Mom who dropped her diaper bag. I am shocked because I have been a frequent V.V shopper for many years and have avoided this store because it is in a sketchy part of town. I will not judge a book by it's cover any longer. The neighbouring Dollar Store is my next revue for the same reason.

You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. The St. Albert location recently opened this fall (2014) in the old Rona location across from GoodLife Fitness. It's as bright and clean as any thrift store could possible be. They have a drive up section, where you ring a doorbell, to drop off gently used items (VV gives back to charity every time you donate through the Diabetes Association). I have a friend who works at a different location and she had lamented that they were pulling all their best things for months in preparation of sending the best of the best to have the St. Albert store stocked for its grand opening. Be sure to sign up for e-mail notice of sales, their Super Savers Card, or bring a Senior on Tuesdays for 30% off if you're looking for a deal or going to be a regular. A word of caution/advice - you need to either know what you are looking for or be on a mission for something one of a kind. Buying George brand or Cherokee brand leggings for your little girl for $2-$4 used here is simply insane when you can buy them brand new for $3-$5 on sale. But for a pair of dress shoes likely only once or twice or a vintage jersey to wear to a themed party or the perfect ugly Christmas sweater - this is most definitely your place!

It's easy to access as its right on 111 Ave but I think you can only access the store and adjoining parking lot by driving westbound on 111 Ave. The store is moderately sized. Clothing, shoes, purses/bags, household items, home decor, kids/baby clothing & toys, books, CDs and other miscellaneous goods, plus a whole section in the back with what I assume are clean, inspected & wrapped mattresses for sale. You definitely need time to kill and openness to see something you might like. My parents and I have been here a few times. At first my mom was skeptical but now she gets excited to go. We've gotten a variety of clothes, toys, stationary, and household items. With some persistence and luck, you can find some pretty awesome brand names. I've seen brands like Nike, Adidas, Bench, Helly Hansen, North Face, Victoria Secret, Zara, True Religion, as well as brands from Aritzia and Anthropologie. I've also found some great Paw Patrol, Fisher Price, Leap Frog and Disney toys here. Items vary in condition from like new to very worn out. In general I have found most of the items to be visibly clean and without any bad odors. The other thrifters can get quite focused and somewhat aggressive when it comes to being first to pick from the newly stocked bins. The staff roll the bins in from the stockroom and into these allotted "parking"' spaces in the main room. You can gather around the newly brought in bins but the staff will indicate when you are able to dig into the items. Until you hear the go ahead, you are definitely not allowed to touch. After the initial rush, most shoppers abandon the bins and you are free to go through the bins at your leisure. You learn quickly where the new bins are coming in. It's pretty obvious when you see a group of people gathered around an empty space or full bin ready to pounce. They have large metal shopping carts but you are to leave these at the perimeter of the store. You are not allowed to bring these alongside of the bins. It makes me nervous to leave my treasures unattended on the sides of the store. They also have smaller black plastic shopping baskets on wheels which you can bring with you to the bins. This is definitely a unique thrift shopping experience. I joke it's like one step above dumpster diving. It's also a lot cheaper than going to a regular Goodwill store. When it's time to pay you roll your cart over this scale that's built into the floor. You pay by the pound. The cashier will then tell you what you owe. Don't get nervous because it's really cheap. I've paid $17-$22 for an overflowing basket of items. You can definitely get a big bang for your buck if you know what to get. I recommend bringing a garbage bag or large reusable bag to carry your purchased items home.
