This is my favorite Value Village location! The prices can be a little more expensive compared to the other Value Villages in Edmonton and Sherwood park, but overall, the merchandise is generally in better shape at this location.
This store is clean, organized, and has lots of parking outside. It's almost like walking into a Winners store but I often find better deals here! I can usually find gently used brand name clothes, from high end stores like Aritzia, Anthropologie, J.Crew, Zara, Banana Republic and Lululemon here. It's such a rush to find an item that's being sold for only a fraction of the original price!
My best find at this location was gently, if ever used at all, long black winter coat (Community brand - found at Aritzia) for $60 which was still kind of expensive BUT the original price was about $300! To me this was an absolute steal!
For those who don't know, Value Village stores have the same set up (it's the upkeep that differs). For instance, the clothing is arranged by size and also by type - tops (eg. short sleeved, long sleeved, t-shirts, blouses etc.), bottoms (eg. jeans, dress pants, shorts, skirts), dresses (dressy or casual), sportswear, pajamas, shoes, coats/jackets etc. There are sections for women, men and children. In addition, there are accessories such as jewellery, scarves and bags. You can also find housewares, books, DVDs and CDs and even electronics.
The best deals are when you can buy things for 50% off. It's free to sign up for a Super Savers card. You can sign up at the store. This card allows you to receive emails regarding upcoming sales. If you have a Super Savers card, you can get the 50% off, the day before the general public. Usually these sales happen around major holidays. This past summer they even celebrated with a 50% off sale on National Thriftshop Day on August 17. The catch is that you can't sign up for a card on the day the sale is on, so it's better for you to sign up as soon as you can. If you aren't a club member, you can also call any Value Village and their phone has lots of information regarding dates of sales, locations and times, donation questions etc.
Another way to save money at Value Village is when they're handing out stamp cards. For every $5 you spend, you get one stamp. Once you fill a card, you can get 30% off your purchase of regular priced merchandise. At the stores, they have giant plastic Value Village bags that you can fill with your gently used clothes and donate to the stores. You can earn credits towards discounts. Starts at 5% and can go up to 30% with each additional bag you donate. Also, every Tuesday, seniors (60+) enjoy a 10% discount at Value Village.
If you enjoy thrifting and enjoy finding high quality bargains, I definitely recommend checking this location out! It's fun way for you to save money and to also help the environment by reusing perfectly good items, that may have otherwise been thrown out!
At this time, Value Village has an awesome selection of new and used Halloween costumes. Go check it out! read more
