Sadly I must give an overall score of 3 stars. I'll start with the best things first. We were immediately and warmly greeted. It was a Saturday evening about 6:00 pm so we knew we might get caught in a crowd and were prepared to wait. I was impressed with our server and the different menu options she shared with us. We each ordered a simple cup of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. (see pics) The vibe was great with darts, shuffleboard and a DJ setting up for karaoke night. How fun! Here's where it went downhill. We waited over 20 minutes to get our food, we never were asked if we needed anything else or if our food was good ( or correct) and our water and ice tea glasses were never refilled. Now I realize that our very nice server was busy, but she passed our table SEVERAL times without saying a word. As for our food, my chicken noodle soup had way too much pepper in it and my husband's tomato bisque was too spicy. (& he likes it spicy!!). Also, I ordered cheddar cheese not swiss cheese for my grilled cheese sandwich. I eventually decided to eat it since I was hungry and knew that I'd have to wait even longer if I returned it. This is our second visit here and sadly the service wait time then (about 6 months ago) was also "forgettable" All and all, if you are going to hang out and party with your friends, I would say GO! But if you want to go and get a meal, be prepared to be patient and allow A LOT of time. read more

Looking over the menu, a lot of it seems pretty pricey. But then I saw 18 wings for $25. Seems like a good deal to me, especially for bone in. Overall they were decent. The spicy buffalo wasn't too spicy but I did add some more buffalo sauce. The wings were a good size with lots of meat. All 18 were flats which I didn't really enjoy. They also needed to be cooked longer. They were cooked thru but had no crispy part on the outside. Same thing with the fries. Put it all in the air fryer at home and they were much better. I'll ask for well done next time, and I'd like to try the pizza. I've never been but have also heard this is a good karaoke spot on saturdays. read more

Stopped in today after finding this place on Yelp. Friendly staff and a nice selection on the menu. We got 2 pizzas and a toasted cheese sandwich. The pizzas by FAR exceeded the toasted cheese (my opinion). Crust was amazing, generous toppings and fun flavor options. They offer a 8" for $8, 16" for 12-16 for some. Of their basic options. My boyfriend and I had been here once before and it was okay. The live music was a bit too loud and our food was okay. The past two times I've gone now though we're pretty great. I went with a friend and got the Tigs and Berries grilled cheese and I was OBSESSED! I ended up ordering the very next day to take home (though they messed up my order so I didn't get it again sadly). But it's the most incredible grilled cheese I've ever had! I'll continue giving the Salty Beaver chances because that meal is all I can think about, and so I had to share because as someone who doesn't even like Gorgonzola cheese, it's incredible! read more

Cold, greasy mess. Horrible. We used the website ordering app tonight, choosing to do take out from the restaurant. Upon check out, the app told us our food would be ready 90 minutes later. Umm, Ok. That was way longer than we expect for a Wednesday night, but ok, maybe you were having a big event or something. I assumed the app would notify me via text or email when it was ready, but it didn't, so I came in at an hour instead of an hour and a half. The restaurant wasn't busy at all (it was late) and the waitress helped me and immediately gave me the bags. I knew then that it had probably been sitting there for a while. And it had. It was cold, soggy, greasy, stuck in great clumps and turned to cardboard when I tried to reheat some of it. Imagine you purchased fast food, left it in your car and ate it about three hours later. I could have done that and saved myself $80. Please note: Your staff was very nice, pleasant and smiling. There was Karaoke going on and the few people there looked like they were having fun. I've heard a lot about this place called The Salty Beaver in Longview Washington. I've heard how good the food was, and about how the customers all seem pretty happy about it, so since I spent the weekend of my birthday in Longview, I thought I'd better check it out. In fact, it was my first stop in town after a snowy, windy, white-knuckled drive that day. I entered the large, low lit establishment and had a seat at the bar. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and made several menu suggestions, but I was craving some comfort food after the cold and bleak drive, so I went with the Beaver Dam, which is a pairing of a grilled cheese sandwich made with two cheeses of my choice, and the soup. (Which happened to be tomato basil, easily a favorite of mine.) The food arrived quickly, and I must say that this was hands down the best grilled cheese I've ever had! I chose the cheddar and mozzarella, which made a really great and interesting combination in the sandwich. It was hot, melty, sharp from the cheddar, and smooth from the mozzarella. The bread was crispy and toasted on the grill to perfection. Every bite was a delight, and I'd wished I'd indulged in the full sandwich instead of just the half. But that tomato basil soup, that was the winner hands down, served with some shredded Parmesan and basil on top, it was the perfect accompaniment to the sandwich, with its sweet, yet succulent flavor playing the Huey Lewis to the sandwich's News. I swear, this was easily one of my favorite meals on the entire journey thus far! I returned Sunday morning with my daughter and her boyfriend for the brunch, which was equally as good! I had a platter with two eggs cooked exactly over medium as specified, two slices of really great French Toast, breaded exactly as it should be, and a couple slices of thick cut pepper bacon, with a pretty decent cup of coffee. Both meals absolutely wowed me, so I even bought the T-shirt to support the business and to wear back in Alabama when I get home. It's clear that the crew at The Salty Beaver care about the quality of the food they're serving, and a lot of love goes into the preparation of it. If you're in the heart of Longview Washington be sure to check them out, between the camaraderie of the crew, the entertainment of the establishment (though admittedly, I wasn't there to witness that first hand) and the new ideas and execution of them coming from the kitchen, this place is a gem in a town trying to reinvent itself. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Why is this place not popping yet? The food is beyond delicious and more than enough. The service was excellent I felt like I knew the server with how friendly she was. Food is hilarious & delicious. Atmosphere is great & coincidentally also hilarious in the best way possible! If you like restaurants with quirky names and food on the menu with quirky names that make you giggle but you're worried the food won't be good, well don't worry about the second part! Food is great!! Definitely a pub food vibe but like still family friendly which I love! Atmosphere is funny too because some of the staff's t-shirts have silly sayings, and there's little hidden signs around the restaurant that you can't help but smile too! Apparently they have Live Music and other things that happen there? That's awesome too! Aside from that, the people in the kitchen and the owners are genuinely great people and I highly recommend you support this business, seems like they are going places and I wanna see what they do next!! We really wanted to like this place. It's new to the area, and we don't have a ton of great options in town. Our hopes were high. We opted to try it for dinner on a Thursday evening, figuring it wouldn't be crazy busy. Upon arrival we got right in w/ plenty of seating available. Someone took our drink order promptly, and told us our waiter would be with us shortly. But unfortunately, things went downhill quickly (actually - very, very slowly) from there. The drinks took approximately 10 minutes to show up (neither were alcoholic or complicated). When they did finally arrive, my Arnold Palmer failed to impress; the ice tea and the lemonade were obviously sourced from a soda fountain. If/When a restaurant lists an "Arnold Palmer" as a specific beverage option on the menu, I automatically assume it'll be a fresh house-made drink. Not just a combo of two fountain drinks. Bummer! After we got the drinks it was another 10 minutes before our waiter arrived (20 minutes since arrival, with less than half the tables occupied). Our food took another 20+ minutes to arrive. Though once it did, we didn't have any complaints with the taste or quality of the food. It wasn't amazing enough to offset the underwhelming service - but was good. Over the course of the meal, I got one refill on my drink. My wife's soda was empty for at least half the meal, but she was never offered a refill. Nor could we get anyone's attention prior to finishing our food. By that point we were just ready to pay and leave. We enjoy going out, and don't ask for much as far as service. But, especially when the restaurant is very obviously not busy, when we feel like we've been totally forgotten or overlooked it really kills the ability to enjoy the experience. When this place opened it quickly became one of our favorite places for a burger or sandwich. Menu was creative and the food was delicious. The problem with this place is consistency. You don't know what you are going to get, literally. Since they have been on DoorDash things seem to have gone downhill. Wait times to get food (in restaurant and for delivery) are very long (sometimes over an hour in and out of the restaurant) and quality has dropped significantly. We have ordered via DoorDash four times. Twice we received burgers without buns, and once a double burger with no burger meat! Really? And that was after waiting an hour and a half for the delivery. We aren't ordering via DoorDash again and I'm not sure we will be going in for a while, the food quality just too inconsistent. The bar/restaurant is nice, it can be a bit loud, but it is a fun place. I love gastro-pubs, but maybe they need to stick to a simpler menu until they can get the kitchen issues worked out. It's almost like they have a good cook and a bad cook and you roll the dice every time you go there for food. Till then we'll stick to our other favorite gastro-pubs in town. read more

Forget the obvious sexual innuendo in the name; this establishment is in need of an overhaul in terms of branding, vibe, and concept. Food-all fried (I suppose that will cater to a certain audience), Service-doing their best but lacking in knowledge (this falls to lack of management's experience and ability), vibe - weird. There isn't really a vibe at all. It isn't cozy and the space is all around forgetful.
