Inside, the views are quite nice as it is mostly glass, however, the area in between the seating and counter, perhaps closer to the counter seemed a little dirty and it felt like it was left behind when this place was being built, so isn't as nice as other parts of the building. The staff didn't seem too helpful when I asked about their gluten free options, they basically gave me a reluctant and easy answer that they couldn't offer anything due to the cross-contamination risk, I eventually asked if they would make me a jacket potato and the server also was reluctant and hesitant with the response, she didn't seem sure, she just said "yes". This was disappointing and didn't fill me with faith eating here. The board at the counter which shows Parliament is quite cool, trying to link into the name of Parliament Square. I don't feel the response, confidence, helpfulness and friendliness of staff was good enough, and neither was the overall selection, some parts of the store just felt not as nice/new as they should, and sadly I'm struggling to justify anything other than a single one star for Parliament Square Cafe & Deli in Oldham.

I visited this Debenhams store in Oldham recently, mainly for the cafe they have…read more This store is very bad for wheelchair access and even for prams, as you have to go in and out the store to go up a level, which is just awful and it also has a risk of item theft, as from the lift you can just go to your car. In the cafe I ordered a Christmas Soup what they said was Gluten Free, with things like Cranberry, Chicken and carrotts. The soup was okay, it wasn't fantastic and the chicken was a little chewy, but the sauce and the potato was very nice, it wasn't the best soup I have had or the worst either. As I told them I was coeliac, they gave it me without the bread that eased my concerns. They also offered me a Gluten Free mince pie that they sold, they did sell quite a few gluten free sweet treats which was nice. It was a big mince pie, and it was quite nice for Gluten Free and I am not normally a fan of mince pies. The staff seemed nice and they did know what Gluten was, as expected with the new guidelines coming in on December 13th for resturants to know what is in their food, I give 3 stars because of their knowledge and that the soup and mince pie were okay and the staff were good too. It could of been better, it could of been worse.

Nice place to relax and grab a cuppa or bite while shopping at the mall. Good for friends, family and kids I'd say. Not extensive, but good selection of food with veggie options. Staff provide prompt and friendly service, and seem to be multitasking and working hard.
