Inside, the views are quite nice as it is mostly glass, however, the area in between the seating and counter, perhaps closer to the counter seemed a little dirty and it felt like it was left behind when this place was being built, so isn't as nice as other parts of the building. The staff didn't seem too helpful when I asked about their gluten free options, they basically gave me a reluctant and easy answer that they couldn't offer anything due to the cross-contamination risk, I eventually asked if they would make me a jacket potato and the server also was reluctant and hesitant with the response, she didn't seem sure, she just said "yes". This was disappointing and didn't fill me with faith eating here. The board at the counter which shows Parliament is quite cool, trying to link into the name of Parliament Square. I don't feel the response, confidence, helpfulness and friendliness of staff was good enough, and neither was the overall selection, some parts of the store just felt not as nice/new as they should, and sadly I'm struggling to justify anything other than a single one star for Parliament Square Cafe & Deli in Oldham.

After doing some shopping In Tesco's Huddersfield road, I and my fiance went up to the cafe for an…read moreall day breakfast. The cafe had no eggs. which was a disappointment so the staff substituted the eggs a sausage on both plates. On the plates were: 1 Rasher of bacon, 2 Hash browns, Beans and 1 slice of fried bread cut into a triangle, oh, and the 2 sausages one of which should have been an egg. The totally annoying thing about this so -called breakfast it should have had an egg on the plate maybe even two. What I mean to say is spot on in my opinion. It's not as if the staff were far away from a place that they could get some more eggs. All they had to was go down stairs and get some eggs. This is the sort of thing that wouldn't happen at The Gallery in Oldham.

This Tesco Cafe is the main cafe serving the Tesco Extra store on Huddersfield Road…read more The store, and the cafe are both quite big, and this cafe is easily viewable from the entrance, on the top floor. This cafe is quite pricy compared to other Tesco cafes, they charge 65p a breakfast item, which is 15p more per item than Middleton. I do think it still represents value for money, but I do feel betrayed that this store does charge more than Middleton, when the food isn't any better. They serve "Costa" coffee here, including a few hot and iced beverages. I prefer this approach, as some Tesco stores have a Costa inside, I'd prefer the cafe to serve costa (if they do have a partnership) as it still means Tesco's standard cafe products are still offered. The staff here seemed okay, with some of them not seeming too friendly, and a little grumpy and tired in a way, especially when I mentioned the pricing, it seemed she was shocked I questioned her and the price difference, but I feel I have a right to do this, spending 15p more an item (or 60p) than what I expected and would of payed at another branch. Even a Tropicana drink here costs a good 40p more than what I'd of payed in store, which I feel is stupid as just meters away I could of payed this amount less. The presentation was a little sloppy but still the food was okay, but nothing special, especially to warrant the pricing compared to Middleton's cafe and in-store. This cafe is quite nice and does have good views from the store, but it is just a shame that the food here is just satisfactory and they do charge a good amount more than other branches of Tesco Cafe (Middleton) and the store it is in. My issue with one member of staff is also a key factor in the lower score than what I'd of liked to give. Although I don't feel this place deserves 1 star, I still feel I am being quite generous with two.
