I cannot express how deeply upset I am after my first experience with The Salon on Middle. When setting up my appointment online I scheduled with Jennifer for a Saturday and left a pretty detailed description of what I wanted done and outlined what I had previously done to my hair. About 30 mins before my appointment I get a text from one of Jennifer's coworkers saying she is out sick and will need to reschedule, life happens! No big deal. When Jennifer was back at work she called and we rescheduled for the following Saturday. That Saturday rolls around and again, I get a call about their shampoo bowls being out. Again, things happen. I'm rescheduled now to the following Monday later in the evening. I show up to the salon and Jennifer is the only other person in the salon, I show her NUMEROUS inspiration pictures (gave her my whole phone that had 15 saved photos) all with the same color style: black with a very noticeable "blonde" money piece with little peekaboo pieces throughout. She tells me she will most likely be able to get the blonde pieces as light as the reference photos even after I told her I pull brassy and I'm not expecting to be as light as the photos... she foiled the blonde pieces then did an all over black "stain" (still not exactly sure what that is but yea) on the remaining hair. During processing obviously there's not much to be done so she had stepped out for a cig but did not wash her hands when she came back in then washed my blonde and color out without shampooing so I smelled like cigarettes. Less than ideal being that I am pregnant. Back in the chair she starts to blow dry and explain that the black touched the blonde and stained it... after blow drying my hair is blue... BLUE! She said just wash it it'll act as a toner and wash out grey blonde... I (not being a stylist of 23+ years) believed her and she gave me her card to schedule getting it fixed if it didn't wash out. IT DIDNT WASH OUT. So 2 washes later (as prescribed) I message her that I will need it fixed ASAP. I'm scheduled for the following Friday late in the evening again. Friday rolls around she tells me she's not feeling well and leaving early again and moves me to Saturday. I obliged obviously, health matters.... Friday night I ask twice for a time for Saturday. No response. Saturday morning I ask for a time, she won't be in until noon. I message her at noon, she's not in yet. I call at 1:45, no answer, leave a voicemail. Call the salon, no answer. I call her, no answer I call the salon again, no answer, leave a voicemail. Needless to say at this point I'm so insanely furious that I not only have blue F***ING hair but also not a soul is answering to get me scheduled to get fixed... finally I call her directly and she answers tells me "well I'm not at a stopping point..." then proceeds to finally give me a time to be there. Yippy. I show up, she says she's gonna color strip the blue and go from there. Somehow, on virgin hair (from my roots to my jaw, everything after that she knew had been dyed before over a year ago) my hair turned PINK NEON PINK. I was then asked if I take a prenatal because I'm very obviously pregnant and we knew this info before getting into anything at all. I'm blamed for me being pregnant when there shouldn't have been blue in the blonde in the first place so her solution was to turn my WHOLE HEAD back to brown with ATROCIOUS red brown highlights in the front and when I told her it all looked brown again anyway she said it's not that the "black" is still there... basically I paid $210 for her to cut bangs, (which she did a great job on the cut, no hate for that...)and chemically make my hair 30 different colors in a week just for it to end up the same color I came in with but with a slight terrible red tinge to my bangs... I'm disappointed and distraught. It takes a lot for my to make beauty appointments but when I do make an appointment with a paid professional in a professional salon I would expect them to 1. Know what's going on 2. Act professionally and 3. Not blame their customer for their mistake then offer a $50 credit to my next visit??? I appreciate the attempt but I will most certainly not be back EVER. My hair looks worse than when I came in, I look like I did it myself. read more
