Cute place, we had ordered the wine flight but never got our last taste, we got tired of waiting so long between pours. We were ignored even though we sat right at the bar. I guess there were more of important people there are something. The wines were only so so but good service always makes thing better. Unfortunately It was lacking. We ordered the artichoke dip which was very bland. A couple of the wines we tried were just okay. I don't ever give out zero stars but if I am sitting right there for a wine tasting you need to pay attention. I debated whether or not I wanted to write this review, but since I was there this past Friday and it is now Tuesday and i find myself STILL bothered by my experience I figured I should share. I will start off by saying that I really liked their wine, they are on the sweeter side, but I like sweet wine, so it was perfect for me. The reason for the low scoring review is completely based upon my experience with the staff. I was on a mommy's weekend out with my girlfriends this weekend. Every year we take a little trip somewhere to unwind and getaway. Upon entering the winery we sat down and were asked for our ID's. I will start out by saying that I am 32 years old, being asked for my id usually makes a little happy considering I never get asked for it anymore. My DL picture was taken directly after my wedding, 8 years, a kid, and 60 pounds ago. The lady looked at my id, then at me, then again at my id. She asked for another form Of identification. This has NEVER happened to me! I didn't have another picture id but I did have my debit card and various other cards with my name on them. The owner then comes and looks at my id and gives us the ok. Again I wanna say, I'm 32 years old, if anything I look younger in my ID picture. The lady giving me all the trouble with this was also not very friendly about it either. I honestly think if the owner wasn't there she wouldn't have served me. But she was and she did, so I tried to forget about it. My friends and I had some drinks, I bought two bottles of wine (would probably have bought more If I had been treated a little bit better) when I went to pay, she ADDED HER OWN $11 TIP!!!!!!!! I asked what had happened and she said the computer must have done that. Ummmmmm yeah right! Me being me, and not likeing confrontation didn't say anything and let the B have the $11 she added to my check. Had it not been for the rude service (I almost felt like she treated me like I had committed identity fraud or something, it was WEIRD) I would have come back with my husband. Instead we will make the drive to Fredericksburg where the people are friendly. I'm also adding a pic of my DL picture and me and my friends this weekend. It's pretty obvious it's the same person. So, all in all, good tasting wines if you prefer a sweeter wine, rude and terrible service. read more

While visiting Sulphur last month we decided to try The Rusty Nail since we had heard such good things. Here are our thoughts: the place is quite outdated and seems marketed towards an older crowd. The wine was good, but the food was below average (queso was just velveeta and rotel). A lot of the merchandise was covered in dust. Here was my biggest problem. The owner was sitting at the bar while her friends (all older crowd), talked about complete racist, ignorant, and offensive political commentary. The owner was also partaking in the conversation. We were so appalled that not only was she letting the conversation happen in front of other customers and not putting an end to it, but also joining in on the conversation. I'm a little mad that this great winery is in Sulphur since I live in OKC. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this small town winery, but when I walked in I was pretty surprised. It's bigger than I thought it would be with dozens of wines lining the walls. Upon entering, all the wines are to the left and all the way to the back left of the store, while the tasting area and little cafe type area is to the right and back. The store is speckled with trinkets and handy wine accessories. When we were there, we happened upon the beginning of a Sip'n'Shop being set up in the winery. A handful of local merchants were getting ready to sell their wares at 1:00pm. Unfortunately, we got there at noon because we were on our way out of town, so we didn't stick around for the event to be in full swing. It really felt like one of those little things in Uptown 23rd or Plaza! For that day, the wine tasting was "free" with the purchase of at least one bottle of wine. Seeing as we bought about 5, I think we got it, haha. The system for the wine tasting was simple; you get a dry erase card and a marker and mark the wines you want to try (5, I believe). That makes it easy to keep track of as they bring you the wines (individually). They also have a little bistro and menu with foods such as cheese/meat/fruit/nut platters, soups, and sandwiches. For $100, we brought back: Alice in Wonderland Pinot Gris (White Cranberry), Love Potion #15 Cabernet Sauvignon (Acai Raspberry), Tinkerbell Riesling (Green Apple), Dorothy's Ruby Red Chianti (Cranberry), and Paint the Town Pink Zinfandel (Pomegranate). As far as I can remember, at least. This is definitely going to be another stop the next time I'm in Sulphur. read more

Very cute place, lots of options for sweet wines and all were good. We came in on Saturday night 1/18/20 and were the only customers most of the time we spent there. We had two tastings and two glasses, plus the meat/cheese tray and spinach dip. The dip was great, the meat tray was s little underwhelming (especially for the price). To be honest, we didn't feel overly welcome. The service was slow, the owner/managers did not interact with us. Once the manager did tell us it would be a moment until she would pour our wine because she was in the middle of something- then she climbed up a ladder to fiddle with the security camera. The employee was helpful (Chloe I think) and we appreciated her friendliness. We felt rushed out as the kitchen closed early and it seemed they were ready for us to go. There was awkwardness with the employee using the wrong cash register that wasnt handled very professionally. This was the only tasting I have ever gone to where I didn't buy a bottle (or 3)...and the only reason we didn't was because we felt rushed and awkward at the end. It could be that we were there on an off night, I hope to go back again sometime. read more

Great shop with adorable wine-themed gifts. The wine is nothing special .. too sweet and over-priced for what you are getting ... but the atmosphere is really cool. Been several times and the service is hit or miss. Some days they act like they're glad to see you and others they act like its too much trouble. It is however a fun stop along a walk down a really cool main street though. read more

What a great little Tasting Room. The Rusty Nail Winery is filled with delectable wines, a drink and draw station, and an area filled with gifts and goodies for anyone enthusiastic. The hubby and I had a tasting here. For me the standout was the Gold Digger Chardonnay. Our other favorite was the Pinot Noir. The wait staff is very attentive, and equally Pleasant. The tasting area also serves food, and is just off the gift shop area. The Rusty Nail Winery buys their juice from California and then create there where is in Oklahoma. You get a tasting for $6 which includes five wines. You can then purchase Wines By the glass and drink on site. And you can take a bottle or bottles home afterwards. We took the Chardonnay home and it didn't make it more than 48 hours. This was a great little find and we can't wait to come back and try more ones. read more

We always visit the Rusty Nail when we pass through on our way to a bed and breakfast once or twice a year! We were there this Saturday December 26th at 3:00 pm! I'm giving times so you can check the staff at this time! We asked for a wine tasting and the young lady who waited on us was very rude from the minute we sat down. We ended up not finishing the tasting and paid and left! Probably won't be coming back again. Such a shame because we did enjoy stopping there getting a tasting and buying wine to take to the bed and breakfast! I know people can be rude but this was beyond rude!! read more

I love this place. If I had one wish (but I'm not docking a star for this) is that the bar area held more seats. The wines are really good. I like the Pinot Grigio is my favorite. Also this place has food. My favorite thing to eat is the Spinach dip. For what it's worth - the Spinach Dip is worth the drive. The Staff: Everyone here is so nice. I loved the Rusty Nail Winery. I am rating the place for what it is...a winery in Sulphur that charges 6$ for five nicely portioned tastings of wine made in Oklahoma. If you are expecting Napa Valley, go to Napa Valley. My friends and I visited Sulphur for our girls' weekend and this was one of our favorite stops. I enjoyed the sauvignon blanc and the sangria. Some of the other wines I tried were a little sweet or berry tasting but that is what a tasting is all about - finding what you like! The chips and queso were good as was the spinach dip. The sandwiches, however, were nothing special and served on plain sandwich bread. I don't recommend them. That's my only negative comment. Our server was a sweetheart and we had a wonderful experience. If I ever return to Sulphur, I will definitely revisit the Rusty Nail Winery! read more

I enjoyed my experience here. We stopped by right before heading back to Dallas and chose to do the flight of wine plus the tasting glass for $8. Without the souvenir glass you pay $5. You receive 5-1 oz tastings of your choice of wines. The list of dry whites and sweet reds was varied and had the cutest names--Tinkerbell, Alice in Wonderland, Paint the Town Pink, Ooh La La, Gold Digger, Boogie Shoes, just to name a few. My favorite was the Paint the Town Pink, a pomegranate zinfandel, for its very sweet and fruity notes. I love this shop. I'd actually rather type shoppe. It is so unique, cozy, and fun inside. Bottles of wine line the walls, in off-white, stone, built-in, curved triangular cubbies. A little hard to explain but very cool. The tables were covered in black linen and flanked by cafe chairs. Some of the tables were actually wine barrels with glass tops, and corks filled the space between. Lots of additional wine themed items--gift bags, charms, cork stoppers, etc are sold here as well. Very cute and makes for great window shopping or winery-shoppe souvenir purchasing! We were greeted when we first entered and seated, but it took a while for one of the staff to take our flight orders. We each received a glass and the 1-oz tastings were poured into the glasses one at a time. After our first taste, which was downed rather quickly, we had to wait a while before we were attended to. We do appreciate that all hands were on deck, however, because the other staff members assisted us when needed. In total 4 women served us. We enjoyed talking about our wines and soaking in the ambiance, but do wish that service had been just a little quicker. If you check-in with yelp, you receive a free beverage. I used that toward my flight, and just paid $3 plus tax and tip for my souvenir glass. :-) Also, according to a sign here, they have cork and canvassing, a paint and wine night I assume, and the cost is $35. Sounds cool. Overall I enjoyed my time here and would recommend it as a must-visit when in Sulphur. The appetizers looked delicious as well and I wish I'd been hungry, because they sounded delicious! read more

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOUNGER THAN 50! Place is super outdated. Only young people there were the workers. Merchandise has dust all over it and looks like it was bought from the early 2000's which makes sense for how expensive it was. Service was okay, wines were pretty on par with the cheap ones you can get from Walmart. Wish this place felt more inviting to younger generations. read more

Rusty Nail Winery is a quaint little winery in the heart of Sulfur Oklahoma. We had the pleasure of visiting this winery, during our stay at The Artesian Hotel; which is down the road. The staff is very pleasant and generous. They have a great selection and varieties of wines that taste great. Also the fact that the theme of the winery is ladies high heeled shoes with a combination of an old retired hardware store is not a bad attraction either. I would say if you are a wino this is a place you surely cannot afford to miss. read more

I have never experienced such rudeness from an employee as I did at this winery. Kenya (employee) treated our group (who are EXPERIENCED wine tasters) like we were not allowed or good enough to be in the store. They are NOT family friendly. Not complaints about their wines but a business cannot excel with employees that treat customers in this way. I am all for shopping local and supporting our local businesses but I will not support a business that can treat people in this way. Will not go back or buy anything with their name on it. read more

We were visiting Sulphur and we're heading out of town. We went out of our way to stop at the wine shop. I wanted to buy wine for my daughter-in-laws. It was 11:45 and when I got to the door I read they opened at noon. I tried the door just in case it was open. The door opened and a lady walked out and said "were not open" she was very rude and walked past me. I said "we are heading out of town and I want to buy 4 bottles of wine" she pointed to the door and said "were not open" she walked away and was yelling at me as I walked across the street saying they weren't open. It was bizarre and I am glad I didn't buy the over priced wine from the Rusty Nail. read more

She offered a wine flight (5 tastings for $5) We got the history of the place(old hardware store with lots of rusty nails to clean up before they moved in!) We tasted almost all the sweets reds and whites and frozens and there was still plenty to try. Talk about finding a diamond in the rough. My wife and I were on a weekend getaway. We just happened to look online to see a winery in Sulphur, OK. So, we take the drive and stop in for a glass. What an amazing experience. The owners are so friendly and the wine is excellent. I've been to a lot of Winery's in Texas and by far this is the best one I've been to. They have tables and a bar to sit down for either a tasting or a great glass of wine. Their food is all home made and is fantastic. We spent over 3 hours there just enjoying a few glasses and talking to the owners. They have a lot of wines so it's good for any type of wine drinker. They also have a gift shop with all kinds of interesting wine gifts and such. Be sure to take the time to drive out to this place and visit! read more

We stopped by the Rusty Nail on a weekend trip to Davis. I was tired and looked a mess after a day at Turner Falls, but the staff didn't seem to even notice, they were super friendly and made me feel welcome despite my lackluster appearance :) I did the $5 tasting, didn't indulge in a glass since I was driving, but wish I could have stayed! This place makes me wish I lived closer (we're in Edmond)! I could see myself hanging out here after work at least once a week for a glass of wine or a peach bellini Corona-rita to unwind...the wines were delicious! My favorite was the Peep-Toe, a peach chardonnay. I bought a bottle, but should have gotten two since I'll be giving this one away as a gift. I will definitely be stopping by here every time we're in the area. I just wish they distributed to some local liquor stores so I wouldn't have to wait :) read more

Wine was good, service was slow...probably due to very poor attitudes. All of the people working were seriously disgruntled (loudly complaining about the boss) and should probably seek happiness in a different line of work. That ruined the experience of our wine tasting. Unless you are on a wine trail and need the code for your book, skip this one. read more

They walked by our table several times for more than 30min and when we finally got up and asked for service the lady at the bar held a finger up (telling us to wait) and walked right past without saying a word! Our group was in town for a girls weekend. This place was adorable. $5 wine tasting and great appetizers to accompany the tasting available for purchase. I love any place that has a doggie mascot! Little Snubs was an adorable chihuahua mix. His personality matched the winery. Many of the wines were very sweet, flavorful and fruity. The tinkerbell and the pomegranate zin were my favorites. Others in my group loved the clean tasting "ooh la la". Staff were super friendly, as seems to be the theme in this small town. Lots of cute gifts available and you must get the cosmorita mix, which is an irresistible purchase if you get the free sample, as it's Yummy! This is a well planned scheme to suck you in, especially after getting you all flush cheeked post wine tasting. I bought several bottles of wine, and of course the irresistible cosmorita mix, but do not anticipate they will last long. Will have to visit again soon. Wish their wines were offered in OK wine shops. Only complaints: they were out of several wines for tasting and purchase and check out was quite slow. read more
