The Rush Coffee Truck comes to my office in Escondido every Tuesday morning and I try to get it at least twice a month. Claire who I believe is the owner/operator that comes to our office is always prompt and very friendly when she's here. The van is a bright blue and yellow color, is well maintained and always very clean and presentable. This is important to me not only because I like knowing that things I consume come from a clean and maintained kitchen, but it also shows the pride she takes in her business and I like supporting businesses with proud owners who are passionate about what they do. The prices are posted clearly right on the window and the selection of Danishes are displayed right behind the glass at the front. Being a creature of habit, I tend to stick with the same thing and usually opt for a dirty chai with an espresso shot and some sort of Danish usually either cheese/jalapeno/ham, or in today's case a strawberry cheese Danish. The pastries are fully loaded and have a delicious flaky, golden crust and always hit the spot. All in all, the Rush Coffee Truck is fantastic treat to anticipate every Tuesday and I hope that she continues coming to our office. read more

Food trucks can be blah, bad at times, or magic! I see The Rush Coffee food truck as a little bit of magic. I was attending the fifth anniversary celebration of the founding of a local church in my community and The Rush Coffee was one of two food trucks on location to help us celebrate. As you see from the photos the truck itself has a very eye-appealing color but the best part comes when you order. I didn't see white mocha latte on the menu but inquired, found out it was available, and ordered it! Chari, my order taker/barista had incredible friendliness and courtesy, which always helps the appeal of a coffee outlet. My white mocha, though it tasted different from others I've had, was a tad over-sweetened but certainly not enough feel it was all sugar with a little coffee in it - that's generally the Starbucks formula. OK, honestly, I'll give my recent experiences with Starbucks a better score as things have gotten better! But I will say that I do like The Rush Coffee and would most certainly try it again if I see this food truck in my area. The Coffee Rush happened to be at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market. I learned that they are there on a regular basis these days which is a good thing because they do make some good espresso beverages. I had a Caffè Macchiato and it was a well made. It was a little heavy on the foam, but otherwise it was very good. The flavor of the espresso was just right. We often get notices from our apartment complex that food trucks will be on property from time to time. On a bright, hot Saturday, The Rush Coffee was here for a couple hours during the morning. The owner handled everything and you've got to hand it to him, working outside in the heat. It's been unseasonably hot and humid this last week and we San Diegans are not used to humidity. I ORDERED: Iced, caffeinated drinks that were done very well. 1) An Iced Chai Tea Straight Up with almond milk for my lactose intolerant tummy and a Big Blue Blueberry Muffin to go with it. 2) An Iced Chai Tea with almond milk, pump of caramel and cinnamon on top, plus a Big, Beautiful Cheese Danish. The menu also includes real fruit smoothies, Italian sodas, every kind of caffeinated drink you can dream up, and even whole roasted coffee beans. They also sell merchandise that has their logo on it, such as Baseball Caps and T-Shirts. Service is very efficient and friendly. I walked up when it wasn't busy and had a chance to meet the owner and chat with him a little about his coffee business and the economy. Very nice and easygoing guy. The reason for the 3-star rating is due to two incidents with really awful customer service by the male employee (is he the owner?) For the past year I've been a loyal customer of theirs as I go to the farmer's market every weekend without fail. A few months back during COVID, we followed them to their location in Escondido. We went to see a movie in the park, that's when I met this coffee truck! I asked the barista what their best drink was, as soon as she said Coconut, I said yes pls!! I picked up the coconut macnut mocha, hot; along with some chocolate chip cookies for my friends. The cookies were still warm!! We were super excited to finally try the coffee since we've been following them for a few months on IG. So when we saw them at Batenuts last weekend it wasn't a hesitation to fall in their long line. Once we got to the front of the line my husband asked the guy "what's your most popular?" The guy replied annoyed "anything on the menu" My husband asked "if I wanted to order a low carb drink do you guys offer any substitutions? " The guy sounded annoyed and simply answered "Nope". This truck comes to my daughter's school once a month. We have supported it each and every time. There has always been a rule that kids cannot purchase a coffee drink without a parent. (Which goes without saying is 100% understandable!) Usually I send my daughter with money and she gets a smoothie or hot chocolate (nothing with caffeine) Every once in a while she will ask me to go with her so she can get a coffee drink. (Yes I know kids shouldn't have coffee but every now and then I will let her and I will usually ask for decaf when available). This morning was a special occasion as she will be promoting to Middle School in a few days and it was the last time the truck would be there. I agreed to accompany her to order her drink. We waited in the line and when it was our turn my daughter asked for her drink (which included coffee) The man (owner of the truck) rolled his eyes and said I can't sell you coffee! I explained that I was her mother and I would like to order the drink. He said is it for her? Pointing to my 11 year old daughter. To which I replied "yes." He became visibly angry and yelled at me in front of a long line of other parents and children. "I can't sell coffee to children!!! The district won't let me. You're going to ruin it for everyone!!!" I was taken aback and shocked by how he was speaking to me. I quickly changed her order to a smoothie (as I was not wanting to make a bigger scene than he already had) and offered to pay with cash when he couldn't get the card machine to work. I have absolutely no issue with following the rules. And If the rule had changed or even if it simply had not been enforced in the past again no issue. I completely understand not selling coffee to kids. What I have an issue with is the manner in which this man spoke me. There was definitely a better, more appropriate way to communicate what he was trying to say that didn't embarrass and berate me in front of a line of parents and children. Simple as that!! I gave 2 stars because normally the people are nice and this is a nice treat to have on our campus but this owner needs to leave the customer service to his nicer employees. read more

Rush coffee frequents my work location, but I never took the time out of my morning to give their coffee a try, as I thought they would be a regular coffee shop who served standard drinks. Little did I know I what I was missing out on! Their coffees are the creamiest I've ever had. During an event put on by the City of Carlsbad, Rush Coffee had their set up ready to go and had a decent number of people stop by to get their coffee fix. I caved and decided to give them a try. I got their mocha frappe- on a pretty cold night. And I regret nothing. The customer service was so friendly and casual. My frappe was delicious and even looked smooth enothat a lady at another booth saw my drink and commented on how creamy it looked! After confirming her statement, she too went to get a decaf latte and was amazed at how great it tasted! This coffee truck stops by my job on Thursday mornings. This was my first time trying them out and was not disappointed one bit. I had an Horchata Frappe and it was delicious! It is one girl running the whole show and I don't know how she does it but she must have super powers to be able to handle so many orders all by herself. The wait isn't even that bad either.
