Pleasant pub in the village of Catforth. There is outside seating to the front of the pub and three rooms inside, one of which has a pool table. Also hidden away in the corner of the pool room is what is proclaimed to be 'Lancashire's Smallest Shop' and it may very well be as it is little more than a cubby hole selling a few essential supplies such as toilet rolls and tinned goods. The pub is a Robinson's pub and I had a smashing pint of Unicorn bitter whilst my husband opted for the Blonde. There is an extensive choice of food between the menu and the specials board and as they pride themselves on their home-made pies I plumped for the steak pie, whilst my husband chose the steak and kidney pudding. When the pie arrived at the table it looked super, a generous slice full of steak and accompanied by chips and mushy peas. Unfortunately, it was a little bit disappointing as some of the larger pieces of steak in the pie were a bit chewy, such a shame as it really was a tasty pie. The food is reasonably priced though and I would definitely dine here again as hopefully I just caught them on an off day on the steak pie front! :-) The staff are nice and friendly and all in all it's a perfectly fine pub. read more
