The merchandise is top-of-the-line brands, from shoes to apparel to accessories. There were some brands I had never even heard of here (although my kid said she knew of these lines. I'm thinking specifically of the ON brand of shoes from Switzerland, but there were other brands as well). Super cool running shoes, some futuristic, all state-of-the-art. And lots of name brands I'm familiar with, too. So the product lines offered here run the gamut from mainstream to elite. The price ranges are likewise broad, depending of what you are looking for. (Note: I did see some cool apparel on a sale rack, and these prices were slashed, so I wonder if their running shoes also go on sale at times). What made this store stand out is the expertise of the employees here. They are all serious runners who know their stuff. I appreciate how they won't try to sell you on something that isn't right for you (regardless how much the item might cost). For someone like me (i.e., totally NOT a serious runner! Probably the antithesis of a serious runner. Someone who just aspires to stay upright when crossing any race's finishing line. lol!), I rely on this type of expertise to steer me in the right direction, as there are SO many products out there, I don't know the first thing about what is available in any given year and what would work best for me.

Jessica, the manager, put me immediately at ease! She had me take off my shoes and then she did a comprehensive gait assessment. She asked me about any injuries, concerns I had, etc. We then tried out a couple of pairs of shoes, did some sizing, etc. We finally ended up with the perfect pair - but they didn't have the right size in stock (I needed an 11.5 and they only had an 11). She could have said "oh, the 11 will be fine" .. but she didn't. She offered to order them for me but it would be about 4 weeks. I told her I needed them next week b/c I was leaving on a trip and she wrote the name, model and size down for me and told me where to call to see who else in town might have them in stock. THEN .. when she learned we were headed to Kelowna, gave me some tips on some great out-of-the-way places. Jessica could have just wanted to make the sale and given me less-than-optimal shoes - but she didn't. She made sure I had the right shoes even if she didn't make the sale. AMAZING customer service. I found the shoes at another store, but next time I will make sure I shop well ahead of when I need them so I can make sure Jessica and this Running Room get the sale. She was awesome. If you need new or better sneakers, make sure you head out here and ask for Jessica. She was fantastic!

I am not a super long distance trail runner. On average these got 10-12km of trail a week due to my inaccessibility to the trails on weekdays. In the last couple weeks I noticed that the mesh was breaking down on both shoes where you bend at the toes. I called up forrunners and advised of the situation and that I no longer had a receipt. The guy on the phone said bring them in and we'll see what we can do. So I did. Now, I was thinking, I would love if they replaced them, but really, that's just not going to happen even if they did only have about 130km on them. How do they know that I'm telling the truth and after 3 months. I wasn't really sure what was going to happen. You don't know if you don't ask. I'd thought that if I could get a good discount on a new pair, then that was an acceptable win. I was very surprised that the guy inspected them for wear, went to the back, and came out with a new pair. NO CHARGE!!! How awesome is that! You just won a customer for life! With the amount I spend on shoes, that's a pair of shoes well worth giving away. Thanks so much you have no idea how much I appreciate it.

I did not have high hopes as the brands they carried are similar to every other store I have been to. When I entered the store there were more sales reps than shoppers in the store and they were very welcoming without being pushy. The young woman that assisted me was the most considerate of reps and she knew her shoes. She measured my feet, asked a bunch of question, listened to my answers and said I'll go get some for you to try on. It was an interesting experience. She actually knew that shoes don't all fit the same from one supplier to the next and she knew that it might take several trips to the back for more shoes before she satisfied my slightly odd requirements. She just kept on helping me until we found the perfect shoes. Thanks to Emma who was so patient and knowledgeable. This place is awesome and the staff are all terrific. Give them a try!!

I was really impressed by the shoes in this shop and pleased that they sold shoes other than athletics. I wear my shoes forever when I get good ones, so the prices here are not out of line. I would also rate it 5 stars when I can recommend the place wholeheartedly, even after a first visit. For example, a restaurant that was able to deliver a love at first sight experience would be a very memorable meal where we were wow'ed by its choice of ingredients, food taste, or food presentation plus it provided excellent service. And in this case, I had been consistently impressed by Rackets & Runners' product selection and their customer service on many repeat visits PLUS I can vouch for their 5 stars rating even from my first initial visit. No sympathy stars were granted here, this is truly a place deserving of solid 5 stars for the shoppers seeking expert knowledge and patient service on rackets and runners. Good selection of tennis rackets, pickleball rackets and running shoes. I didn't look for badminton rackets here nor did I seek help on other racket sports like ping pong but they have excellent service, even over the phone, so feel free to call their store before dropping by if you have questions about what sporting goods or brands they carry. I was referred by friends to come here to rent tennis and pickleball rackets before committing to a high end racket purchase and their demo program was great! I appreciated the staff knowledge and paying a small fee to rent an expensive racket for playing on the court was helpful. Trying demo racquets made a huge difference for me in figuring out my playing style and racket preferences. Also, the staff advised me on subtle differences in various brands and were not pushy in making a sale. The staff here are helpful and patient so I enjoyed shopping here when I am looking for expert knowledge for a racket that will last me for years. In short, their expert product knowledge and genuine customer service plus helpful attitude truly sets them apart. Finally, they do carry discounts and clearance deals on rackets & runners so you could score a bargain but consider that as a bonus. Also, I would opt to buy sporting goods such as tennis balls, pickleball racket bags or ping pong rackets online or at chain sports store. Prob easy to find cheaper deals online on Amazon or sale prices on brands not carried at this store but no outlet stores or online retailers can offer such a good demo racket program like them. So I recommend this store for shoppers who would gain benefits from their demo program or for shoppers wanting to try out a racket to deem if it is the best fit. IMO, investing in a good racket is great value for improving your game in the long run. (Yup, let's end review with a play on words lol) Ps. They organize a run club for a membership fee, scan QR code in photo if interested.
