So wait time outta this world 45mins-1hr. So i ended up picking ready made stuff. I got the seafood salad which should be called shrimp salad. Wasn't too tasty 3/5 and that's being generous. The slice of sweet potato pie wasn't too sweet definitely tasty though 4/5. Place is small you will have to wait outside

I drove 50 minutes to try Rolling Rib after hearing good things, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming from start to finish. Despite arriving just in time for my scheduled pickup after a 60-minute wait, my food was cold. I ordered the beef ribs, mac and cheese, and greens. The beef ribs were mostly fat, and they were short ribs not the meaty beef ribs I expected. The mac and cheese was very dry, and the greens lacked flavor entirely. The seafood salad was especially disappointing more like a shrimp noodle salad. It was basically a bowl of pasta with mayo, only 3 large shrimp and 3 small ones. It should be called a shrimp salad, not seafood salad. The strawberry lemonade was extremely sweet some might enjoy that, but it was too much for me. After the long drive, long wait, and high expectations, I was truly disappointed. I really wanted to like this place, but the quality didn't live up to the hype.

    FATBOX (PORK)

We stopped by after work on a Friday. This was my first time here. The parking lot was full and cars are parked on the side of the road near the restaurant. Some of the items we wanted to order, turkey wings and beef bbq, were sold out. I ordered a Fat Box for $13. I was told the wait would be 20 minutes. Well, an hour later my number was finally called!!! Now I know why so many people were sitting in their cars. This place has a loyal following and the food and prices are well worth the wait. Check this place out. You will not be missed. Get there early if you can.

This place closes in the winter and recently opened the last week of March. This was my first time here as I went there during their closed hours. Apparently I was not the only one unaware of the seasonal closing because another car pulled up as I was there. The line was about 20 people deep and from the ear hustling many were happy that it was open and surprised at the number of people waiting. It must be a thing with bbq places where they make you wait. Once I got in I knew exactly what I was going for. There is an item called a fat box ($13) that comes with ribs, two wings, choice of roll or sweet muffin and a side which the spouse went with. I went with the combo platter that came with two choices of meats, two sides, coleslaw, and choice of bread. For the two meats I decided with the spicy chopped pork and pork ribs accompanied by collard greens and mac n cheese. For $25 I think this combo platter was a great deal. The portions were of good size as it was lunch and eventually dinner. The chopped spicy pork was good and had a nice kick to it that was not trying to destroy your mouth. I see myself going back specifically to get this in the future. The ribs were decent and I believe I got four or five of them on top of the chopped pork. They must have cut mines from the middle of the rack. No edge pieces that would make you mad in my order. The mild sauce on the side added a nice flavor and I am the type to get sauce on the side to make sure it is not trying to cover some issues with the ribs. Whoever in the back cooking the greens I can tell they like putting a little sugar in their greens. Now for some this is a point of contention like putting sugar in grits. Personally as long as you don't go overboard with it I am fine with a little sugar in the greens. When I got home of course I splashed a little hot vinegar on it. The mac n cheese was real mac n cheese and had that nice light browning on the edge. Light browning, not burnt So this place is only open Friday to Sunday for limited hours. There are Sunday specials so go online and check them out. I will be going back to sample some of the other goods but I know now to either order online or call it in. Still if you look at the online menu it does not match up with the selection on the menu at the physical location. The wait is not bad but might as well use the tools available. If you get there while busy the parking lot can get cramped but you should be able to find a spot.

The best beef ribs that I've had in a minute. Was expecting at least one whole rib vs pieces. Cabbage and cornbread very tasty as well. Strawberry lemonade is thirst quenching. I wanted some seafood salad but it only comes in one size. You won't regret the visit but the wait and parking is another issue.

Can opening da y after waiting months for them to open back up and I must say it was well worth the wait. Rolling Ribs has been my go to for 9 years and the food is always amazing. The cashier is always friendly. I must say when you come don't be in a hurry because it takes time for them to complete orders. You can order ahead online if you choose. But just know the food is worth the wait.

I stopped by on a busy Friday evening, the wait wasn't bad...especially when you know the food gonna hit just right. Gonna always return when I'm in the area. Always clean, and I love the upgrades in the restaurant

Stumbled upon this place looking for some bbq while in that area. Service was quick but attendant was not personable and she seemed very bothered by questions being asked about the menu. Those questions needed to be asked because unfortunately items that we were ordering they were out of. This was a Sunday early in the day. Lots of people coming through. Desserts in a window that you can't order because they are already accounted for for those online/pick up orders, then they shouldn't be visible to your customers. The waiting area seemed crowded and not the best of system wihen calling out the orders. Mine was never called, I waited a bit and when I see the people that ordered after me get their items, I went up and my bag was sitting there all along, but I was told to wait for my number to be called. Food was tasty, could have used more in the portion. It all was just ok.

I've been here 3 times since they opened this season. The way this place has me in a choke hold for the summer! This food is soooo dang good! Potato salad is top tier. Baked beans are perfectly sweet and bbq style. Collards and cabbage made exactly like Thanksgiving time. The pecan and lemon pound cakes....so moist and yummy. Plus they give u a huge slice. Overall portions are generous and that is truly underrated this day and age! The only things that I ordered which I didn't like was the fried fish and the strawberry lemonade. Overall this is one of the best places I've eaten at since I relocated to Upper Marlboro! It is so freakin delicious!

The smoked wings were fall off the bone tender but they could have used a little bit more seasoning. The brisket was equally tender: It was hard to pick it up without it falling apart. Really good brisket. Generous portions too. The barbecue sauce they use is mustard-based. A little different than what I'm used to but not bad. Definitely more tangy than I expected. The macaroni and cheese was decent but again, it was missing something. The candied sweet potatoes were really good... A little sweet to break up all of the savory. The restaurant itself is really nice looking inside. Lots of tables and even a bar top with a few chairs. They had that AC cranking in there, and it was comfortably cool inside. (It was very warm outside the day that I visited, so all of that cool air was very much welcome).

Smoked wings were A1, easily the best thing on the plate. Jerk wings were solid with good flavor. Fried wings were bland and needed seasoning. Fries were regular but very salty. Sweet potatoes were bad, tasted like heavy lemon concentrate and I had to throw them away. Mac and cheese had that roux base, good cheese flavor, and a creamy balance, best side for sure. Service/Timing: This is where it hurt. Food took an hour and 20 minutes. For wings and sides, that's excessive. No updates or anything that justified the wait. I'm assuming cooked to order, but sheesh. Value: $35 feels high, especially after waiting that long and not enjoying everything. Between the bland fried chicken, overly salty fries, and inedible yams, the consistency wasn't there.Price rating: 2 out of 5. Highlight: Smoked wings! Wrap-Up: The smoked wings and mac and cheese carried the meal, but the long wait and inconsistent sides made it hard to justify the price. At $35 and an hour plus wait, everything needs to hit.

It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

Definitely feel for the staff, but they served orders with a smile. The combo itself was good - with promise of greatness - but not quite there. First, the mac & cheese - cheesy with soft macaroni pasta as you should expect . It had the right consistency and flavor balance without too much salt of cheese flavor. Second, the beans - a medley of beans, peppers, onions and homemade BBQ sauce...sweet, mildly spicy with a vinegar base. Finally, the brisket - cooked to perfection, but lacking any flavor from the dry rub. Paired with the homemade BBQ sauce, it was damn good...but just okay without. The disappointing aspect being that the meat was not even warm. With an outside temperature in the 90s, I would have expected something above room temperature...but okay.
