Ask if he provides tastings, check out his personal website, ask to meet with him for a basic free consultation. You will be disappointed! We originally met for a basic consultation. We felt like we were being manipulated into signing with him because " we were like friends" he quoted us about 8,000 to feed 100 people. The so called friend rate. After our meeting we started getting harassing emails/ phone calls pressuring us for the 8000. ( again this was 1 year prior to our wedding and all we did was have a first time consultation) when we told him we were not going to use him Michael demanded 1000 or he would sue us for the full amount. We got a lawyer. We did not owe him anything since no services were given. Good luck to any one who reads this. They have a check in offer for a sweet tea, which is good. I also got the vegan pot pie dinner, which comes with 2 sides for $14. I got the fried okra and the baked beans. The pot pie is hearty with a flaky crust. The baked beans are sweet (maybe a little too sweet for my taste, but not bad). The okra is crispy, but honestly not very flavorful. I've doused them in the house made hot sauce, which is helping, but seems like they would benefit from a creamy sauce. Appreciate the flavorful foods here (aside from the okra) and the couple of vegan options. Maybe opt to sit outside if you visit anytime soon.

Suddenly my eyes shot open, the fine harlot was Remi, asking me to move along, so the other guests could get some food. We, as Coloradans are blessed to have this unique and top-quality ranch right in our neighborhood, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It has the finest viewpoints from red rock formations, canyon lands, a rushing river, a gorgeous, authentic ranch with multiple trails of varying lengths and endlessly pretty viewpoints, no matter the season. Staff have always been perfectly fun, engaging, safe, and accommodating. But I am definitely saving the best for last... the horses !!! I have never ever been disappointed in the horses I've ridden here. I'd tell you the names of my favorites, but I'll save that for you to find on your own. They are just how you hope they'd be. Healthy, well-cared for, strong, stable, and light to your requests. They are also light and sure on their feet even as they cross rocks, and all kinds of natural Colorado native brush. I fall in love with this place and my horse more every time I visit. This is your trail ride! This is your place! This is your horse making epic memories.

The not good: they struggle mightily to get food served. I mean every single meal. Every one. UNSAT. They know exactly how many guests they have yet run out of food so fast during service. It's ridiculous. The cabins. Sometimes 'old for the sake of being old' just doesn't work. Modern plumbing fixtures and plumbing are not the devil. Example: I don't need to experience 100 year old bathing experience in a cabin with a brand new air conditioner. Also - don't put quilts on the beds with a sign that says don't use the quilts as they're for decoration. Lighting: pick a lane. LED or Incandescent. Using both just looks cheap. Onsite maintenance support: having the bulk of the cabins with no water is a real problem. Not having people onsite to immediately address that problem is even worse. Trash: a little trash can in the room doesn't cut it. Either put out trash bins for people to use that can be secured or have your staff collect trash daily. Key drop: if you want cabin keys returned to the office then either have an employee there before 0830 or have a key drop slot. The potential is there for this place to do so much better. That said this trip had me stay in 4 different hotels. Sylvan Dale was far and away the most expensive rate and they rank last out of last of a spot we'd revisit. Note: I don't do the trail ride or any other activities so those don't factor in to my feedback. This is strictly about accommodations and hospitality.

This is the only negative review I've written about any of our wedding vendors. We went with these guys because they were in Fort Collins since we got married near there, they seemed reasonable in price (cheaper than most of those we got quotes from), and they had good reviews overall. However... I was not impressed. They started out seemingly easy to speak with and get info from, but immediately after we made a down payment I started struggling with them and it continually got worse the closer we got to our wedding. There were times I felt they lacked in responsiveness to questions we had, they were unhelpful and often rude in answering questions the closer we got to the wedding, and made our payment process super difficult (we accidentally cut a check that was an over payment and instead of simply providing a refund they added stress to our plate by voiding the check and making us render new payment - I've not had other vendors in the past do something like that so I was super shocked at how unprofessional they were in handling this, and this was never discussed with us as a company policy of theirs so we were caught off guard). Even being on the other side of our event by a couple weeks I'm still so frustrated with how we were treated. Also, I recommend to all other couples looking to get married carefully read the fine print, they will gauge you for anything they can (be it removing a line item and being fined for it or outrageous cost for setup that they didn't discuss ahead of time). I felt like the closer we got to the wedding the harder and more frustrating they were to work with, and didn't even give us an adequate delivery time window until basically right before the wedding which was very difficult when we were trying to juggle so much stuff at the same time. Thankfully everything got delivered and picked up and seemingly without trouble, but ultimately I will never again rent from them and wouldn't recommend them to others. Additionally the owner's inability to take feedback and work with a customer to remedy their experience shows to me a lack of effective leadership and a disregard for their customers. Ultimately to me reiterates that had I known then what I know now, I wouldn't have done business with them.

I tried calling Dorothy the morning of the wedding with some questions and to confirm last minute details, yet never heard back from her. She brushed me off, responded annoyingly to me saying she doesn't have a cell phone and was doing a wedding that morning. I'm sorry, but you cannot be in catering and NOT have a cell phone. It was 2012 at the time. She had a bad attitude and was incredibly snappy with me. I was an extension of the customer and her customer service was lacking. Her food was okay at best. The wedding had around 70 guests and they couldn't keep up, which I've had dinner parties for that many and I've kept up.
