Our room was nice and quiet and the bed was super comfy. They had a kitty named Tammy downstairs that was up for adoption so I loved that they were working with the local animal shelter to find her a furever home!! My only complaint is that our room had a chemically pool smell. Not sure if it was what detergent/cleaning products they were using but it was strong. Not a bad hotel to stay at ... just a little (or a lot) outdated. Outside is in desperate need of being painted or pressure washed, & the inside needs to be updated. If you're like me, and you probably aren't, you enjoy occasionally reading reviews of hotels and restaurants in countries the typical tourist doesn't visit, places like North Korea, for example. And if you do read such reviews, you'll see that the hotels are often well-maintained and are in a way, time capsules. The Riverview Inn is like that. It's like a well-maintained 1990s-era Hilton, kept in a little capsule for you to experience. I stayed a night here as a good overnight stop between two destinations and I chose the Riverview Inn for its price and its downtown location. It was fine, but that's about it. Parking is free, which is nice, and the lobby is a little updated. Then you exit the elevator into the hallway of your designated floor, and everything changes. Green floral carpet, very low ceilings, dim fluorescent lighting -- ah, I remember this, and, frankly, it's a little bit eerie. But little things let you know that, even though the rooms are holding fast on that 1990s design, there is some effort to modernize. For example, proximity RFID room keys. If this really was a 1990s hotel, you'd have those old hole-punch room keys. Remember those? Yeah. Awesome. Also, a flat-screen TV. Cool. And maybe there's something to be said for making those changes, rather than putting a new comforter on the bed that has an updated, more understated floral design. Everything works. Essentials are met. Maslow is satisfied. Breakfast is also fine. Ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express? It's a lesser version of that. Pre-made, pre-formed pastries and eggs. It's fine. You won't go back for seconds unless you hate yourself, but it's basic breakfast at its minimally acceptable range. Eat and hit the road, it says. Considering the above (and managing expectations), I'd stay here again. I was able to walk to two different local breweries (a third closed before I could make it there on a Tuesday night) and stumble home safe and sound. Sleep, check-out, and get out, with a good location. Works for me! read more

The bed was comfy. And there was a Kuerig IN ROOM. That's the 2 stars. Let's start at the check-in. Nice staff. Facilities seemed nice. Hard to find a parking spot, was a large event going on. After a long day of travel, I wanted to sit at the hotel bar and enjoy a nice cold one, but, alas, the bar was being used for the event. Wait. What? Got to the room. Seemed ok. After a long day of travel, would have been nice to have taken a shower, but no shower curtain? Wait. What? I called down to the desk, they said they would send one up shortly. Didn't seem shocked enough for me, so I'm thinking this may not be the first time? Bed seemed comfy, but the pillows were throw pillow size. We had four pillows, which seemed like only 2 to me. We had a room with a view of the river, nice view, but not as nice as it could have been, not sure if it's salt or what kind of build up, but the windows do need some attention on the outside. Slept ok, quiet neighborhood. Got up the next am to take a shower (shower curtain had been sent up and installed while we were out that evening). Turned on the hot water, almost instant, loved that. Got in the shower and thought for sure I was back home again. And that is not a good thing. Growing up on the farm, when the cows would drink from their water buckets, the pressure would change and you would get very cold water. I had to very quickly take a shower as the temperatures changed from very cold to very hot without any warning. Check out was nice. No issues. Would I go there again? Maybe. If they fixed the water issue. And the bar was open. I cannot comment on the breakfast, we did not have any. read more

Wow! I read reviews on Expedia and said it was a 4 stars. Not even close. The outside of the building was the first red flag. Surface needs to be cleaned. Double pane window seals are broken and windows are damaged. You can't hardly see through them. Hall carpets were filthy. I will up load pics. Room carpet was damaged. Because of this we didn't eat the free breakfast. My husband thought the bed was fine and bathroom clean but needs an up grade. We won't be back. read more

The room was ok but my main problem was the pool. Both my kids got an eye infection and they had to close the pool. We will be visiting the Dr tomorrow as it's been 3 days now and it's still not gone. Not happy. Also the tub/shower was the smaller shower ever! An adult has to stand sideways to fit into it. Place is a mess. The lobby is brand new but don't let it fool you. The 5th floor had green carpet covered in stains. There is one stain that leads from the elevator the whole length to a room. My bathroom door only opened half way because the bent floor caused the door to be stuck. The white grout was covered in mold. The air conditioner was covered in mold. The shower head couldn't be turned and just faced the wall. The rooms carpet had stains. And to cap it off there were used socks from the previous guest still in the room when I arrived. This hotel was highly recommended by my boss when I made my first trip to the area, and I was not disappointed! I travel to Fort Campbell for work often, and after ONE experience at another comparably-priced Clarksville hotel, I will never stray from the Riverview again! It is clean, comfortable, equipped with a pool and gym, located in the heart of a darling downtown/river walk area, and a quick enjoyable walk from a few different restaurants. The staff is amazing, and they consistently go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. The free breakfast in the morning is tasty, and served in a very clean little area. The rooms with a river view actually do have a fantastic view. I also like that rooms on the top floor have limited elevator access, which cuts down significantly on noise when you have an early morning and need a good night's sleep. My husband and I tend to be pretty particular about the cleanliness and quality of our accommodations, and this place is a favorite of ours. We will continue to come to the Riverview Inn for as long as we have business in Clarksville! read more

This place probably isnt the best, the breakfast was good and so was the pool; but the coffee machine in the lobby wouldn't work and when the lady in the front office told me to remove the cup it spat an odd amount( not its normal dripping pace) of really hot coffee on my hand. So i was told just to use the Keurig in my room which just flat out didn't work. I had tried it in a few different outlets and it still didn't work so I ended up getting tea from the continental breakfast. Another thing is that half the outlets in the room did work either. Went here for Daycon this year. While I did not stay at the hotel, they seemed very clean and well kept (even while undergoing renovations!). The hotel staff was very polite and they were quick to deal with several of the issues the convention had. I would love to return and see what the hotel looks like after the renovations are done. We made reservations for Friday thru Sunday but we arrived a day early, hotel was very welcoming and we got a room a day early, we were in town for a retirement party and this was the closest hotel to the event, but the outside needed a power wash bad when we arrived inside it was nice and clean and front desk was very nice. Our rooms alone with others in our party was on the 7th floor, this floor was very nice my room overlooked the river, bed slept very well no complaints, we did not try the breakfast so I can't say.. overall I would stay here again. read more

The only thing that saves this hotel from getting one star is the price is very reasonable. The outside of the hotel looks like you are in eastern Bulgaria. The side of the building has old, dirty stains streaming down the side. The rooms are very dated. The bathroom is ridiculously small. The mattress is very soft - I'm guessing it is just really old. Adequate facilities but a far cry from a Ritz! Watch that parking! If you haven't registered the car with the desk staff they may tow you, as they were one guest during my arrival. Very pleased with my stay here. Given a renovated room on 7th floor.....spacious, comfy and well appointed. Had some noisy families near me, but not reflective of hotel or staff at all. Staff was outstanding! Public areas redone and lovely. 24 hr. coffee in lobby, and good, too. Would def. recommend and repeat. Be sure to ask for a renovated room. Booked the hotel in order to be close to the "nightlife" (Blackhorse Pub and the Gilroy), but we ended up never leaving the hotel for a great reason! I walked in to a beautifully remodeled lobby. The outside of the building wasn't attractive, but the lobby was stunning. Booked a room on the 6th floor. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and had ample space. The woman who checked us in made sure we knew of the lounge, pool, provided us with locations we could order from, the works. She was fantastic! After showering, we decided to check out the lounge. We walked in to a dimly lit room with the feel of a dive bar, but no other customers. We sat down and began to talk with the bartender, planning to stay only an hour. We ended up staying until 30 after they closed due to the fantastic company of the bartender and other guests who came in. She was extremely attentive. The staff made the entire stay worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful and they look for a room on the highest floor facing the river first so that was nice. The lobby looked clean and up to date. The breakfast was good with hot and cold items. They also offer to go breakfast bags. The room was clean and the linens are nice. The bed was comfortable. The bathrooms are a bit dated but they were clean. The room had a musty smell and there were visible stains on the carpet. Seems most of the windows have heavy condensation on the outside of the window leading to dirty windows...kind of messes up the view. read more

The outside of the building is old and dilapidated. The first floor has been updated, however the rest of the hotel was older and outdated. The rooms are extremely outdated and lack several amenities. The breakfast was good, however and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Very happy with this place - comfortable beds, large rooms, and at a very reasonable price. Also has a much better location than any comparable hotels in Clarksville - it's pretty much the only one not on the highway. This place is very disappointing. I always look at the reviews and stars, however, these reviews are not correct. Where to begin? First, when we checked in, we wrre informed that a middle school world series would be here. Next, the room and carpet are very dated. My sister-in-law took a shower and the water wouldn't drain. We reported it and a lady came and drained it. However, I had to report it again 5 different times before the maintenance man came to fix it. One of the reasons we chose this place was the salt water pool, but it's pump wasn't working, so we couldn't use it. Then the refrigerator wouldn't get cold. We had stuff in there and had to throw away. They had to bring a brand new one. The beds and room wasn't made/cleaned properly. Finally, im just very disappointed with the great reviews and wanted others to realize this is not an excellent place to stay. read more

After traveling 3 hours for the only hotel available with an indoor pool for the kids we waited almost 2 hrs in line only to overhear the clerk tell someone on the phone that the website has been messed up and she only has two rooms left,there were at least 20 people behind us so I ask, "if we reserved a room online tonight do we have a room reserved now that we've been waiting so long and she tells us no, I'm sorry, the next two in line will get the only rooms we have left. After dragging all our luggage back to the car there were even more guests in line waiting for a room they would not get. Luckily for them I told them they're wasting there time and she finally confirmed only to those who went up and asked. The indoor pool we expected was also closed for maintenance and the bar closed before we even left. This was my husbands birthday night and there were no hotels with vacancies so we had to drive all the way back. I've never been more disappointed in my life, I couldn't believe there was only one clerk working and she wouldn't even tell all the families with children sleeping all over the lobby from the minimum of an hr and a half wait to find out what she knew all along! I also heard her say she's been trying to reach the CEO for 3 hours! What kind of establishment is this? I recommend only going here if u go inside to reserve and make sure the amminities your looking forward too are actually in service. read more

My friend insisted on being in close proximity to the Cumberland River so the Riverview was a great choice. This was my second stay in this hotel since 2012. Each stay has been remarkable. Please don't get turned around by the outside of the building, it could use some pressure washing. The staff is very nice and the accommodations are clean and updated. We booked on very short notice and the staff could not have been more accomidating for me and my husband. The room was clean and it was a safe environment. Continental breakfast was more than I expected for the price that we paid. If this place was a chain I would go out of my way to book wherever I went. A+++++ from us and they made a difficult week bareable for us. Also want to say thanks to the lady in reservations who more than accomidated us. the non smoking rooms were even a better plus!
