Initially, upon my decision of going with Special Moments, I met with Patrick A. in the office, and he was just super nice, and awesome about explaining every aspect of the process to me, finding a package that fit my budget and needs, and he even was nice enough for giving me a little deal because of my husband being active duty in the military. He did not have to do that, and that's what really cemented my decision to go with them. Carrie B. was my photographer and she was great about keeping in contact with me about any and every question and concern I had during the entire process. She was super adaptable to the style of photos I wanted. The family photos were super pose-y, which is great for frames and family, and then she took AMAZING photos that were more candid and unconventional, which my husband, friends, and I prefer. She had a great personality, which was HUGE for me, because my husband and I are so awkward and uncomfortable being in front of the camera, so she made us feel less nervous with jokes and directing us where to put what appendage and how to tilt our heads and constantly telling me, "Jenni, oh my gosh stop crossing your eyes!! haha!" We even ran into a little situation right before the reception where there was another wedding's family blocking a staircase that is used for photographs. Not sure why, but the family became very rude with the wedding party when we asked them if we could borrow the staircase for 5 minutes for pictures. They became aggressive and started insulting my wedding party, and I was beside myself, because honestly, what a nightmare. Carrie B. came to the rescue and politely confronted the family and explained why we needed the staircase. She just took charge! And they listened! I was like...woah, okay, you go girl! I was totally impressed. Carrie also worked with my DJ to make sure the wedding schedule happened in such a timely manner that I did not have to worry about going over my time limit, and paying for an extra half hour or so to get all the major shots I wanted. She just kept things going right along! After the wedding, I was constantly in touch with Kristi in the office via phone and email. Yes, I am a control freak, and I had a million requests and questions, but she was always such a pleasure to talk to, and she made everything happen! She always responded to my emails within minutes, and gave me peace of mind. I got my online proofs within days. My prints, High Resolution Disk, and Coffee Table Book are all to DIE FOR, and I had them in my hands within a month after my wedding!! Kristi and I were constantly joking about which pictures to select for the prints and books because I had so many good shots to choose from, I swear I couldn't have done it without her help. Third you are just paying for the ceremony and guests only, everything else is an additional charge - rehersal the night before (its free the day of, where does that make sense), if one more person comes above your amount you give, they charge an additional $10.00 a head, if you want the sand ceremony you have to buy your own sand, the music is off a cd, and they say the provide flowers but only white ones if you want a different color she charges $50.00 and thats only to add a little touch of the color you choose. The biggest problem was we were given one price and then when we went to put our deposit down there was an additional $150.00 fee because it was on Mother's Day. Which is not a national holiday and was NEVER discussed on our first meeting. I am thankful I chose not to go with this chapel. But, if you do decide on this chapel make sure on you have everything on paper and make sure you have a copy.

When we started planning our wedding, we had no idea of where to start and didn't know the questions to ask. Ryan walked us through the process and helped us identify all the areas that we needed assistance. Ryan had suggestions for all portions of the planning and really kept our personalities and goals in mind as well as being mindful of our budget. We were in a unique situation where our first wedding celebration, originally planned for March 2020, was canceled due to COVID. Ryan helped us navigate a completely unknown situation and really took a lead in communicating with our vendors. We also had issues with our first venue and as it was unable to be used, she was able to help us recoup our expenses. Due to ever changing COVID regulations, we moved our celebration back until 2023. Once a new venue was found, Ryan worked with us to replan according to the new venue specifications so she helped us plan what amounted to two weddings at two locations. Our day was amazing. Everything was perfect and went according to plan. Ryan was available during the event for any needs, but her impeccable planning skills helped everything run so smoothly that we didn't really need anything. I had multiple attendees comment about how much they enjoyed the wedding and could tell it was a reflection of us as a couple. Even more importantly, my husband and I had an amazing time. I tell everyone that my favorite thing about the wedding, besides marrying my husband, was having Ryan as our wedding coordinator. She is amazing at her job and I felt like we all became close during the multiple years that we were working together. Having her involved in our wedding celebration was the best decision from both a financial standpoint and lowered my stress level immensely. We have recommended her services to friends getting married; they have enjoyed working with her too. This meant discounts for us, excellent customer service from our vendors, and her experience with individual vendors meant we could be sure they were excellent and reliable so our wedding weekend was stress free. She was also appropriately hands off when we wanted to pick certain things on our own. Ryan is just incredibly experienced and that's the type of person you need to plan a big wedding. Preparations for our wedding weekend went seamlessly. We live in New York so with the exception of 3 or so in person meetings, all our communication was by phone, email, and text. She was super available and responsive and notified us if she would ever be away. She gave us deadlines to keep us on track and reminders when these were approaching. Everything was organized on our chosen shared planner document. Due to Ryan's organization and calmness, we never felt overwhelmed during our planning. When we had concerns such as our budget, we brought them up to her, and she was quick to address them, either via email or over the phone. She was easy to schedule these meetings with and helped us frame how often we needed them. She always had an agenda for each meeting so they were actually quick and productive. On our wedding weekend, Ryan ensured that everything ran smoothly, so we were able to enjoy our events without any undue stress or consternation. Of course nothing was perfect due to unforeseen family drama and the like, but even though a few things went wrong, we never even knew because Ryan took care of everything. Because she's such a professional champ with events, she had extra napkins and disposable plates in the car, things like that. Ryan managed all these extra details like hand making our table assignment escort cards and creating a beautiful display in the women's restroom with all sorts of toiletries, mint, floss etc. She also had extra napkins and disposable plates and the like in her car, just in case. Its these minor details that she managed in a 3 day event for 200 people that make her a total expert event planner. We had numerous compliments on both wedding ceremonies. An hour after I talked with him initially (because our children were out of state), he had e-mailed the general vows that he uses with the explanation that he is pleased to include any readings or ceremonies that the bride and groom desire. (Our children both chose a sand ceremony.) His paperwork included that he did not work with wedding coordinators (or aunts or others who try and direct the wedding ceremony). Our family had no problem with this. Both sets of the brides and grooms met with Rev. O'Grady prior to the wedding rehearsal to discuss the ceremonies and their preferences. He came to the wedding rehearsal totally prepared and his wife assisted him at both the rehearsal and ceremony by getting the wedding party lined up and started off on the correcct foot. She explained to the women how to hold the bouquets for pretty pictures and was wonderful. . Both Rev. O'Grady and his wife were extremely gracious and patient with everyone including the 3 little flower girls and ring bearer at our son's wedding. The reason that I came across this negative review was because I was googling his name to obtain his phone number .Our niece is interested in contacting him to officiate at her wedding and asked me for his phone number.

A preface: of all the vendors from our wedding, this is our only negative review -- every other…read morevendor was wonderful. We hired Petit Fleur Events for our July 4, 2026 wedding. We're posting this so other couples know exactly what our experience was. Every statement below is documented in our signed contract, the vendor's own emails, or witnessed by our wedding party. Start with the contract itself. We paid a non-refundable $2,500 retainer based on an itinerary of services; when my now-wife asked -- twice, in writing -- what the actual contract was, the full terms were not provided until June 3, with the remaining balance demanded "by tomorrow," one month before our wedding. By then, realistically, there was no changing vendors. Those terms included a non-disparagement clause purporting to restrict clients from posting negative reviews. Had we seen that clause before money changed hands, it alone would have turned us away. (We're aware of the clause; everything here is factual, and we raised every concern directly and professionally with the vendor in writing first -- as it requires.) We signed a $5,332 agreement and paid $5,276 of it by June 5 -- in full under her payment schedule. At the design mockup -- held 18 days before the wedding, outside the 60-to-30-day window in her own contract, after she rescheduled it from the earlier date we requested -- my wife declined every single offered upgrade that came with a price. When dahlias were quoted at a $500 increase: no. Each time a cost was named: no. The pattern could not have been clearer -- we were staying inside our contracted budget. Then on July 1, three days before the wedding, we received a rewritten "itinerary of services" raising the subtotal from $5,276 to $6,733 -- roughly 26% -- built almost entirely from changes that had never been disclosed as carrying any price. There was no change order and no markup against the signed version: the contract's $1,051 courtesy discount was removed while other fees were waived in roughly offsetting amounts, and line items were silently added, deleted, and repriced throughout -- a wholesale rewrite in which nothing could be tracked against what we had signed. We had to reconstruct it line-by-line ourselves to find out what had changed. When we pushed back with the signed documents, the vendor claimed in writing that a line item "was added" in later revisions and that those arrangements "simply do not exist." That line appears verbatim in the itinerary she signed. After we quoted it back, she confirmed the arrangements would be provided after all. She also refused to provide the cake florals -- despite the signed itinerary containing a "Cake Floral + Table Décor" section she herself had priced at $50 -- and declined our written offers, made three separate times, to pay for requested additions through a standard change order. We were informed she would be on vacation from before our wedding through July 8. On the day itself, the boutonnieres fell apart during the event -- multiple members of our wedding party witnessed and can attest to this -- and in our opinion the arrangements delivered fell well short of the mockup we approved. Since our final email, we have received no further responses. Our advice to any couple considering this vendor: demand the full contract before paying anything, get every change in a signed written change order, keep every email, and compare every revised document line-by-line against what you signed. They were very accommodating each time we got rained out with picking out a new date. They went the extra mile in the planning stage, from scouting out a potential photoshoot site ahead of time, to suggesting times when our photo shoot location (the Arb) would be less crowded, to helping brainstorm ideas to make the photoshoot unique to us. My fiance and I are not big PDA people and were feeling a bit awkward and nervous about doing a photoshoot in a public space, but from the start, Abben and Lily made us feel comfortable. Day of, they helped directed us in natural-looking poses and providing fun suggestions that had us laughing, which made for some wonderful pictures and good memories behind those photos. Abben and Lily both have a fabulous artistic eye for photo composition, and they truly listen and integrate your goals for the photoshoot. They make the photoshoot unique to you. After the shoot, their downloading interface is extremely easy to use, and they are prompt in their photo delivery (ours were delivered in little over two weeks). In terms, of price, they are a true steal for the high quality work they do! We are so happy and feel very blessed to have had Abben and Lily document these memories for us, and would have hired them to do our wedding too if it were taking place in Michigan. These two are gifted artists, and we heartily recommend them to everyone!

But know…read morethat with his attention to detail, his knowledge of DSLRs, and his eye for aesthetics, I would be giving this business a 5-star rating after my session with him even if he had been hired as a stranger. So Abben, my fiance at the time to whom I was newly engaged, and I all happened to live in different states - which made scheduling an engagement photoshoot difficult. So what better time than a shoot on the sandy beaches of the Dominican Republic while on a family vacation? To avoid unflattering shadows, the best times for a shoot are sunrise or sunset, and sunrise is definitely easier to have the beach of a resort all to yourself. But alas, cloudy weather for the only two mornings we had free! Abben not only woke up at 4:00 two mornings in a row with us but dealt with the tricky situation like a champ. After processing the photos, we were really impressed with the adjustments he had made. And speaking of editing, let's just say a long bike ride and insufficient sunscreen led to some awkward tan lines all over my back and shoulders that he also magically erased like a pro. Note that even though Lily wasn't able to be there for our shoot, normally both photographers would be present for double the awesomeness. That makes their pricing an amazing deal because most photographers would charge extra for another camera. Abben & Lily's style tends to be more posed for something like a photoshoot but more photojournalistic for an event. This is helpful for those who aren't trained models (most people) or maybe even hate being in front of a camera because you'll receive great instructions so you feel less awkward. And for an event, they'll blend into the background but still get all the pics you need. Look through the portfolio for these two and you'll see that they pour their hearts plus all their creative juices into their work. The only reason we didn't go with them for our wedding photography was that Abben was in the wedding party, and I wanted him to enjoy himself at the wedding. Otherwise, I couldn't recommend these two more!
