They will charge you $45 more at the desk than what was indicated online. They will book Wedding photos in the middle of the course and delay your round. As this was a twilight round, this delay resulted in our round being cut short by 3 holes. When you bring it up to the head pro, he will rudely push you away and not take responsibility. Very disappointed in my experience at this resort. Will not be coming back here again, and will not be recommending to anyone that golf's in the Vernon region. read more

This is specifically for the edge restaurant. We came here because the view seemed to be unparalleled, and we're really hoping the food matched. We had high hopes for the food and unfortunately, it did not hit the spot. We tried a couple differing things on the menu and everything was Quite bland, and some of the choices were interesting. For example, premium steak made into a stew, etc. The view is unparalleled and great for a selfie however, we came away, still wanting in the food department. read more

My second round of the day was at The Rise Golf Course. The Rise Golf Course is about an hours drive away from Kelowna the small town of Vernon. Finding this course was a bit of the challenge. You keep driving up and up this unmarked and unpaved road until you can drive no further... than you've reached The Rise! Our tee time was 5 pm. There were not a lot of golfer on the course so the kid running the pro shop let our group on a bit early. The Rise reminds me a lot of Chateau Whistler. The course's yardage looks short but the dramatic elevations add a degree of difficulty to play here. Looking down from the top of The Rise, golfers are treated to some very beautiful views of Vernon and the inlet. The only negative is that playing golf at twilight here exposes you to the mosquito fest! When the sun starts going down those pesty insects come out! That afternoon the mosquitoes were treated to big Chinese buffet! Haha! I have to admit I quit scoring my game! It was impossible to concentrate on putting with mosquitoes buzzing round your face. I was told this course has been around for 6 or 7 years. It's kind of sad to realize that the course's amenities are on the pathetic side! Their clubhouse is a big tent! There is no discernible way for you to get some decent food here! All I can say is I hope these guys find some rich Asian investors and get a big infusion of $$$! It's sad to think they developed this beautiful track and we have to stand by and watch it withering away cuz no one wants to or can water it with money! Still I for the most part enjoyed playing golf at The Rise! The course is well maintained and pristinely manicured. The greens were quick but fair. The holes were challenging but fair. The golfer who plays this course will say he was definitely entertained! read more

This is an over priced course with a layout that gets changed and worsened every year. The 18th should be a hole to remember not a tee box set in the middle of a fairway to a dinky little par 3. Waste of money and time to play this course when there are so many other better valued courses throughout the Okanagan valley. read more

I never feel good posting bad reviews but I do like to warn others before they spend their money and time. As I understand, the course is under new ownership and there is some financial issues. There is no permanent clubhouse or restaurant. The old clubhouse and restaurant (which was just a trailer) is visible on the first and 18th holes (along with 80 abandoned golf carts). Now, there is a tent set up for the pro shop and some portable toilets as there is no running water. The greens had just been punched and I am sure they would normally be good as the fairways and tee boxes were in good shape so I won't complain about the shape of the course. I was more disappointed with the design. There are a lot of blind shots and very few markers to help you. If you played this course all the time, I'm sure it would be ok but if you are trying to attract tourists (in The Okanagan) then you might want to make it more obvious of where to hit the ball. Start with some barber poles at 150 yards out. I hope the course can work out their issues because the views are beautiful. Unfortunately, I think Fred Couples would be embarrassed to see the course today. With so many great courses to choose nearby, I highly doubt that I will play this course anytime soon. read more
