High-End Expectations, Disappointing Course Management Our group of six booked through BC Golf Guide and arrived at the Ridge Course at Predator Ridge with very high expectations. The arrival experience certainly felt first-class: the practice facilities were excellent, and the starter was professional and clear about maintaining an appropriate pace of play. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated quickly. By the second hole, it was obvious that the group ahead of us was paying little attention to the players behind them. Our round ultimately took more than five hours. When we raised the issue with the first course marshal, his only response was essentially, "Yes, it's slow," and nothing was done. A second marshal eventually intervened, but we were already on the 15th hole, so it was far too late to make a meaningful difference. The cart restrictions made matters considerably worse. In addition to the four par-3 holes, five par-4 or par-5 holes were designated cart-path-only. On several of these holes, the restriction made little sense based on the apparent course conditions. Because this is a demanding mountain course with significant inclines, repeatedly walking from the cart path to the middle of the fairway and back was extremely difficult--particularly for members of our group who have undergone knee surgery. At approximately $300 per golfer, we expected much better course management, more effective pace-of-play enforcement, and clearer consideration of how extensive cart restrictions affect golfers with mobility limitations. Predator Ridge presents itself as a premium golf destination, and parts of the experience reflect that. Unfortunately, the management of our round did not. This resort is not safe for women or children. This weekend, my family stayed at Predator Ridge. My 20s sister and I went to the pool to tan one afternoon. We walked past a group of 15-20 men who jeered at us from the hot tub. We set up our chairs to tan at the end of the pool away from them, but the group quickly moved to the pool, yelling at us to come in. One called me "gay" when I ignored him, and another did cannonballs, splashing us and our phones in our chairs until we got up and left to avoid any escalation. Believe it or not, this was not a group of teenagers but a group of bald and balding, blobfish-like middle-aged men. I appreciate Damian and Mitch for responding to the pool incident by going to talk to the group of men and bringing us a bottle of rosé after along with their # for any other needs. However, the Predator in Predator Ridge held strong. The next day, my mother waited in line at the Predator Ridge Pro Shop. The golf shop cashier, upon reviewing a customer's set of worn clubs, compared them in front of my mother to "that old girlfriend you can't shake," and the customer said * "Yeah, like the ugly redhead". My mother was appalled. Since I choose to be around men who can achieve unpaid relationships, I haven't heard locker room talk like this in years. Predator Ridge seems to be an excellent place for lonely men to meet other lonely men and pretend that women don't find them repulsive. Please stay away if you are a woman or have children. I worry for the young girls who work at the resort. read more

The service at this resort is terrible. They will not clean your room, won't bring clean linens or other amenities. If you want clean linens you have to pick up at the front desk. So.. for $540 a night you get nothing...and when you leave they charge you a $40 cleaning fee. Incredible. Additionally, the restaurant is not open for breakfast. You can't check in until 4:00 pm but if you leave your belongings in the room after 11:00 on checkout day, they will lock you out. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Save your money and stay somewhere else. read more

One of my most fav places for a round in the Okanagan. There are two courses here. Again, this is a resort destination, so expect top quality service and attentiveness. Watch out for rattlesakes if you play in the summer. They like to sunbathe on the rocks sometimes. You may end up taking an unplayable lie penalty stroke if you hit your ball near one. =) read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE! Management/ service very weak. Cleanliness totally lacking here. Big prices for what is no better than a cheap $100 hotel. We were put in the middle of a very uncomfortable disgruntled staff situation. Totally INexcusable. Just a few of our issues: - door to room pushes open w/o key - carpet has disgusting stains - windows filthy - huge wasp nests on deck therefore could not sit out on our deck!! - broken and dangerous deck furniture - cheap equipment- coffee maker off the ark, hairdryer so archaic that I could dry my hair faster with my own breath -NO cleaning of room for 5 day stay; constant lies and broken promises from staff and manager - at Predator THEY like their music LOUD! It's loud in the back shop, in the village. Doesn't matter if the paying client doesn't like loud music!! Like everything we are just supposed to deal with it. - staff argues with customer re customer concerns Too bad; ambience is great but this place is just posing as a classy resort. Very disappointing. August 12/15 Management offered a reasonable solution in light of our past stay. They were professional and understood our concerns. Thank you. read more

Played the Predator course. The fairways were in pristine condition. The weather was a bit cold and we had some sprinkles but overall we survived the round. Green fees were a hefty $114 per round. Certainly not a king's ransom but not something to sneeze at! I would say for $114 I would rathe play the Ridge course. Predator was a bit on the boring side. And I don't like the blind shots on some holes. Next time if I can't get on Ridge I would rather not play this course! read more

I've had a few meals up here (up on the hillside overlooking the valley) and I just thought the light was magical, the view was a million dollar freebie and that I was lucky to live in the most beautiful part of Canada. Absolutely awesome. First off the drive in just driving up to the course you feel like your rich and have no right being there. But once you arrive you are treated first class from the valets to the staff. We played the ridge course and will be going back as soon as I can to play the predator course. The only thing holding back 5 stars is the good. It was okay bug overpriced 3 scallops for $17 and my steak sandwich was quite chewy. I highly recommend playing these courses read more

During my visit I was told a message had been given from TWO separate people to the manager to help resolve the issues I experienced at the resort. The manager never followed up. After checkout I got the usual email asking for a review of my visit. The connection was not made that I was the same person ignored during my visit. Once again the staff made the same offer that the management would deal with my concerns. They did not. Their response was in so many words "so sorry, so sad, too bad" Now I see a similiar comment has been left here on this site from someone at Predator Ridge saying the management would like to speak with me about my disappointing experience. Just spent 4 days at Predator in their cabins. This review is about the golf courses. I've played here every year for the past 4 years. The courses are in great shape and fun to play. Ridge is better than Predator. My complaint is our 1st day tee off was at 1:35pm as we were only arriving that day around noon. It was about 35C and 100% humidity. At no time were we advised there wouldn't be a refreshment cart out on the course. We bought a bottle of water each to start thinking we would be able to buy more from the refreshment cart. Unlike many (i.e most) resort courses, Predator does not give you any free bottles of water. Unfortunately no refreshment cart came by. When we inquired after the 9th hole we were told no there isn't one on our course (Predator) but there is one on the Ridge. Why we asked? They didn't know why (although another employee says they were trying to save money). Don't know if that is true but completely ridiculous for a course at this cost for any reason. This is NOT providing the quality of service one would expect nor the image of a high end resort that Predator Ridge tries to have. The other courses we played (Gallagher's & Quail) all had refreshment carts and made money from us. Gallagher's also had water stations every 3 or 4 holes. We spent over $300. in their Restaurant for dinner and they can't provide a free bottle of water or the ability to buy one out on the course. I know this may sound like a silly/small complaint but it was very hot & humid with the air full of smoke from the fires and someone could easily get into medical difficulty without water. read more

I have been going to Predator for 20years with a large group of golf ears. The course is great and the accomadations are good. Most of the staff has been good over the years but gradually arrogance has developed with management and it is filtering down through the ranks. This years trip was a disaster and the golf pro was an absolute jerk as was the GM. We will never go back. There are so many great courses in the area where you fell welcome and appreciated. Currently staying at Predator Ridge for meetings. The service is very poor. Rooms not cleaned most days. Staff unhelpful or providing incorrect information when they do assist. Seems to be a lot of newly hired staff. Meeting rooms do not have appropriate IT amenities. Difficult to keep computers charged throughout day with lack of outlets in meeting rooms. Golfed with 2 girlfriends 3 weeks ago and were given a cart with a depleted battery. As there was a shotgun in the morning, staff were aware that carts were going to run out of power. However, no one checked on us. There was no way to contact the pro shop, and there was no amenity cart coming around. After pushing our cart uphill to the 12th hole concession, we were aided by the marshalls. Had to change carts 2x in the last 6 holes. Course was altered due to construction but still paid $170.00 in green fees. We left a complaint at the pro shop and also online and have not heard one word of apology. Terrible. We've been coming here for years. Use to stay in cottages. This year they gave us a tiny villa with a 1x2 size deck crowed by a table. No view of fairway only view of parking lot! Paying $1700 for 5 nights. What a sorry place to spend my spouse's birthday. So disappointed. The front desk wouldn't move us and they no longer give Sparkling Hill passes to resort customers. I doubt we will spend $3000 like in 2017. Again truly disappointed. read more

Came here for dinner with a large group. The restaurant was just opening for the season so the menu was very very limited. The two vegetarian options on the menu were nachos and potato chips. The chef managed to put together a mediocre vegetarian risotto. Service was no different. When I asked the waitress what type of risotto they could make and she said"vegetarian". In other words if you're a vegetarian don't come here. read more

With winter here and the main restaurant closed, we weren't sure how Pallino's the small pizza pasta shop would fare. We went on Saturday night for the pasta/pizza special for two. Had a great meal with a great bottle of wine for under $ 50. Decided to try the take home chicken special tonight and again for under $ 50 were very pleased. I am not sure how they will continue at these prices, so you better check this out soon, before the locals figure it out. read more
