Rex Summer Drink Menu

Great for music and hanging out for a few drinks and bar snacks. Nothing fancy but the ambience is great, especially during the summer. Outdoor seating with patio lights, an outdoor bar, and two indoor bars. The food was just okay. Also, plenty of other local small shops and restaurants within walking distance. Marina is a two minute drive from the bar.

Refund for fraud fees

This establishment is fraudulent! The management is a JOKE & LIARS! After a heated discussion the manager Kiera with a horrible attitude finally refunded my money for TOM PETTY TRIBUTE TICKETS $15 x2 because no one was checking or collecting tickets from anyone walking through the front door or back room. The manager knew she got caught up in fraud and tried to lie her way through my questioning in reference to why I paid for tickets while everyone else was just walking in for free! The blonde bartender in band room tried to give me an ice melted watered down drink bc she just happened to have a drink someone didn't want. Girl are you nuts I want a fresh drink not some watered down BS that been collecting dust on counter of bar within reach of guests to put anything in. The caught an attitude when I said I don't want that old watered down premade drink I want a fresh one especially since it was $11 for one tiny shot of Tito's and Red Bull. I have never had such a disgusting experience with females with no class...they don't know how to run a business and I will never come here. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about the trash of an establishment this place is a horrible bar DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

So we thought it looked like fine dining from the outside, but when you walk in it is more of a lounge. We did discover tables on the other side after we ate. Still loved it, but limited seating. The food was so good and our waiter, Derek, was awesome. Fish tacos were on point! You're welcome James!

Breakfast Burger: tomato, avocado, bacon and fried egg.

Although I live only about 15 to 20 minutes from this restaurant and bar, we've been reluctant to try it based on the Yelp reviews which seemed to have no middle ground. People either hate it or love it. Yesterday a group of old friends from the Navy got together for the funeral of a shipmate and decided to meet afterwards for dinner. Since most of the places in leonardtown were already booked and we knew there'd be at least six of us, the group decided to eat at the Rex. I was worried that parking might be an issue but at 6:30 p.m. there were still plenty of parking spaces on the street. The restaurant itself is in the front of an old movie theater which gives it an interesting vibe. The interior is given over mostly to a large bar, but there are at least 10 to 12 four seat high top tables. Outside on the sidewalk there were at least four tables that could seat four or five persons. There were only two or three other groups inside which may have explained why we got pretty good service. The menu is not extensive, mainly bar food. So if you're okay with burgers, sub sandwiches and pizzas you'll be fine. The bar featured a wide variety of beer on tap. Our group ordered a couple of pizzas, Philly chicken cheesesteak and two or three burgers. I ordered the breakfast Burger which was advertised as coming with sliced avocado, tomato, bacon and a fried egg. The burgers also were supposed to come with one side so I opted for fries. I asked for my burger medium and it came out mostly well done but even still it was a pretty good burger. You get a choice of ciabatta roll or pretzel bun. The fries which were advertised as hand-cut were not all that great; they actually reminded me of Burger King fries. Overall the burger was pretty good and I would order it again but I would ask for it rare and hope for medium. Our server was very friendly and efficient and appeared eager to make sure we were happy. The one drawback to the entire experience was the price, it was almost $20 for my burger and fries. Although the burger was supposed to come with one side, I was charged extra for the fries. So even though this was a pretty good burger, it wasn't worth 20 bucks. My rating scale on Yelp is three stars for restaurants to which I would return, four stars for restaurants at which I would like to be a regular, and five stars for restaurants to which I would drive out of my way. Based on this one experience the Rex is a solid 3 * for me.

We had a variety of food. All of it was good! Folks liked the lamb lollipops! Ends up costing a little bit to fill up unless you get a burger. Enjoy!

Eggs Benedict with spinach and Brie requested no English muffin. Would have been very good if hot. Sauce seemed straight from fridge.

This is my favorite place to eat in Leonardtown. The daily specials are always amazing! I love when they have crab or lamb on the menu.

It tends to slip our minds to dine in Leonardtown even though we're always in the area-we usually…read moreend up picking somewhere familiar when we find ourselves in the area and are wanting something to eat. However, yesterday we were extremely intentional about wanting a sit down dining experience somewhere in Leonardtown that we haven't been. We happened up on Sweet Bay. My husband made mention that a coworker of his said the food was really good here (he's formally in the restaurant industry so we trusted his opinion). Upon arrival we asked for a table for two but nothing was available. We were offered bar seating-which we accepted. Now to know me is to know while I enjoy a good cocktail, for me, sitting at the bar is never my first choice. The seating at the bar can be a bit uncomfortable; especially for the experience that we come to have. And when it's a new place we're trying, we like to run the full gamut-appetizers, mains, cocktails, and sometimes even dessert. We were really looking forward to a full dining experience here, and that would mean sitting here for a while, but we wanted to try the food out so we still decided to dine in. We were greeted by the bartender..his name is Josh. He was attentive without being overly so, he made great recommendations and he was really personable and commanded that bar. He explained the specials and he really was in tune with patron's needs. We started off with two appetizers-the oysters cargot and the spicy shrimp and my husband got the cream of crab soup. While they were all great, for me, the soup could benefit from some seasoning; specifically salt and maybe chive and/or even a sprinkle of old bay atop. The soup was creamy and rich and the sweetness of the crab definitely came through, but one or all of those additions would have elevated the soup. The only other ask I would have is that same bread that's served with the soup, be served with those oysters. I snagged some of my husband's bread and dipped it in the sauce that houses the oysters and it was a perfect bite and accompaniment to that dish. For our mains, my husband chose the special which was short ribs and a couple sides that came with that and I chose the Faroe Island salmon that came with pineapple, salsa, and cilantro lime rice. Both of our meals were fantastic-tens across the boards...wouldn't change a thing. The food was flavorful, cooked to perfection and well proportioned. We were so thoroughly impressed with this meal and while we normally wouldn't opt for dessert, we did-well my husband heard key lime pie and that was all it took. I of course take a couple of bites and can say with confidence it was probably the best Keylime pie that I have ever had...and I'm not the Keylime pie lover in the relationship, my husband is-but it left me in awe, and he loved it as well. I liked it so much that I got one to go for my mom, another Keylime pie lover, because I knew she would just love it. Spoiler alert, she did! Besides the food we opted for water and I enjoyed the strawberry spark cocktail I think it was called and a Long Island iced tea-both of those were executed flawlessly as well. Josh is great at what he does. All of the staff was friendly. The environment was cozy and intimate, and was reminiscent of the five dining experiences we have in Georgetown, downtown Bethesda and the like. It was such a great space. I am so happy we came in and we cannot wait to do it again. I would even sit at the bar again to chop it up with Josh!

Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes only water. Asked for a manager and all they said was sorry.read more

Mind you, I've had fantastic cheesesteak subs in Philly (home of the cheesesteak) and was not prepared to give very high marks for this rendition. But thankfully, the thinly-slices ribeye was cooked just right, the sautéed onions added the savory flavoring that only onions can provide and the Fit Tire Beer added to the liquid Orange cheese (Cheez Whiz or a variant) really added a unique cheesy flavoring. The roll was not seeded, but it was soft and held the meat and cheese together just fine. I only added a little salt and pepper because I do like my cheesesteak meat with some seasoning. After only 2 bites, I could tell this cheesesteak was a good one! I am going to try other items on the Greene Turtle menu now that I've sampled their cheesesteak sub! The waitress was friendly, engaging and very pregnant, but she did not appear to be uncomfortable and was attentive to our needs. The volume of the music from the overhead speakers was just a touch too loud, so much so, that waitress had trouble hearing my order, so I had to stand up slightly and talk louder than usual to make sure she could hear my order. Bottom line, the cheesesteak was tasty and satisfying and now I've found good purveyor of the cheesesteak!

The venue was also nice for fitting the whole party with plenty of televisions surrounding the restaurant. What brings my rating to a "2" is simply the food. It was not bad, but also not good. I had the crab soup. It was very salty and had a weak flavor. If you are going here to hangout, great; going to enjoy a delicious dinner? I think not...
