I just want to shout out the staff at Langdon Place of Dover. There is a warmth and caring among the staff, and it is reflected in the happiness and joy I see in the residents. We had been in another facility prior to moving my Mom to Bellamy Fields. The experience at the other facility was not good. Poor management and my Mom at 92 needed care that they just were not able to give her. Basic things were not provided at the other facility. There is absolutely no comparison. The care that the staff gives each patient/customer is outstanding! They call all patients by name. All staff are professional. If you need something they are there to assist you. Very responsive to all questions and concerns. My Mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Bellamy Fields where they tended to her every need/wish til the end. I do not recommend Bellamy Fields if you are looking for place for your loved one to receive end of…read morelife care. I had a terrible experience there with my beloved father. Once on hospice, we were harassed non-stop to place him on morphine even though he was in no pain or discomfort. This relentless barrage of interruptions and side-bars continued right up until his passing. In the final hour and a half of his life, two staffers entered the room against my will and yanked a pad out from under my father so hard that it tore in half. Due to that violent act, my peaceful father who was in no pain let out a primal scream, coughed twice, and then began to drown in lung fluids until he succumbed to his death an hour and a half later. The fact that they did not know that you never move someone who is dying and in no pain is reprehensible. My father's final moments on earth found him suffering and terrified. He was on track for a very peaceful passing until the staff came in and hurt him. Bellamy Fields is a great place for your loved one until it's time for end of life care. At that point, the nursing staff is untrained, unskilled, and reckless. In addition, there are no private rooms for the family and loved one to share their final hours. I give this place a huge thumbs down for end of life care. Unless you are looking for a place to administer morphine until your loved one loses consciousness, and then dies; if that's what you want...then this is your place.

I find the staff friendly, approachable and caring. I think they need more aides as it seems they are constantly on the run. There were some issues around housekeeping in mom's room, but it got addressed quickly. Im happy with the choice we made and it keeps getting better and better.

Mom always had what she needed and the staff went above and beyond with her, making sure she was eating, that she was happy and comfortable. I loved seeing her so well taken care of. The outdoor pavilion is a favorite spot for us - it's such a lovely place to sit, visit, and enjoy the view together. What really makes this place special, though, are the activities and events. They host fun themed events like the "Nifty Fifties," holiday celebrations, and even visits from Santa, which bring so much joy to the residents. One of the things I appreciate most is how much the staff encourages families to be involved. We're always invited to join in the events, and it truly feels like a community, not just a facility. Another highlight is the therapy dogs that frequently visit. You can see residents light up when the dogs come around - the smiles, the gentle petting, and the calm they bring are absolutely priceless. The staff is kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They go out of their way to make sure residents are engaged, comfortable, and treated with dignity and respect. It's clear they understand memory care and the importance of creating meaningful moments every day. If you're looking for a memory care setting that combines professional, compassionate care with a warm, family-friendly environment and beautiful surroundings, I highly recommend this place. Upon walking in for tour I heard a staff member speaking very impatiently in a loud voice to a…read moreresident. During the tour the staff person either ignored the residents we came upon, or tried to dismiss them. The place reeks of urine in certain areas, the hallway floor is uneven and is a fall risk. The patio overgrown with weeds, (to me is indicative of a lack of system of care and lack of care for beautiful environment for the residents). Housekeeping is lacking. Clean linen is stacked on top on dirty linen containers; infection control problem. There are huge outside-type garbage cans in the dining room. (We don't have those inside in our homes/dining rooms?!) Unfortunately my parent was admitted by other family members. Food is left, not cleaned up, on the tables, after meals. My family member's room began to smell badly of urine. She was not attended to in a timely manner - left for hours at time and not assisted to the bathroom. (Memory Care Unit). There were a few staff members who were very nice, however, her response to most became obvious and not positive. My family members thankfully eventually decided to move her to a different assisted living. I absolutely do not recommend this facility and wish that my mother had never been admitted there. This review is written by a person who operated nursing home/rehab centers in 2 states for 14 years, and spent another 15 years in health care management.
