I received acupuncture from Jorge when I was 40 weeks pregnant. I desperately wanted to avoid being induced or any other labor interventions and let Jorge know that my goal was to go into labor as soon as possible. I had a wonderful relaxing session where I felt comfortable and cared for. That evening I had a few minor contractions, then the very next day I spent the whole day having contractions which progressed to a quick smooth delivery before 9:30pm. I can't guarantee anyone else would have the same results as me but I feel that my time with Jorge was absolutely what made all the difference for me. I highly recommend Jorge! And I highly recommend going during their "community" acupuncture times (which makes it actually affordable to do). read more

We've been coming the The Remedy for acupuncture since last year. Thanks to our oldest son for finding this place. Jorge is awesome!! I can't say enough great things about Dr. Jorge Intal, PhD at The Remedy in Martinez! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and cared for. Dr. Intal is incredibly knowledgeable and truly takes the time to listen. He doesn't rush through appointments -- he asks thoughtful questions and really pays attention to what you're experiencing. What impresses me most is how intuitive he is. Every time I go in for my back and neck pain, he seems to immediately know exactly where my pain points are -- even the ones I forgot to mention. His expertise and attention to detail make such a difference. After each session, I leave feeling aligned, relieved, and noticeably better. Dr. Intal is also extremely patient and explains what he's doing and why, which makes me feel comfortable and confident in my treatment plan. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients' well-being and long-term health, not just quick fixes. If you're dealing with chronic back or neck pain, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Intal at The Remedy. It's rare to find a provider who combines deep knowledge, skill, and compassion the way he does. I'm so grateful to have found him -- he has truly made a positive impact on my quality of life! read more

It's the holidays but my son is very sick with an unknown illness and a I sent a desperate email to the remedy and even though they are closed for the holidays, Andrea called me to help. Let me begin by saying that I don't like writing this but I am still kind of in shock over a recent interaction with April. The saga began quite a while ago. I've had intestinal issues for several years and Kaiser has not adequately addressed them. I spoke with an acquaintance who sees Andrea, she loves the place, and recommended that I give it a try. She wrote the name and phone number on a Post-It. I have had numerous horrible experiences with alternative practitioners (a permanently dislocated and painful clavicle from a chiropractor, several thousand dollars paid to osteopaths trying to get it corrected, a physical therapist who bullied me into taking enormous amounts of NSADs for an Achilles injury which caused my intestinal issues . . . I could go on). I believe that doing the same thing expecting different results does indeed equal insanity, Kaiser wasn't helping me, yet I was really afraid to call. The Post-It was on my computer for nearly a year before I called, but I finally did. I had a consult with Dr. Sharma, she seemed nice, but I still balked at setting up an appointment. Eventually, though, I decided to bite the bullet and do it; the office visits are expensive, $375, and one must pay before one is seen. But I made the appointment, only to need to cancel it because, as I recall, I had a work conflict. I canceled within the allotted time and never received any verification of either cancellation or refund. After about three days, I called wondering what was going on and asked them to process the refund which they did. Fast forward to this past holiday season--my issues were not really resolving, in fact, they'd worsened, so I called again to make an appointment. I left a message asking that they give me a call when they returned after the holiday. Shock is the only word I have to describe the feeling I had when I read April's email telling me that I "was not a good fit" for the practice; she gave me a recommendation elsewhere. I said this to April in an email; as far as I'm concerned, "not a good fit" is a euphemism for "We don't want you here." I was never rude or disrespectful to anyone at that office. I have a condition that needs treatment, I can afford to pay--how else would one describe what "not a good fit" means? I have been a proponent of alternative medicine for the better part of half a century, and I believe in the effectiveness of letting the body heal itself . . . I can't for the life of me understand what prompted such a blatant judgment on their part. I am an artist and have been "not a good fit" for most of my life, but never have I been subject to such overt discrimination in a supposed medical practice. read more

I've been sending all of my clients and friends to Andrea at the Remedy, and they've had nothing but success. Whether it be weight loss, recovering from illness, leaky gut syndrome, allergies etc. This girl knows her stuff and more so. I have never been more satisfied to send people to a health and wellness establishment. Personal success. Lost 30 pounds in a program that she gave me and my joints don't hurt anymore due to the feedback she gave me after reading my blood & test results. She's opened my eyes to many different ways of a good healing process. Try out the Remedy. You won't be disappointed. Five stars!!! read more

I've been looked down upon and dismissed by healthcare providers my whole life. Eventually I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease which I was told there is no cure or anything they can do. I struggled for years until I found Andrea and the Remedy. Andrea is kind, patient, passionate and diligent. Discussing my failing health with Andrea left me feeling heard and hopeful, something I had never felt with any MD or NP before, since childhood. Grateful to have access to incredibly kind, meaningful and balanced medical help. Since following Andrea's protocols I've been gall bladder attack free, lost weight, and I no longer have 2-4 hour bouts of nausea daily. Lastly the customer service is quick and friendly! My supplements always come faster than amazon! read more

Amazing yoga experience. Small class sizes allow teachers to focus on the needs of those students. Instructors are patient and you will leave feeling empowered! Martinez needs more businesses like this one. They are right in downtown but parking is never a problem. 5/5 love it read more

I went in to see Andrea because I had been to the doctor many times with no help at all. I was having bad joint pain in my wrist as well as experiencing intermittent back pain after eating. I was tired all the time especially after getting plenty of sleep as well as experiencing an upset stomach all the time and having irregular bowel movements. I visited her 3 times over the course of a month and followed her instructions to a tee and I can say I've seen a 100% improvement and will continue to follow her instructions and see her regularly as a check up. I had the best experience here with Andrea as well as the results and customer service I wanted that I wasn't getting from a regular doctor. I was so glad to be able to get in to see her, there's so many people that want to be seen by her so make your appointment today! read more

Took a class with Curtis & I'd strongly recommend it to anybody who's either A) never done yoga B) is a yoga enthusiast/advanced yogi or C) has any intent to physically & mentally feel better. Clean & quiet studio in downtown Martinez fully equipped with a tea bar & amazing staff. Smaller class sizes make the experience feel more focused & intuitive. Good for any experience level. Will definitely be back & I can't wait read more

I love everything about The Remedy. I saw Andrea for some health issues I'd been suffering with for years and she knew exactly what I needed to do to fix them. I now feel better than I've ever felt. I also love the Pilates classes. For the first time ever I am hooked on an exercise class and look forward to going. I did the community drop-in acupuncture, too, and it was great. I've already referred people to Andrea and am taking my pre-school age daughter in to address her food allergies. read more

The Remedy in Martinez is a dream come true for our community and for ourselves. The classes are awesome as are the workshops and I am getting so much healing from Andrea's Functional Medicine, and this is not the first time I have gone to a Functional Medicine Practioner. She has a 6th sense about your health and healing and she is very kind and supportive. I feel very good and I know I am healing. I can't wait to start the Transformational Coaching with Stephanie next. Rebecca is also so friendly and helpful, and I appreciate her friendly face every time I enter. Every one at the Remedy is clearly committed to the health and well being of everyone, and if you just aren't feeling that your healing path or traditional doctor/provider is doing the trick , you have got to give this a try. It's a commitment but it's so worth it. Thank you Remedy! read more
