She responded by saying "a lot of the workers are in high school, and we start closing before 9:00 so we can get out of here." I kindly but with a bit of frustration explained that's not how business hours work, and that I felt it was poor customer service. She looked at me like I had three heads, said "OK thank you" and closed the window. The woman sitting eating her ice cream looked at me and shook her head. On our visit, the flavor was Chocolate twisted with Vanilla -- classic and crowd-friendly, which worked well for our small but mighty hiking crew. The night before, though, was Chocolate & Peppermint, which I probably would've vetoed. Honestly, I'd love to see them offer two flavors per night to avoid that scenario -- but hey, the place was busy, even on a cool, overcast evening, so clearly their model works. Another standout feature? The shape. Most soft serve comes with a tall spiral and a little point on top. Donnelly's? Not even close. Their cones are round and a bit flat on top -- totally different. They serve Hershey's ice cream, which is creamy, flavorful, and delicious. We ended up going back for several days in a row. Each day, they added new flavors. They also had different daily specials. The people running it were friendly, which makes for a pleasant experience. I wish them well in the future and look forward to going back here for years to come.

Our preset table was prepared with dinner menus and upon questioning this was told only dinner options were being served. Honestly we were a party of ten and this changed the price point and would've greatly impacted our choice for lunch reservations. To be clear, the website still shows the lunch menu. Anyway it was chaotic, had to ask for water repeatedly, no soda refills , and the food is mediocre at best. Wagyu burger at $26 is the least expensive item in the dinner menu ( versus most expensive on the lunch menu) and it is good. The garlic aioli on the bottom bun renders the bun useless and I regret not requesting that on the side. All over salted and overpriced.
