I have a thousand things to say about the red lion however I will only be voicing a few for you in this short review. First of all, not only do they have nice inviting and warm staff, but they also have a community of their own that really makes it feel like home. Second, the tea is to die for, I'm not playing, I will literally sacrifice my second born child just for another cuppa. The atmosphere is electric yet also feeling classically homely, it brings its area justice with its charm and poise. You wake up to a warm gourmet breakfast made with only what can be described as a mother's love, with the dining area bringing the experience into new heights that I didn't even know was possible. Yet things don't falter with time as in the evenings, you can kick back at the cozy Scottish saloon, with great folk to chat with. I must mention that they sacrifice their own convenient plumbing for better pipes for their clients, at the Red Lion, the client always comes first and you feel like family. However you don't just feel at home inside the Red Lion as it also brings together the village centre of Earlston with its colourful presence lighting up the square that undoubtedly entices you to come in for more. "Quality is not an act, it is a habit" -Aristotle and this is what the staff at the red lion hotel take into their heart and strive to achieve this with every passing visit. Though I've been to many hotels in the industry, none quite shine as gold in my memory as the Red Lion hotel. It truly takes the hospitality business to a new level. Highly recommend. 10/10 read more
