Parking here is very easy, plenty of parking along semaphore road and the side streets…read more The interior of the place does let the place down, there are tables and chairs that are nice enough to sit down and eat at though. The food was beautifully balanced, it wasn't very spicy but was nice. My friend and I both had vegetarian dishes and they were very hearty with many vegetables and good quality sauces. The cheese naan was to die for, very oily but tastes amazing. I might come back here. The food was good but there are plenty of beautiful places in and around semaphore road that are competing with this place. It is the best Nepalese place I have tried in Semaphore so far though.

My original introduction to Nepalese food was at another, more fancy restaurant in North Adelaide,…read moreand I really didn't like it much. A friend suggested I try Journey to Everest, and I must say that as a result of their excellent recommendation, I am now a convert to Nepalese food. In my view, it is Indian cuisine's sleeker sister. This restaurant offers not a large or lavish dining area, but one that punches above its weight. The surrounds are functional, and the service is OK, the food however is another story. Nepalese food appears to be less oily and lighter than its Indian counterpart, and that allows you to enjoy the flavour more fully. My favourite on their menu is the Madagascar Duck, a sublime feast of duck legs and a well chosen and cooked medley of vegetables in a curry sauce. No rice needed! Journey to Everest has now become a regular fixture for every journey to Semaphore!

Well that was outstanding! Not sure there are enough superlatives for this review. And I'm about to…read moremake a big call here....ready for it? I think this is the best Indian food I've ever had. Yes indeedy. The service exemplified what service should be all about. Greeted warmly by friendly staff members, all the little necessities were taken care of as one would expect. The service stepped up a notch when we were given complimentary papadoms 'to keep us going' since it was a bit busy (we hadn't actually been waiting that long but it was a lovely (and tasty) touch). It was when we decided to return a dish that was too spicy for our taste, that we really discovered their service excellence. The waitress apologised and we ordered a replacement dish. Neither dish appeared on our bill and the owner also came over and offered us complimentary naan. He saw us out after the meal as well. So friendly, so attentive and very generous. The food was so very delicious and so many dishes to choose from, many varying from the standard range. Full of subtle flavours and spices, with sauces of richness and meat that melted in the mouth. The fluffiest steamed rice I've ever seen and just awesome naan. A good wine list and some great international and local beer, desserts that sounded very tempting and a takeaway home delivery option rounded out the offering. My tastebuds are still tingling and as soon as I can find some more stomach space to fill, I'll be back!

Only ok and too be honest a wee bit disappointing. First…read moretime take-away. Decided to try some of the chef specials vice the traditional curries we would order. Had the goat curry; Morton bay bugs curry and the beef rendang. Goat sauce was top shelf, although the meat was very fatty. Bugs were very disappointing. Bug had no flavour or seasoning and the sauce bland. Beef rendang sauce also lacked any real flavours, but the meat was high quality and cooked to perfection. Might go again next week to try some more traditional curries. Could be an expensive vernture

I was recognised as soon as I walked in and greeted with a smile and was told they would be with me in a minute (they were already serving, you see) so, acknowledgement (tick)! Then a gentleman came out beaming , happy to serve and suggested the fried rice, which I ordered he disappeared to a kitchen where you could hear the sizzling. I also ordered the spring rolls and was given an extra one (looove spring rolls so this was hug worthy had I still been in store when I realised). As I left the little shop I was thanked for my support of their business which was lovely. There menu isn't exactly extensive at this stage, they've been open 5 weeks and are looking to build on their existing menu which comprises of Banh Mi (yay! Local Bahn Mi), ramen noodles, cold rolls and sushi. There are a few other things as well but that makes up the main body of their menu at this stage. The food was enjoyable. I can't say that its the best I've ever eaten - but it's solid, decent food. I will be re-visiting :)

A beautiful array of foods for 15 people in total and worked out to about $10.00 per head! I as usual ordered way too much but enjoying the leftovers today! Fresh, flavoursome, good honest food. Love the cold rolls and salt and pepper octopus! Thank you and we'll definitely be back again and again!!
