Parking here is very easy, plenty of parking along semaphore road and the side streets…read more The interior of the place does let the place down, there are tables and chairs that are nice enough to sit down and eat at though. The food was beautifully balanced, it wasn't very spicy but was nice. My friend and I both had vegetarian dishes and they were very hearty with many vegetables and good quality sauces. The cheese naan was to die for, very oily but tastes amazing. I might come back here. The food was good but there are plenty of beautiful places in and around semaphore road that are competing with this place. It is the best Nepalese place I have tried in Semaphore so far though.

My original introduction to Nepalese food was at another, more fancy restaurant in North Adelaide,…read moreand I really didn't like it much. A friend suggested I try Journey to Everest, and I must say that as a result of their excellent recommendation, I am now a convert to Nepalese food. In my view, it is Indian cuisine's sleeker sister. This restaurant offers not a large or lavish dining area, but one that punches above its weight. The surrounds are functional, and the service is OK, the food however is another story. Nepalese food appears to be less oily and lighter than its Indian counterpart, and that allows you to enjoy the flavour more fully. My favourite on their menu is the Madagascar Duck, a sublime feast of duck legs and a well chosen and cooked medley of vegetables in a curry sauce. No rice needed! Journey to Everest has now become a regular fixture for every journey to Semaphore!

Journey to Everest - Nepalese lamb curry with saffron rice and naan bread. This was my first experience with Nepalese style curry, and it was great.

Journey to Everest - Nepalese lamb curry. Great taste, not overly spicy, and the perfect portion size.
