I hope they're just in a transition period with their menu because.. what happened The steak options just say "steak" and don't list what cut you're getting. I could have asked but assumed for $45 I'd get something better than a thin cut ribeye I'd expect from an Applebees for $20. Wine menu was the same, just says "house wine" and lists different grape varieties but nothing specific on the wine. One of the most generic menus I've ever seen and would expect a lot more from a place like this. I also thought the cups used to be glass but most of them were the plastic cups you get at a diner. They still had glass cups for more specialty drinks like wine and coffee but soda and water were in plastic. I was also pretty sure they used to have cloth napkins and those are gone too. I feel like this place is too expensive to skimp on little details like that. Staff is still great but they seemed really overwhelmed and we did also show up pretty late so I can't blame them for being gassed This place is beautiful, they had someone playing the piano and it was a really nice atmosphere, but like I said I hope they're just transitioning between menus and dishwater because this visit was super disappointing. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The food was completely bland, overpriced, and low quality. I ordered the "ribeye" steak for nearly $50, and what came out was literally a thinly sliced chuck roast pretending to be steak. Calling that a ribeye is dishonest and unacceptable. The wine selection was supposedly "being revamped," but what that really meant was boxed wine being passed off as premium. And if it wasn't boxed wine, it was cheap, sour-tasting wine that might as well have been vinegar. To make things worse, the bartenders didn't even know what a daiquiri was. I was told they don't make them, until I explained that it's literally just vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup--only then did they realize they could "mix those things together." Absolutely unprofessional. The only saving grace was our waitress--she was kind, patient, and did her best with what she had to work with. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely set up, but that doesn't change the fact that the food and drinks were terrible. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. This amazing restaurant is under new management and I have been spoiled by some of their dishes. The rave for this review is the service . The bartender named Raymond assisted us during our visit. He was professional, and knowledgeable on drinks and the menu. We tried things that we would normally not try. Now to the food, amazing and flavorful. The sweet potato paired with crisp thin flakes of Brussels sprouts. Who would've thought of this concoction? I highly recommend this location as a place to dine in while your in town read more

It's hard to give this restaurant one star. The food is inedible. The manager is the chef so you can't complain about the bland over cooked meat. They don't have any of the wines on the wine list. The tap water was more like toilet water. I am not exaggerating. The servers were not trained. Please do not waste your time on this establishment. We paid the entire bill and tipped the waitress. This used to be our go to date night restaurant in the years past. We're done! read more

Tried to get a reservation, got a response asking for a time, to which I responded...and then zero follow through from them. I tried to verify the day before the reservation (even though we hadn't solidified a time) was still valid...no response again. Had many people speak the graces of this place, wife and I do date night 2 times a month...the Rawls is off that list. Corks and cattle however as well as some locations in Dothan are great for date nights if anyone is looking! read more

A group of us recently ate dinner, the food and service was good. But when we got our checks, the price on the bill did not match the price on the menu. Mine was only up charged 3$, but 2 of the people in our party were up charged 7$. Also 20% gratuity was was charged on the greater amount. They did refund us the difference but also stated I've told management. So they are aware of this problem and just hoping people don't notice. read more

What a gem! I did not expect to find a fancier restaurant in town but this definitely filled the gap! This is attached to a cute and historic hotel with an old fashioned, charming vibe. We arrived fairly late and we were lucky they were able to seat us as the last party. I could tell by the other guests that this is definitely a date night type of restaurant. I think there was live music being played over piano around the corner somewhere but I didn't go and investigate. Our waiter was incredibly nice and super engaging (probably the pianist too) although they felt a little short staffed. The food- we started with the pimento cheese, coconut fried shrimp, and okra hushpuppies. I will say that the portion size was a bit smaller than what I would expect based on the price point and overall value. That being said, the pimento cheese has the best value overall. The shrimp was well seasoned although I usually prefer to having the sauce on the side to dip. Entrees- They were sold out of the lamb lollipops which seems to be the most popular thing on the menu. I ended up ordering the shrimp pasta special. It was a bit saucier than I normally would like but enough to give the shrimp plenty of flavor albeit a bit on the salty and savory side. Overall, I don't think the food is worth the price point in general but probably one of the only options by default. Would definitely come back if I'm in town but would not compare if this was in a bigger town with more choices. read more

We had a great evening here February 4,2021 for our first trip to dinner since covid started last year. Maria was our server in training and she did a wonderful job, very friendly and even took time to take a few pictures of us together around the area. The food was delicious, I got the Grouper with mushroom risotto and broccoli and my husband got the 3lb Tomahawk! I was so impressed how tender and juicy it was all the way through , what a delicious steak. Even the leftovers next day were just as delicious and tender. My first time in Enterprise, Alabama and this restaurant was an absolute treat. The building, more than 100 years old, is a landmark. The service is incredible. The new Rawls reopened under new management and the restaurant is still one of the best for ambience and atmosphere. We went to try the restaurant as it had reopened recently and we really liked the " old" Rawls. Our server was very nice and friendly . She served us in a timely manner and was attentive to our requests with minimal waiting. The 3 star rating is being generous because of the ambiance and the server. The food leaves a lot to be desired. I had the prime rib special, which was not cooked properly and had a pork aftertaste. I talked to the owner and all he said was he wasn't a chef and would speak to the chef. The meat was very chewy, the au jus sauce had a strange taste like pork belly grease and was lukewarm when delivered. My wife got the fish, red snapper, which was overcooked and dry. It was seared and also had that pork taste. It should be a crime to screw up a piece of fish like this. We very disappointed as we had really wanted to like this "new" Rawls. If you want fish prepared properly, go to the " new" barrel room. When the bill came we were overcharged and had to get the manager to correct it which was a goat rope in its own way. 3 stars is being generous and giving them the benefit of doubt for being "new". read more

We had Valentine's dinner last night.vThe food was amazing!!! Unfortunately, the server was horrible. We were a table of 6 so gratuity was included, that would be why she didn't care. We sat for 30 minutes before we got water and another 15 waiting for her to come take our drink order. We tried to order dinner when she got our drink order but she literally said" naaahhhh, we'll get that later". Another 20 minutes then she took our order. Once we ordered the courses came within a reasonable amount of time. The food was so good but she didn't refill drinks or get the wine list. They shouldn't tell the servers they are getting a 20 percent gratuity and maybe they would try harder. read more

Really wanted to like this place! The restaurant is beautiful and in the beginning the server was polite and very nice. It (would have been) an excellent place to have a date night. I had the lamb. It was delectable and delicious. It was served with some kind of sweet squash, butternut squash I believe it was, curried cauliflower, and other scrumptious things that complimented the meal. However, my wife ordered the $40 grilled 8oz filet with advertised certified angus beef. Now what do most people think of when you hear something like that? A juicy filet mignon steak, right? I tell no lie: when she cut into that filet, it was no more than a CHARRED POT ROAST! The meat was so fatty and the meat fell apart in strings, just like pot roast. It too tasted as such. So we had the server take it away. Now, it is not that it tasted bad, at least to me, it's just the fact that you are not getting what's advertised. And for $40 your not going to just want a pot roast. My wife doesn't really care for pot roast anyway. What really topped the bad review is the fact that they have a terrible attitude when you tell them you don't like the food. They reluctantly took the $40 pot roast off our bill, but the rest of the time the waiter wouldn't even talk to us. Forget about getting getting a drink refilled or even being offered anything to replace your meal. The waiter silently gave us the check and then kept giving us looks as if to tell us "get out" after we paid. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. And I see this is not the first bad review about their filet. Bottom line is: don't order the filet if you come here. And if you don't like something, don't say anything. All the chefs and servers here have their heads shoved up their *** and think they are too good to receive criticism. read more

Good service. Food is pricey but worth it. Nice atmosphere. I came here for an event and the food was amazing, considering it was cooked for about 80 people. So we went back and it was just delicious. The shrimp and grits were kind of meh... but you cant do much with shrimp and grits anyway. my husband had a huge delicious steak. The crispy pork belly was fantastic. The creme brulee was good, although I expected it to be warm and ever so slightly more firm. The lava cake is SO WORTH THE WAIT. Probably the best "fancy" restaurant in the Enterprise/Dothan area where you can get all dressed up for an important evening. We did our anniversary here and it was nice to have a proper meal to go with the dress/jacket and tie. The restaurant itself is very nice, the service was great, the food was also very good. We enjoyed apps, salad, mains and dessert. The menu was limited in scope as to my finicky pallet, so there was only a couple options for me to eat. I got the fish (grouper) it tasted great, but the cut of it was so thick that it wasn't cooked all the way through. There was a bit of sushi in the middle of my fish. My wife's steak though was perfect. This is a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Get dressed up and enjoy a night out. read more

Great tasting food made from high quality ingredients. The restaurant is nestled in the historic Rawls hotel. The interior is very interesting and they have a few artifacts from the building's history on display. The service was good. I came in at lunch and the word from my waitress is that lunches are typically slow. Which make sense because the place is quite classy and a bit much for a casual lunch. That said the food was fairly priced and prepared in a timely manner. I had the pimento cheese. Excellent! The accompanying chips were made on site and also excellent. Initially went to The Rawls in early January and had a lovely experience. The service was timely, the food was great (we even got a little treat at the beginning) and it was a great ambiance. Given that experience, I had invited my friends to go back. Our experience was night and day different. Just to order our wine was over 45 minutes, not to mention we waited an hour between our appetizer and main course. When our food did come out, it tasted dry, like it was just sitting under the heat lamps. My friend ordered the Brussels sprouts and they were saturated in oil. The waitress then told us she tried our food after we sent it back, is that actually allowed!? And also gross! All of these things maybe would have made sense if it was extremely busy but guess what, there were maybe 5 tables of people eating. When we approached the owner after to let her know our experience, she simply said sorry and didn't offer any additional comments on how to make it better for us or future guests. I really wanted to have this be "our spot" but we will never ever be going back. Shame on the owner for not recognizing these issues, it's not a surprise this place closed down before. read more

We had dinner at The Rawls tonight, it was SO GOOD. Inside of the restaurant is what used to be (I think) a hotel. Its really nice looking, very nice atmosphere for dinner. Great spot for date night. Our server was great the entire time throughout dinner. The bread and butter they give after you order is reallllly good. Could've eaten 5 loaves of that. On to the entrees: I will admit that because of other yelp reviews I was very hesitant to order the filet, and even scared as I waited for it to come out. I read a few bad ones but I ordered it anyway. It was PERFECT. Outside and inside. It comes with roasted potatoes, broccoli, glazed carrots, and a blue cheese coleslaw topping which I did not get (don't like blue cheese). The sides were all fantastic, the carrots may have been the best part of the entire meal. I was so happy with my decision. Wife had the fettuccine bolognese and she said she liked it a lot. It looked very good, I plan on going back to try that myself. Mother in law had the pork chop and she loved that. Portion sizes were very good as well. Overall the experience was great form the service to the food. Worth the price for sure. Highly recommend, especially in a smaller place like Enterprise. read more

A stately old hotel. An impeccably-cooked steak. Perfect service. Unbelievable atmosphere. I don't like to say things such as "I didn't expect to find a restaurant of this caliber in Enterprise" because it's a really condescending thing to say to the people of that good city. Instead, it's proof to me that great restaurants can be found all over if you simply ask your desk clerk where to find them. A shame I enjoyed such a fantastic, romantic meal with a colleague instead of my wife. Had she been there instead, it would have made things perfect in my book. And, once your meal is over, stroll around front and take photos of the Boll Weevil Monument. It's really something everyone should see once in their lives. read more

(Stole that from the website) Including myself, I entertained eight tonight having numerous appetizers that included; Crispy Pork Belly, Local Apples, House Kraut, Sweet Tea Gastrique; Gulf Shrimp Tempura, Wasabi Sweet Chili Sauce; Bobwhite Quail Cornmeal Waffle, Cane Syrup Fried Apalachicola Oysters w/Lemon Horseradish-Tartar Sauce. All apps were really very good, The quail was as good as I've ever eaten. For entrees we selected the Scallop & ribeye specials. All were very tasty. This place isn't just good for the area, I would say it would be good even compared to restaurants in a bigger city. The mixed drinks are fresh and the food is sooooo good. I had crab wings yeah strange idea but it works! They're the crab claw with the meat sticking out fried and served with sauce. Steak and Lamb meals my husband had were great. The lamb came with a taziki sauce that was to die for. Finished it up with a crem brûlée which was perfectly cooked. I would eat here again in a heart beat! read more

Had a special evening as we ended a week's vacation here -great meal in every way. We are "foodies" when we travel so have lots to compare to. Lovely greeting by the hostess, great waiter - didn't hover but kept a check on us. Moved our meal smoothly from appetizer of pimento cheese with bacon bits over toast to main dish. I had off the menu a wonderful grilled pork chop covered in pear bites. Sides served on plate were collards (very good), sweet potato rounds. Husband selected fish of the day. Grouper with crab bites on top. Had two great vegetables served on the plate, grilled Brussels sprouts and a carrot soufflé that was tops. Could have been a dessert! I really, really want to love the Rawls. It's in a great location, the interior is charming, the menu appears delicious and diverse. But this is now the third time we have left a meal at the Rawls lighter in our wallet and completely unsatisfied. As a starter, I ordered the Mushroom Bisque. Flavor was delicious, but for $7, the portion size was shockingly small. Ok, fine, not a meal ruiner. However, our other appetizer, the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Crab was a MAJOR disappointment. The pasta was undercooked, the dish was cold, and the whole thing was overpriced. Moving on to entrees, we decided to order a-la-carte because we wanted a lot of vegetables on the side. My husband ordered the filet, I ordered the chicken, and we selected four sides at $5 each. Our initial reaction when the sides came out was laughter. The grilled seasonal vegetables consisted of one small, thin, wilted slice of eggplant and three similarly pathetic slices of zucchini. Now, believe me... portion size is NOT my main criteria for judging the quality of a meal (by a long shot). However, for the prices the Rawls is charging for small portions of sad, underwhelming food is enough to make us think twice about coming back. We would rather drive to KBC in Dothan for a quality meal. read more

Went to The Rawl tonight and had high expectations after walking in. A lot of items were out of stock for whatever reasons which was disappointing. Ordered the 8 oz grilled filet medium well and the steak came out oddly shaped cut and looked like a brick of charcoal. Didn't even look like a filet first off. And anyone knows that a properly cooked medium well steak will still have slight pink and will have grill marks, not burn marks. Even if I ordered a steak well done it shouldn't come out tasting like charcoal. This steak was scorched and the waitress didn't come back to check on us until after everyone else at my table finished their food so when I showed her how burnt the steak was she offered to take it back but I didn't want to make my family wait just for me to get a properly cooked steak. For $40 you're better off buying a filet yourself and cooking it because the chefs at this restaurant clearly don't know how to cook. Take your business somewhere else if you don't want to waste your money. read more
