22 years ago, my son and I were amongst the first to stay at this magnificent old Victorian, The Ravilious, formerly The Gladwyn, and the new owners, Chris and Caroline have maintained its high standards and integrity for those discerning guests like myself.
The spacious rooms are well decorated and when I awaken in the morning after a good night's rest, it's so nice to look up at the ceiling with its ornate crown molding.
I was so happy when they began serving breakfast in the upstairs lounge overlooking Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club. Before, it was not very welcoming to have one's breakfast downstairs where it was dark and gloomy. And speaking of breakfast, I always get the Eggs Benedict with Scottish smoked salmon.
Now that travel restrictions have been lifted to the UK, I hope to visit Eastbourne more often and without any doubt, stay at The Ravilious. read more
