Great job. Next we had a tree in the front that had been hit and split by lightning about 20 years ago. It was becoming a hazard, so we decided to take it down before it fell on our home. I called Lance again. He was ready to work and while he was trimming the trees on the side of the house, he discovered they were rotten from carpenter ants. So they had to come down. He wanted to plant magnolia trees, but I am not a flower kind of girl. So we planted red maples. He redid our plant beds in the front and planted some boxwood bushes. Then they mulched and put flagstones all around. He had a subcontractor come out to grind the stumps. The house looks naked without the huge trees, but it is for the best. We are very happy. Wasn't cheap, but now we won't have trees fall on our house, fence, or power lines. He was reasonably priced.

He did not fulfill a promise to return to power wash some cemented areas. I decided to reach out to Eli to resolve this issue, along with some other issues I had with his craftsmanship. He did offer to pay the $50 to get the power washing done, but made sure I knew he never said the power washing would be free. But he also never said upfront about it costing extra money. Aside from the power washing, please look at the photos to see that there are gaps in the fence work and two of the fence pickets he used are not up to standard - they don't even reach the base board! The picket closest to the side of the house is not even a full piece of wood! This is disappointing bc I am not an unkind person and do believe in giving grace, especially during this pandemic. However, it is NEVER okay as a business owner to ignore clients. He left me on "read" via text and only responded when I told him I no longer needed him to come fix HIS SLOPPY WORK. All he had to say was, "OK". Very different guy from before I paid him.

The next day I inquired about the scheduling I was told "maybe today". I explained that I would not be able to do it that day as I need to be home from work and get cash out, and was then told again later the following week. I was told he may be out of town and hoped to be back Wednesday so I continued to wait on a scheduled date. Fast forward to the next week. Wednesday evening I still hadn't heard anything and inquired again and was told "tomorrow afternoon". Luckily I was able to be home from work and agreed. Fast forward to the day of the afternoon job, I inquired about an ETA at 2:15PM as I hadn't heard anything. At 5:04PM I finally received a response that they were finishing up a job 30 mins away and would head towards me. I advised it was too late to start the job then received a call at 5:30 explaining that it's still afternoon, and they want to cut and trim tonight and then come by in the morning to haul. I explained again I was not comfortable with the job starting so late, after the planned time, with no communication, and that I did not want it done in two separate days especially when I could not be there in the morning. I received an attitude, and was told their job went long and they had other priorities this weekend, that they will work just fine without my "supervision" and that i might need to go with someone else. I later received a text explanation explaining in a more pleasant way what exactly happened that they accepted a change in the job earlier in the day which caused it to go longer. This company would probably still have my business if there had been some communication earlier in the day. 2 stars for extremely poor communication and lack of respect for the schedules of the patron.

He and his crew came out on a Saturday morning to get the dirtwork done before the heavy rains hit which we really appreciated as I know our horse did. We now have some beautiful stalls that are nicely built up and I don't have to worry about mud in my stalls. I highly recommend than and would give them a 5 out of 5 stars.

April 21, 2022 After…read more10 years of living here, I NEVER thought the public was allowed to come inside property and purchase stuff; I was wrong! After seeing the post on Instagram and Facebook I knew I could go there and man, was I excited! A lot of people (locals) do NOT know this either... FYI marketing social person. I went this afternoon and fell in love with the place. It's on the feeder of 45 coming into Galveston and has everything you need. It's small but mighty. And, it has such personal touches like you would at your own home; it's just soo zen. I met David and Dianna Estraca (owners who opened in 2002) and I was immediately impressed with their friendliness and customer service. They were literally hands on in their plants...and in the office, etc Diana was gardening and her husband David had just returned with supplies. All of this I saw first hand and it gave me a sense of pride for them. They appreciate everything they have and the people who patronize their business. I met Jared (horticulturalist) who is friendly, knowledgeable (and, so cute!) Ha! I did miss meeting their fun social guru, media person, Karla...because of her social media posts ...I found out the public can shop here just not wholesalers, etc A lot of lay people as myself didn't know the public can shop here...FYI I fell in love with this nursery and their people... friendly gets me each and every time. I've been a fixture at Tom's Thumb all this time (owner, Peggy Cornelius -no relation to new owners) retired this year and the small town (local feel) is gone. Still a beautiful nursery that I won't turn my back on just yet...but, Earth creations you are my new zen spot. I sat in the rainbow swing today and watched the traffic go by.
