Beware ... this local company is price gouging people affected by hurricane Beryl down in Manvel. Unbelievable considering he has been doing business in this area for a while. Approached me for a bid (going door to door) ... didn't even walk the property to see the damage ... threw out an Unbelievable price and then tried to tell me I needed to do something that wasn't true. All in all just be aware others companies in the area aren't price gouging and are doing equally good work. read more

We lost many palm trees during that hard freeze. We have been working on trying to cut them back and trim them up. It has really been a daunting task and we knew we were going to need help to cut down the palm trees that towered above the house and neighbors houses to avoid causing damage to the houses and the pool area. I don't really care for people who knock on my door to solicit business, but we needed to get these trees down so I was willing to let them quote me a price. I was quoted a price to cut down 3 very tall dead palm trees in the back yard, and to trim up the palms in the front yard. We negotiated a price for the job that made both parties happy and he and his crew went to work. They did what they said they would do and much much more. Joseph and his crew did an awesome job. We had a huge tree fall on our house due to the storm on Thursday. They came over within 45 minutes of calling them, even though he had eight other customers to go to. They came to us first. The way the tree was laying against the house it could have slammed down and hit the foundation and made an extra hole, but the way Joseph did it was amazing. I would highly recommend this company. There is apparently no tree too problematic for these folks, because we had a 60' palm tree (not coming back after the freeze we just had) touching up against a fence, in between ours and the neighbors house. I have multiple big flower pots, a fountain,and brand new landscape lighting all along the front of my house - so you can imagine my concern when I learned that I needed to get a bunch of huge branches cut out of our very tall trees to protect our roof. Turns out I did not need to worry one bit when we hired Texas Cowboy Tree Service to do the job. They protected everything that needed to be protected in the front & they cleaned up every bit of trash and refuge left behind from such a messy job. I was delighted when they went out of their way to accommodate our special wishes about different things that needed to be done in different trees. We couldn't be happier, and we highly recommend Cowboy and his crew. He takes pride in his work, he clearly cares about the trees. That sounds weird to say but coming from an owner who knows every branch of every tree (my husband), it's a very important part of who we hire to do this work. One of his crew was especially careful to take note of the nests in the trees, and if at all possible they were left undisturbed. Bad service, called my neighbor nosy because they were disposing limbs by throwing over the fence into the neighboring pasture instead of hauling away and the neighbor asked about it. When I called him to discuss he told me to tell the nosy neighbor to stay out of it and hung up on me. Will never use or recommend this hothead!!!! read more

If I could put zero I would !!!!!! We called this man today to come and do some work at a house we are renovating. When he answered the phone all he said was YEA?? I asked if this was a tree trimming business and when he said yes he was even more rude. It was so unprofessional to my wife she hung up the phone and ignored him when he called back. He called again and I answered when I told him why my wife hung up ( because we judge businesses on the way they answer the phone) he got irate and told me to never fucking call again , hung up the phone and then texted me very poorly I might add.... Even though the crew had a lot of other work going on, They were able to cut down my two rotten ash trees before the bad storm rolled in. They woked hard and fast. I had the exact same experience as Jane G. Joseph came by our house offering to install Christmas lights. He had very little experience and did a marginally acceptable job. When a few of the lights fell down, we asked if he could come back and fix them. His response was an expletive filled rant and he refused to help. I would not recommend him. read more

I had this company come by for a couple of years and he always said if the pods grew back after he left he would come back and trim them. Well one year they did come back and I called him and he went off the deep end yelling and cussing me out about how he cannot come out for free..what really you were the one that offered. Anyway, I have never used him again and have found plenty of nicer and cheaper people what do not use spikes in your palm trees. Don't let people use spikes in your palms...its not good for them and neither is this company. read more

Yes, he is high pressure, yes he called me pretty lady and hit on me. I told him I don't respond well to pushy sales guys and laughed at him. I ignored it, and we bartered until he gave me the same price as the other quotes I had gotten. I hired him because he wanted the job, the other guys could have taken or left it. We had a huge mess with trees grown through the fence and 2 huge trees over the house. They worked hard and quick in the heat of the day, did a stellar job and cleaned up everything. He worked every bit as hard as his guys, I respect that. If you are very serious minded sensitive personality I don't think that this is the company for you. If you are willing to laugh and push back I would highly recommend. read more

Cowboy and his crew came within an hour of me calling. He gave me a quote I thought was high, until I saw the amount of work he did on all my trees. He did a miracle on the rat's nest that was my oak tree, and then cleaned up my neighbor's trees coming over the fence, my other tree in front yard and 3 trees in the back. He also cleaned up my hedges. They worked quickly, cleaned up well and I consider the price a good value for the work done. read more

This guy did some work across the fence from me for my neighbor a few weeks ago. They had to go behind my garage to finish the neighbors work I was not home, no problem so far). They decided to use my new $200 dollar ladder, (I was not home at that moment) which I did not mind since it was to benefit the limb removal on my side of the fence EXCEPT The ladder ended up on the next street over for them to make money with on the neighbors job (not cool)? Still no real big problem here, they brought it back. They had to leave some limbs and said they would get them later. No problem. Joseph said he would give me a heads up to let know when he was on his way. So today I called him and politely said they are still there. He got extremely agitated and said " I came by once but couldn't get by the obstacle". I simply said "how did you get back behind my garage originally then when you cut them down, It's the same exact setup?" he said "If your gong to be a smart ass"..... rant,rant. Terrible guy, tree service was great and quick but he put a hole in my roof, broke my satellite dish and did not tell me. I had to find out from the satellite company that there was a hole in my roof. I called "Cowboy" out to my house he said sorry I thought we fixed it, but its no big deal we will fix it, I asked him why he didn't tell me and he then said oh its a weak roof anyways and its not like we dropped a cannon through the roof. He agreed we would get a roofing company to fix it and he would cover the cost. The coast was $400, which I thought was very reasonable. He agreed to the price and left to get cash, the next call I get it him saying he thinks we are trying to screw him over and he wants his friend to do the job. I asked I'm why would he do this the roofers are already on the way. He acted offended then proceeded to say some legal stuff, you could tell he had no idea what he was talking about. I said its my house and I want the job done right and not the cheapest, friend that he was going to have come and do it. He hung up saying well, he just wasn't going to come back. Now we have to escalate this to try and get our money for the roof patch that he should've paid for in the first place. Don't call this guy, if he breaks something he wont tell you he will just leave it and cover it up, then lie about it, then stiff you for the money. read more
