04/22/26 This visit…read moredid not disappoint. We live in Florida and first visited Vicious Biscuit (the original location) quite a few years ago while on vacation. They opened one in Florida and when we visited we were just not as impressed and decided we probably wouldn't go back unless it was the original one. While on vacation again, we noticed Vicious Biscuit on the map and decided to give it another try. I'm so glad we did because the food was spot on and delicious. I got the Vicious and my husband got the Flame Thrower. The biscuits are buttery, flaky, and flavorful. Both of ours came with a cheddar jalapeño biscuit and they were exactly as we had remembered when we visited the OG Vicious Biscuit. The chicken, the cowboy candy, and gravy on mine were perfect. The chicken, cowboy candy, and candied bacon on my husband's were equally excellent. Great job on making us wanting to visit again! Vicious Biscuit is once again a stop we'll be looking for on our next road trip!

You have to work very hard to get a one star review from me...but this place obviously was intent…read moreon earning their one star review. We were on the road in a massive Mississippi thunder storm n decided to pull off the road to grab a quick bite, while waiting for the downpour to pass. Wards is a plentiful burger franchise in Mississippi, so even though this location is adjoining a gas station, we figured it would be standard Wards fare. Ha, far from it!!! The cheeseburger was perhaps the smallest, thinnest patty I have ever seen in my life...think a sausage patty cut in half, n then smashed flat to almost paper thin, served on a smashed bun w a smear of mayo, mustard, some lettuce and the top of the tomato...sounds very appetizing doesn't it... Oh, and then there were the flies...live flies constantly landing on the table, swatting them away, trying to eat the micro 1 oz burger...then blink...the lights went out. Now we are sitting in a dark restaurant with the employees all walking out the door to see "what's going on". People came in to order, but there were no employees, they were all outside taking a smoke break...since the lights were out. Then someone decided that they should come remove the register drawers, since the power was out. Someone came from the gas station next door to wonder about the power being out and to say that the power company would call back at 3 PM. The employees continued to mill about, talking to each other and texting on their phones while talking loudly to the gas station employees thru the door between the two businesses. They never spoke to any customers standing at the counter, or customers eating in the dark restaurant. When I decided to go to the restroom in the adjoining gas station, I was locked out of the adjoining door when I returned. Really...I was gone two minutes. Another customer who was standing at the counter, having ordered n paid but not received his food yet, shrugged and unlocked the door for me. We finished our food by the window so we could see to eat. Unfortunately, we could also see all of the dead flies piled up in the window sill, of course the live ones were still there too! We were there about 15 min after the power went out. No employee ever spoke to any customer...even the ones waiting for food that they had already paid for. We checked the weather on the phone, got back in the car and headed back on the road. Unless you want to sit in a fly trap, eating the most miniscule burger ever, completely ignored by all employees....keep driving down the road...stay far far away from this Wards restaurant!

They made the atmosphere uncertainly to be in. We had been informed in the past of their hamburger steak had been named best of in the steak. Well, we had to try, of course Our drinks and lunch came within minutes of ordering. The food came out hot and fresh, always a great sign. The turnip greens were good, but with some drops of Crystal's hot sauce, it leveled up the greens. Some liquor was on the bottom, and did what I was taught to do by some people I had met a couple of decades ago, I soaked pieces of my cornbread muffin into it. It is now my favourite way to eat cornbread with turnip greens. The green beans were still green with a slight crunch, not the most southern way to cook green beans, however, it is definitely my preferred. It was a little sweeter than I liked, but still delicious. Now for the mainstay, the hamburger steak. It was flavourful, and still had a great taste of beef. I did not detect any fillers, which is many people's home method, I think? It had a glossy gravy poured over it, which was even more delightful. Beef and gravy will always be one of my comfort foods. Yum Would I come back here again? Yes, if I were to drive through Magee again

Loved the Rockefeller and Chargrilled but was not crazy about the Elote with the corn and and little spicy. Just a personal preference. We also ordered the Boogie Bombs that were so good with the pepper jelly. For entrees I ordered the Blackened Redfish which come which vegetables and grits. The sauce over the redfish was great! It complemented the Redfish. The only thing that I would improve on would be the grits. They were a little dry. My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and Ashley recommended the pepper jelly with it. We had great service. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place.

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!
