Prices are really reasonable especially for some of the newer stylists. Prices are clearly listed on their booking system by stylist and service which I really appreciate. I've been with different stylists and they have all been great. Recently had a very great haircut with Emmie who was great about listening to my preferences. Maddy as well did a fantastic color/balayage for me that had grown out well even after a year. If you want to see results on your skin, there is absolutely no one else to go to but Amy. I've…read morenever had a more professional and knowledgeable esthetician than Amy. She starts the experience before you even walk through the door by asking about your skin, your health background, allergies, etc... and really uses all of that information to tailor a facial that is right for you and your skin type. I've always had bad acne/flare ups that had left my face in a constant state of redness. Through a few sessions with Amy, I can tell she has repaired my skin and the redness is gradually fading away to reveal a really clear complexion. The price may seem high, but she spends several hours with her clients... don't even bother with going to one of the hotel spas, those are never results oriented. She follows up for days after the facial as well to really understand how your skin reacts and takes the treatments. Plus, she treats the decolletage area as well! Of course, she ends the experience with an amazing hand/shoulder/head massage. I can't say enough amazing things about Amy, but maybe one of the only facial specialists in the area that really knows what she is doing!

I've been to dermatologists, other laser spas, and Amy is the first person who is taking a holistic approach. She has been so amazing with her time, looking at all of the supplements I'm taking, asking about the food I'm eating, looking at all of the topicals the derm put me on and all of the other skincare products I was using. She has made recommendations on all of the above, including changes she thinks I need to make. I can tell it's all making a difference, and my skin feels so much better now that I'm using the products she has recommended and have gotten off the harsh topicals my derm prescribed that weren't working and were only making my skin itchy, dry, and still not cleared up. Bonus the products she has are clean and EU certified so I feel really good using them. My skin is feeling so much healthier. I've had one Aerolase Neo Elite laser treatment so far and it was a great experience. Amy really took her time working on my face, it was like night and day from the past laser experiences I had. Amy is so committed to helping me achieve my goals and clear my skin. For the first time I feel hope and I know it's because I have the help of the best skin guru in all of Chicago! If you are having troubles with your skin I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Amy, she is the best!

Worst experience here would not EVER recommend visiting this place, wasting your time, money or…read moreenergy. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Went in for a consultation. Everything seemed to go fine although they really seemed to want to add a lot of unnecessary procedures to that I wasn't interested in obtaining. And upon speaking with further aesthetic professionals was told that it was definitely looking like a money grab, they wanted to do BBL laser to my already lightly colored lips and learned through other professionals that that particular procedure would have mad them even lighter. I definitely expressed that that was a concern of mine and was interested in doing a lip blushing because they are so lightly colored. So thank God, I didn't listen to their awful recommendations and of course they want to put as much Botox as humanly possible in your face, even though I told her that 38 units was the maximum that I had ever done. In the late evening of the day before my procedure they contacted me to tell me that their medical director had decided not to work with me... less than 24 hours notice! I rearranged my travel schedule and other important dates so that I was able to get the things done that I needed. (as I was put on a month long schedule for certain procedures to be done) The worst part was is that no one could tell me why they decided not to go forward with my treatments. this place may have some nice reviews, but from what I see is major incompetence, immaturity, and unprofessionalism. I had nearly a month between my consultation and the start of my procedures I could have made other arrangements if I had known that they didn't want to work with me. Now I am in need of finding another professional, booking those appointments and I won't be ready for weddings and other special events this Autumn. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I have been testing out different salons and have been repeatedly disappointed until I met with Sabrina. I initially met her for a consultation and knew immediately she definitely knew her way around curly hair. I scheduled my first haircut with her and anxiously awaited the day. She was utterly fantastic. I can confidently say this is probably the best haircut I've ever received. My hair looks incredible and I'm thrilled because I'm getting married in four weeks. The color even looks better due to the way she cut it even though I had absolutely nothing done with the color. Also, she was very cautious and thoughtful with all of my new allergies I recently discovered that include fragrances, essential oils, and beeswax. I brought my own products with me to ensure I had no allergic reaction. Even still she was gentle and checked in throughout to make sure I was OK. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend. I've already booked my next haircut with her. I'll post some photos. I've washed my hair twice since and did absolutely nothing to style my hair, but look at these curls!

First off, loved the location! I'm super fond of the Gold Coast area. When I arrived I was greeted by the extremely sweet owner Cathy, she was so hospitable and is passionate about her business & I completely support that being a business owner myself. They took good precautions for COVID & the spa was very clean & cute! My customized facial was with Loren, who was very knowledgeable about skin and advised me to take on a new regimen (which I've been wanting to do). I had a great experience at their spa & look forward to going again! Post facial I woke up with glowing and clear skin! I love my new products from their line and it's been almost a week. I'm going to continue using them and look forward to the results! Thank you CaTara Medspa!

I was hoping to build a relationship with a new med spa because I recently moved to the area. I'd…read morebeen getting Botox, Xeomin, HA filler, and many other services at Med Spas in the Downtown Chicago area for over 10 years and I have NEVER had this happen! I am even willing to post photos of the botched Xeomin application because I don't want anyone else to have the experience that I had at Catara Med Spa. I first came to Catara for Xeomin and filler. The Xeomin was supposed to be applied in my forehead, crow's feet, and bunny lines. I was pleased with the results so naturally I returned three months later for a re-up of Xeomin. My injector looked at her chart, gave me a few pokes and I was on my way. By day 5 the product had started to take effect, but only around my crow's feet and directly above my brows leaving the center of my forehead filled with wrinkles that moved with my facial expressions! I HAVE NEVER had Xeomin settle like that, so I knew that Lily didn't assess the movement in my face before applying the product - she just used the chart and injected at the same sites (I've uploaded photos of my results). I cancelled my follow-up for two weeks and rescheduled another appointment for earlier. I was not going to walk around with a giant wrinkly square on my forehead! I arrived at the med spa and was immediately brought back into the room. I scheduled with the same girl, so I was trying to be nice about her horrible application. I said, "I think we missed a spot" and pointed to my head. She looked at my face and said she was going to get set up. She returned to the room a few minutes later and said her "upset customer" line, "The product takes two weeks to settle. We need to give it time to take full affect". I said, "it has started to settle and there is already a clear ridge showing you didn't apply any to the middle of my forehead. Check your chart and we can apply where there were no injections". She told me she would grab her manager. I sat for at least 10 minutes and just as I was grabbing my keys to leave the manager entered the room. Again, the Manager told me she would not give me more product until 14 days; that I needed to trust the process and that I don't understand how the product works. At this point I was so taken aback that I was being refused service!!!! I literally thought I was being punked! Rather than admit they messed up, the manager kept telling me that I didn't understand "the process"; that I didn't understand how the product works with my face. A product I've been using for over 10 years. I will never return and wouldn't trust them to do more advanced treatments if they couldn't even get Xeomin right. Yikes! Lastly, I went to another spa to fix what Catara Med Spa did to my face. The nurse at the new spa explained she would do her best to "soften" the areas that were pulling on the sides (creating the ridge). She also felt so bad for me that she didn't charge for the five extra units I needed on the sides of my forehead.
