Absoultly love this place for both the knowledgable massage therapists and excellent esthetians. I have a connective tissue disorder which in turn causes a fair bit of muscle and joint discomfort/ tightness. I have been seeing massage therapist Crystal for several years. I go about every 4 to 6 weeks. She has amazing knowledge, professsionalism and always friendly demeanour. The work she does on my back/neck is truly a lifesaver, allowing me to function. The rooms used for the massages are nicely decorated in a warm peaceful decor. There is soft relaxing music playing and no outside noise can be heard. I should also say the room and massage table is sturdy, comfortable and very clean. The waiting area before treatments is a fair size with plush seating and reading material. The Pure Escape's front desk receptionists are friendly, helpful and accomdating. They direct bill most insurance companies which is also wonderful bonus. They have fun specials for esthetics. I just got a wonderful Pumpkin Spice pedicure and shellac manicure with Kailey for fall. Wow, was I ever impressed. Kailey is friendly, professional and does fantastic work. I felt very comfortable and put at ease at the cleaniness of the esthetic area. Santized, fresh tools, and proper technique were all observed. Prices are reasonable, Accomdating shift hours, the location is great right on Corydon/ bus stop right in front. I tried to use a coupon I won at a social. The coupon reads '15$ off' then lists different treatments that you can have. There is no treatment price listed, and no expiry date listed. When I asked to book at appointment for the 'spa pedicure', she hesitated when I told her I had this coupon. She then informed me that that coupon was old tans that their prices had changed... But again, there was no prices listed at all on the coupon. I was like "so you won't honour this coupon?", and she was like, "if we do we'll have to charge you the old price" and then I'm like "but there is no price listed on the coupon, it just says $15 off Spa Pedicure. How much is the spa pedicure?" She says, "42$, but that's the new price, if you want to use the coupon we'll have to charge you the old price, which is 55$" Then I was like, "so... You can't honour the coupon?" And she says "ya, no" How does this make sense. I guess their logic is that their prices are so low that coupons don't apply... I should have known better... I had three of these to begin with and I used one already (a couple months ago). Since I had three, I tried to book three different treatments all in one day (pedi/mani/facial, sounds good right?!) But they told me I couldn't do that, that I would have to make three separate appointments on three separate days. Which I thought was strange, it's not like I was trying to pull one over on them... Ya know. I just thought, three coupons, three treatments. Why not make a day of it. Seems like they could be a bit more flexible. read more

They claim to direct bill to Blue Cross Veterans' Affairs, took my info, and waited until after the treatment to tell me that they hadn't been able to arrange it after all. However, I have to give them credit for calling Blue Cross after I left and finding a solution that will let me submit an invoice to get reimbursed after the fact. I'd suggest confirming that your direct billing arrangements are good to go when checking in. read more

I've been here a few times, but after the last experience I had I'm never coming back. I've had the same massage therapist the last 4 or 5 times I've been (Steven), since all their other massage therapists are hit and miss, but Steven is usually amazing. Last time however, not only did my sixty minute massage last only about forty minutes (I was still charged for the full hour), he's recently grown a beard and kept stopping the massage to scratch his beard. Then kept talking about his family and weekend plans! It was not relaxing at all. When I emailed pure escape about the issue I had with the massage I didn't receive anything back. So much for great customer service. Needless to say I won't be coming back, and I certainly won't be suggesting pure escape to anyone looking for a good massage. read more

I booked a pedicure appointment 4 weeks in advance, because I was leaving on a holiday. I was organized! I arrived for my appointment, 2 days prior to leaving on my trip, only to be told that my name was not in the schedule. I told the receptionist I booked 4 weeks prior to this date, and she advised that about 4 weeks ago they had some computer problems so all appointments were erased. I questioned why, if there was a problem with the computers, did the business contact its customers? I was told they were not responsible for computer glitches and I was offered a coupon for another pedicure. All I can say is that I will not be returning. I needed a pedicure on the date I was booked, and I left without my service, and I will leave on my holiday with horrible feet! read more
