Can't wait to remake this picture this year!

This was a family tradition when I was little! We hadn't been in many years but we now have a little one of our own and the magic was still there! Love continuing this tradition with our little boy!

So- I was back and forth on giving this place 4 or 5 stars, but I do think some things here are a bit overpriced so I went with the 4 stars. The prices aren't astronomical, just more than I'd like to spend (and higher than I have seen at some other pumpkin patches). Pricing aside, let me tell you about just a few of the fantastic reasons you should visit this Pumpkin Patch. When I pulled up, I saw a ton of cars in the lot, and having just left Edwards I was ready for another claustrophobic experience. Not the case here. I don't know where they hid all of these people, but the lay out is so great that you hardly notice how crowded it is. Best of all... there was no waiting in line! There are tons of kids activities here, including a Haunted shack, pumpkin launching, animal petting/feeding (they all look very well cared for... something I am always super aware of), and rides. Speaking of which, this place has the coolest animals! Lemurs, peacocks, turkeys, llamas, goats, pigs, chickens; I even got to ride a camel! Not only was I thrilled that they had animals, but how often do you see adult rides at a place like this? (Yeah, that sounds dirty but I can't think of a better way to word it... get your mind out of the gutter!) Stop for some fresh corn, popcorn, hot dogs, chips, cider, donuts, etc. if you're hungry; the food we had was delish. (I'm a veggie but a friend had a hot dog and loved it.) When you're done for the day you can stop in their barn store and get all kinds of Halloween goodies, edibles, snacks to-go, and knick-knacks. The barn store is what really is the overpriced part of this place. (e.g. A small candle went for $9.99 (the kind you'd see for $4.99 anywhere else, and it wasn't handmade.) They did have some great smelling handmade soaps for sale though, in spooky designs. A GREAT place to go as a couple, as a family, or as a group of friends. I'm going to try and make The Pumpkin Patch a new yearly tradition!

It's the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Open only in the Fall, Fiorello's Pumpkin Patch sparks magic in the eyes of kids everywhere. Nothing like it exists in the area. A farm on Rte 173 in Caledonia, this place brings a lot of fun to Halloween. I've gone every Fall for the last twenty years. You immediately see the decor, inflatables, corn husks, and barn when pulling in the parking lot. Admission is free, but you do have to pay to go in the Haunted Barn (a PG rated spook-tastic shed filled with creepy ghouls and ghosts). Lots of picnic tables to enjoy lunch with friends and family are spread across the property. A large pole barn is crammed with food, Fall decor, and costumes on two levels. Be sure to check out the children's Halloween book written by Frank Fiorello himself. It won awards! Kids can meander through the small corn maze, feed the animals, jump in the inflatables, snap pictures on the farm equipment, and lots more. You can also grab a pumpkin to take home to remember your special day. If you're in the area be sure to stop by. Rte 173 connects to I-90 just north of Rockford. A easy couple miles East will lead you to a land of pumpkins and fun for all.

But, if I'm here when Edwards is open, I have to come back and have cider donuts. And today, I was lucky enough to eat one. I thought coming here first thing in the morning we would avoid a crowd and goodness I was wrong and loved to see it. My group and I walked through their market first where they have numerous samples to try. There are plenty of options to choose from and it was hard to keep our tab at a reasonable price, haha. My husband and I purchased the fiesta dip, cheese curds, apple cider donuts and the cheese and caramel popcorn. Next our group went apple picking. Prices are pretty standard compared to other spots, they do have a $5 deposit if you are borrowing a basket. If you are able to bring a basket of your own, I highly recommend that. To get to the apple orchard you take a short 'hay ride' which I really enjoyed. It was nice to see different areas of the farm. Staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I'm officially a fan girl of Edwards and am looking forward to many more apple picking adventures here in the future!

*PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE DAVE IS AN ACTUAL CREEP!*…read more Our neighbors and our family had started a tradition 4 years ago to take our families here to do the hay ride and purchase pumpkins and other things from Dave's pumpkin farm. We all got pumpkins, bales of hay, straw brooms and the like. Dave has no cashier and relies on an app to pay for purchases. This night his app was not working and we told him this. We kept trying. As we left, and still trying to get on the app. We got home and started unloading. And still trying to get on the app. It was night time and a truck pulls up across the street from me and sat there. I could not see into the truck and did not know who it was. I screamed out to the driver and said, who are you are you ok? I decided to call the police because I thought maybe it was somebody drunk and pulled over or he had car problems. Well, once the police arrived we found out it was Dave! He followed us home! He said we stole 300 pumpkins, which we only had about 15-20. The police told us he has a history of doing this, following people home that he feels did not pay enough. Now I have 2 little ones with me, 6 and 7. He is telling the police he wants us arrested! The police came back over to us and said "listen this guy is weird and off his rocker, have you got the app working yet"? It was not. My wife said listen... we can Zelle him for the pumpkins since the app is not working. The police said" we doubt he has Zelle, right now he is just rambling on that he wants you guys arrested but that is not going to happen because we believe you guys". The police officer said he has a Square on his phone where it can be paid through that device. So my wife walked over with the officer to Dave's truck. The total we knew was $126. Dave said just pay $119 because he could not figure out the taxes. According to the police, Dave has a history of doing this! He ruined our tradition and our kids are upset that this happened. The whole ordeal was about 2 hours long and our night was ruined! Now our whole tradition is ruined because we will not go back there where a stalker could just show up to your house! *STAY AWAY PLEASE BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS BEFORE AND WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN AGAIN!*

No interest in U-Pick, thank you, though they do this throughout the season (check their instagram for info on when they are allowing U-Pick). It was a fine place but I'm not sure if I would make the trip again. It was an hour drive and we got our strawberries, walked around a bit, and left; all told we were there for maybe 20 minutes or so and I don't think it was worth the drive. I'll probably pick up from a farmer's market instead, unless I'm nearby. They have more than just the produce here, as there's a little gift shop area on the one side of the building that has gift items, children's toys and clothes, and more. They also have a counter where you can order food, and a nice outdoor area to eat at. I will say that what I REALLY appreciated was that it wasn't a farm carnival, as some of them are now with rides and lines and parking that's blocks away. This is a more straightforward farm stand, which is what I wanted.
