Love this orchard! Very well, organized and maintained. Traffic during the fall season is a heavy volume. They have off duty police officers directing traffic. Once you get into the actual Orchard area, there are a lot of lines for each exhibit/area. But the lines move quickly and it's worth the wait. They have a store, which sells home made/home grown edibles, such as apples, jams/jellies, pies, donuts, fudge, barbecue beef, etc. They also have hayrides for the kids and adults, pumpkin patch picking, and even a play area for the children. Don't forget to experience the petting zoo. Free admission, and a "must do" during the fall months.

We love Edwards. It's been a family tradition since I was little and now my "little" is in high school. The apples are the best. The fudge and donuts my favorite. We Love Edwards!

I come here every year and always have a great time. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the grove is beautiful. Parking is ample and free. The apples are always delicious. And you definitely can't leave without having some apple cider donuts and cider (hot or cold). Early in the season, the local church also comes by and sells baked potatoes with toppings of your choice, and each year they are the first place I go to after picking apples. The market is fantastic as well. They sell so many cute items and some tasty pantry staples. I usually buy some bacon jam every year, the strawberry poppyseed dressing is my go to dressing. I usually get two bottles to last me until my next trip. Can't wait for next year.

If you want to experience everything fall, this is the place to go! Located just 1.5 hours out of Chicago, edwards apple orchard has activities for all ages! From apple picking to petting zoo to pony rides to endless fall foods and drinks, they have it all. Located on abuse property, you can enjoy picking your own apples, drinking apple cider, and eating their FRESH WARM DELICIOUS Apple cider donuts (do not leave without trying them!) Depending on the season, they also offer berry picking and pumpkins picking. Their mart Carries all items fall- from apple jelly to apple fudge, you name it, they have it! It's truly a fun experience for all!

On our fall road trip, we stopped by Edward's Orchard in Poplar Grove for an apple donut run. We visited briefly and spent most of our time in their barnyard store. Their store is massive! They have seasonal food and gift items aplenty. It's hard to resist leaving without buying anything. My husband and I bought food items and a 1/2 dozen apple donuts. I regret not getting a second bag of donuts because they were legit tasty! The apple donuts had a nice cinnamon sugar crust with a milky soft center. They're best consumed fresh and warm. If you need to reheat the donuts from the fridge, bake them in the oven for 15-16 minutes at 300 degrees. They're perfect with a cold glass of milk. If we had more time, we would've stayed longer. There's a lot to do and you can make a good day trip out of it.

Just a fun fall activity. It's nice to go pick fresh apples and shop the local farm goods in the area. Everyone is so friendly.

Love this orchard to kick off fall! Totally worth the drive as this quality Orchard never disappoints. The hot apple cider taste like you're actually drinking apples. Sizable amount and it lasted my entire visit. The apple pie just melts in your mouth as it's so tender and freshly baked in a perfect flaky crust. Apple cider donuts? This place has mastered the perfect such donut second to none!

Every year, we make it a fall tradition to go to our favorite Edwards Orchard for apple-picking. Even though it's an hour away, the quality of their apples and their products are so worth it! It's huge too with lots of fun activities for all ages. There's the main barn where you can buy all their goodies and some apples or fresh produce. We always get their salsas, dip mix, breakfast sausage, apple smoked bacon, ameretto fudge, their cider donuts, apple cider donuts, and so many other goodies. We go all out. You have to get their caramel dip! It pairs perfectly with the apples. There is another barn with all their baked goods you can eat right then. They have goodies like apple pie and cider donuts. And then another barn with more food options available. We always get their nachos and pulled pork. Their cider donuts are unmatched and we have gone to so many orchards. Even their apple pie is unmatched. Their apple cider is the best too. When I tell you this place has quality products, I mean it. I have gone to so many orchards and we still keep coming back. It is so much fun to go apple picking too! It is $45 per basket with a $3 deposit on the basket. You can fill it to the brim. They have plenty of apples with all different stops you can get off if you prefer a specific type. I'm usually a honeycrisp or ambrosia kind of gal. The basket is huge and you can most definitely share with another family. The employees are incredible and you can tell that this work means a lot to them. I believe it is family owned and it explains a lot! You can tell in the way they organize things that they want each family to feel like part of their own. For years to come, I will always come back to Edwards Orchard!

Drove up from Chicago to visit Edwards. Very easy to get too, short drive north off of I-90 going towards Rockford. They had a good variety of apples as expected from an orchard, but it was a nice touch having descriptions for each apple. They also had samples going out too. I was a big fan of the rosalee Apples and picked up a couple of pecks. The winner here is definitely the fresh Apple cider donuts. Easily the best orchard apple cider donuts I ever had. Had them super hot and fresh. They were Soo soft and just right amount of sugar on them. The donuts themselves is worth the drive. The apple cider was very good too. Everyone here was friendly and attentive on our questions. Very good workers here. This is a great place for families with different activities for kids and families. Would definitely come back here next year for the donuts and try new apples.

Love this orchard... it is so nice; the store smells nice. The donuts are readily available to buy by the dozen or 1/2 order.

So many goodies and just getting started.

What a wonderful day to enjoy with the family. Shopping was first on our list to get all the jams, dips, and many items. You have to get the fresh, warm doughnuts - the best. My son bought 4 dozen to take back to friends in Tennessee. You can have a meal or maybe just a piece of warm apple pie with ice cream or carmel apple. Big decisions with all these choices. The waiting time seems long, but the lines move fast. If you have children, there is a play area with lots for them to do. A barn with animals to feed, too. There is a field to park in. I also notice there is a schedule of what you can pick in the orchards or fields. This is the place to go if you like making charcuterie boards to get great jams and jellies. I hope you find time to visit Edwards Orchard in Poplar Grove. My favorite place for a fall day.

It was an hour drive and we got our strawberries, walked around a bit, and left; all told we were there for maybe 20 minutes or so and I don't think it was worth the drive. I'll probably pick up from a farmer's market instead, unless I'm nearby. They have more than just the produce here, as there's a little gift shop area on the one side of the building that has gift items, children's toys and clothes, and more. They also have a counter where you can order food, and a nice outdoor area to eat at. I will say that what I REALLY appreciated was that it wasn't a farm carnival, as some of them are now with rides and lines and parking that's blocks away. This is a more straightforward farm stand, which is what I wanted.

You purchase an empty bag for picking apples before starting. A bag costs $30 and holds ~ 30 pounds according to them which works out to $3 a pound. The weather was nice and it was plenty of apple trees to pick from. There were only a couple of other people picking apples while we were there. I imagined these huge trees with apples high up to reach for, but all the trees were around 4 to 5ft. There was several very long rows of different apple trees to walk up and down. I am now convinced to get an apple tree for my back yard since the size isn't huge. The farm had play areas and activities for children so it is a cool place to bring the kids. We hit the store and I bought apple cider donuts that just happened to be really delicious. Most of the produce and products seemed to be a little pricey, but I'm thinking everything is supposed to be organic so the prices are mor.
