Wow this place is great for a simple pumpkin patch without feeling like you're getting your pockets sucked dry. Our family had such a great time today. My review is simple because this place is simple and unique.

    Wagons for toting your pumpkins
    Sarah S.

My friends and I have an annual tradition of picking out pumpkins and getting our carve on. Last week I was housesitting out in bufu for a coworker and the only good thing about being out in bufu was that there were like 10 pumpkin patches in close vicinity. Dave's Pumpkins happened to be less than a mile and my beautiful friends made the trip out so we could check it out. Dave's Pumpkins is unlike any of the huge big name places (Goebbert's, Didier, etc) and I actually think that's a very good thing. It doesn't have the inhumanely treated animals, nor does it have the shop packed full of goodies, nor other fun activities - also it's free to get into! There isn't much parking which isn't a huge issue most of the time but at one point it did get quite packed. My poor friend couldn't find a parking spot! They have a pretty large selection of pumpkins of all different shapes & sizes, plus some very cool BLUE pumpkins. And the great thing is, price has nothing to do with weight or size. All pumpkins are $6. There are some mini pumpkins for $2 and pie pumpkins for $3. In addition they have squash, gourds, Indian corn, haystalks and gorgeous flowers for insanely cheap prices. Plus they have free wagons to assist in toting all your goodies. Important to note all payment is on the honor system. They have a drop box for cash & checks, so come prepared knowing you can't use a credit card. There were some cute little wood cutouts which allowed for some cute photo ops but our crowning moment was climbing into a huge truck of pumpkins and getting a cute shot of that. Hayrides were closed on the day we went due to rain but they normal do occur for a $2 fee. There is also a corn maze to walk through but it wasn't well filled out when we walked through. In other words, I would be at the beginning of the maze, one friend in the middle, one at the end and we could all clearly see each other. They also had some tiny toy tractors kids could ride around on in a fenced off area. I will neither confirm nor deny my friends and I mounting these little toys and riding around. Dave's Pumpkins is a no frills pumpkin patch where you can get your fun on, on the cheap. I'd definitely recommend it if your main concern is getting pumpkins. However if you want the extravagant Halloween experience, you may want to try one of the other big name spots.

    Nice socially distanced hay ride

Such a great little stop for pumpkins without the over the top hullabaloo and prices. Want a quick but fun trip? Or to not drop $100 at a pumpkin patch? This is your place. Safety measures were in place and the hay ride is socially distanced.

My daughter by the mini pie pumpkins where there are smoke bubbles.

Last weekend I visited Dave's pumpkins again as I have most years for so many years. It was so fun as it always has been. The haunted hayride was even better than before & it was already awesome! There is a new haunted hayride trail this year & it is like nothing else anywhere ever. I heard someone talking about some of the cool decorations on the Haunted hayride & from what they said I realized my previous review should be corrected (I don't know how to edit it), because they sell a terrific selection of things like gourds, straw bales, & crops other of Halloween stuff but not plastic type etc. decorations. I felt a bit like a kid again in the stunning nature with the fun hayride. The pumpkins were beautiful high quality & huge. We also loved the mini & pie pumpkins near my daughter in the picture below.

Amazing planning partner Hannah exhibited extraordinary creativity, thoughtful touches, & attention to detail. All meals were delicious, with unexpected surprises like cute, decorated tables & fresh kettle corn. Every wish was made to come true, from caramel apples cut into manageable pieces, to iced tea & water dispensers to cut down plastic waste, to private space to set up swag bags & executives to take calls, & adjacent private restrooms. The grounds are clean & inviting, not just for kids! Leaders enjoyed a Selfie Scavenger Hunt allowing them to explore the extensive farm's cool stuff to accomplish the goal. They enjoyed it and those with kids all wanted to bring their families back. Who wouldn't? There's a pumpkin-eating dinosaur! The main team-building activity Hannah recommended was a salsa making & marketing campaign contest. It started with teams picking beautiful fresh vegetables themselves (heirloom tomatoes, peppers & chiles of all kinds,) cool take-home logo aprons, salsa judge from the Mexican restaurant that provided hot lunch (we ate the resulting salsas at my suggestion), and ended with GORGEOUS blown glass red pepper trophies for the 2 categories, Best Salsa & Best Marketing Plan. It was outstanding in every conceivable way, a perfect activity for a sales & marketing team, totally Hannah's idea, FANTASTIC organization down to the smallest detail, and they were so surprised at how fun it was and how utterly relevant! The salsas were delicious; all condiments and necessary tools were provided with decorated worktables for each team, fun relay games while the vegetables were washed...I can't think of a single thing that could have been done better. Our evening dinner was to start with drinks & appetizers in the beautiful patio area outside the large conference space, but due to sundown timing, that plan was adjusted to dinner first followed by s'mores by the fire pits. It was a glorious evening, the signature cocktail I requested was prepared perfectly along with all the bar offerings and wine, and everyone received a bag to pick applies in the orchard with the help of the Owner directing them to the best apples of the season. Once they were done picking applies, they were directed to the end of an orchard row where a magical scene awaited them as the sun went down: a beautiful table set up with fall-themed twinkly-lighted decorations, lights in the trees, scrumptious gourmet barbecue (seriously, every single dish was DELICIOUS), and a talented guitar player strumming tunes for ambiance. They were driven via the big farm wagon to and from the locations, which in itself was fun! Then back to the patio for full bar, s'mores, music, and comradery around the fire pits. No bugs, no distracting outside people or noise, nothing but fantastic food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. People said it was like something out of a reality show, and they were absolutely overwhelmed. Hannah worked with me through developing every detail to make it everything that we asked for, and more, and kept the budget ridiculously reasonable for everything, all-inclusive. They're working on the only issue we encountered, which was some A/V challenges, to make their facilities even more conducive to corporate events. As it was, the audio-visual & sound limitations of the huge room, normally used for weddings and large events, and a bit overwhelming for our smallish group, led to some problems. However, Hannah and their charming A/V technician were super diligent with working to make it as workable as possible, and a portable speaker made the second day much better. I am confident they will figure all that out so future engagements will be perfect. I cannot possibly recommend Goebbert's Farm & Pumpkin Patch more highly. Hannah made me look like a hero and the feedback was glowing. Grateful!

Want to entertain your kid all day while drinking a beer or glass a wine? Head here!! Everything except a few things like camel rides, is included in your $20 ticket! My girls knocked out in the car before we even left the parking lot!! Their cafeteria could use some help with line and temperature control. But the wait time wasn't too bad! Everything is well priced. I didn't feel like it was outrageous! Highly recommend their chicken sandwich! The cider slushy, donuts and chocolate chip cookies are also great!! So many different things for kids to do, photo opts and very clean!!

Lovely and unique gifts that you can't find anywhere else. Beautiful Christmas displays with trees in almost every room filled with lovely ornaments. A great layout that kept the place from getting too cluttered with people when it was busy. An outdoor green house. Large indoor green houses. They even placed orders for people who needed to send flowers out of state. My godmother had called them up to ask for a flower arrangement to be sent to one of her former riding students who had won a championship in college, and Flowerwood sent the order to a florist closer to the college and they didn't disappoint as the student was greeted with a large horseshoe in the shape of flowers. Since it went under new ownership, my mom and I only went 2 or 3 times before the building was changed and things seemed to go under fast! Whenever I drive by, it makes me so sad to see that the new owner did this to this lovely place. I've heard that the roofs on the green houses were starting to cave in and that's scary since people need to go in there in order to get their flowers. Very dangerous! I feel really bad for the people that have worked there and had to go through all of this. Maybe someone else will take over the place and turn it back into the place that it used to be back in its heyday.

No interest in U-Pick, thank you, though they do this throughout the season (check their instagram for info on when they are allowing U-Pick). It was a fine place but I'm not sure if I would make the trip again. It was an hour drive and we got our strawberries, walked around a bit, and left; all told we were there for maybe 20 minutes or so and I don't think it was worth the drive. I'll probably pick up from a farmer's market instead, unless I'm nearby. They have more than just the produce here, as there's a little gift shop area on the one side of the building that has gift items, children's toys and clothes, and more. They also have a counter where you can order food, and a nice outdoor area to eat at. I will say that what I REALLY appreciated was that it wasn't a farm carnival, as some of them are now with rides and lines and parking that's blocks away. This is a more straightforward farm stand, which is what I wanted.
