Richardson Farm Tulip Fest! We came around 10:30am on a Friday and we basically had the field to ourselves. There's over 1 million tulips planted, and there were plenty of photo ops throughout. I also love that the tulips were planted in the shape of a butterfly this year, but wish there was some way to see it from above. :( For $20 you get access to their tulip field and one u-pick tulip is included. You can purchase more tulips for $2 each if you want to pick more. Dogs are also allowed and are free to enter, but if your dog is prone to chewing on/eating flowers, maybe leave your dog home (tulips are toxic for dogs, mostly the bulbs which are underground). There are a few food trucks and lawn games to play as well. We tried the blended java chip coffee and kettle corn. The kettle corn was really good. We only spent about an hour here because there's not much else to really do. read more

My experience is going to differ a lot from other reviews because I went to Richardson Farms for the corn maze 5K, which ended up not happening at the corn maze due to the rain. I like to sign up for unique 5K courses, so I was super excited for this one. At 6am during the day of the 5K, I got a sad email saying the course has switched to the farm course for everyone who signed up for the corn maze course due to the corn maze being muddy and unsafe or something. But at least the 5K was still happened. The farm course was meh. It was muddy as well but at least it was wide dirt roads. For anyone considering going in the future, I suggest definitely going for the corn maze course instead because I imagine the farm course is meh even when it's dry. The gift shop was open for runners super early to shelter and grab some snacks, souvenirs, and bathroom breaks. The apple cider donuts are great, but only comes in half dozen. read more

Corn maze is top notch. The observation tower which doubles as a pumpkin drop (onto a vehicle) is awesome. Our kids loved their time here The pig races were funny and enjoyable. Food was good enough. I probably wouldn't buy so many heated nuts next time. We love this place! read more

I have been coming to Richardsons in the fall for the last few years. It's an adorable family spot and a fun day. The pig races are so cute, and the maze is always well done with several different challenges and paths to choose from. I've visited Richardson Farms twice now (Sept 2024 & Oct 2022) from Ohio. Both visits I had a lot of fun! Oct 2022: Friday evening visit, they were open til midnight. We did the entire corn maze which was busy but not too bad. There were some teenagers yelling/throwing corn but it was easy enough to avoid them. Warm apple cider donuts and tons of pumpkins available for purchase. Sept 2024: This visit was midday on a Friday. The sunflower field was in full bloom, and we each cut a sunflower head to take home! We also did the corn maze in record time, rarely seeing anyone else. Easy to find. Easy to pay. I did find that the e prices are a bit steep just to come in. $25 a person? Unless your kid is 2 or under. The zorb ball takes a long time to actually go, but they're trying to go as fast as they could. But being like 4-5th in line could mean a 40 minute wait. The zip line is faster. There's a lot to do with kids, jumping spaces and animal farm (small), and places to eat. The exit is a bit jumbled and had to go through the gift shop to leave, so we just pushed past people in lines to reach the exit. But overall good experience. read more

It's Fall Y'all! The best time of the year! We visited Richardson Adventure Farm on a Friday afternoon around 2/3ish and it was too crowded. We were able to experience all of the different attractions, take pictures, without tons of people around. The farm itself is dog friendly, so naturally we brought our pup. When we walked in we took some picture with the pumpkins they had our front, not as much as a typical pumpkin patch would have but still a great variety. As we walk further in there we're different houses with pumpkins that we were able to take picture in. Nothing like leaning your phone against a pumpkin and a self timer to get a good picture when no one is around,haha. As we continued to walk, there were a few different food vendors throughout the farm, along with their donut vault for fresh apple cider donuts. Deeeelishhh!! From there we walked over to the pig racing & our pup loved watching the pigs run. She may have easily been mistaken for one, haha. From velocity, to pinky, and Taylor swiftfoot. It was entertaining to watch and they genuinely enjoyed running the tracks. Once we finished watching the piggies, we went over to ride the train that went around the adventure farm so we got a peak of what's to come as we kept walking. After the train, we walked over to the sunflower fields, they had clippers, water, and bags for you to take sunflowers home with you. We wandered the fields and took some fun pictures in the field as the sun was setting. We visited the petting zoo, and watched the various animals hang out. And ended our adventure with the corn made. We went up the tower to see the full maze and it was a stunning view. The sun was getting ready to set as we were leaving but they had the midnight maze happening that evening. To leave we exited through the gift shop, and they had tons of goodies, like popcorn, donuts and more. All in all we had a great experience and can't wait to come back for tulip season. The ambiance is cozy and festive, offering a range of family-friendly activities to get you in the fall spirit. I'd definitely suggest planning ahead as parking can fill up fast, especially during peak hours. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and sweet, setting up the small eateries shortly after opening. Tried this out on a Saturday in early October. Huge property with lots to do, especially for kids! Quite a few food options, with reasonable prices and lines weren't too bad. Beautiful property, friendly staff and lots of fall fun activities for all ages. We rented a fire pit and it was great! Fire was attended to all night and it was a wonderful experience. My one complaint is that this places entry fee is hefty and on the weekends it's even more expensive!! $24 weekdays and $30 on weekends. Per person! On top of that, all the stuff that is fun for the big kids cost extra! And their extra is not cheap whatsoever. This was quite an adventure coming here today. I arrived with my wife and dog around mid afternoon on Friday and it was a good time for exploring the farm without too many people around. They have many fun activities for adults and most importantly kid's activities. We enjoyed a pig race, train ride around the farm, shot some balls through targets, and walked through sunflower fields. Once you pay the $25 per person to get in...every activity costs an additional 10-15$. This place is known to be the ghetto high school kid hangout for October now too. So expect to see dozens of 17 year old white kids throwing around the n word, cussing, shouting and being mischievous. Not a place to take your kids at night, it gets super overcrowded too you're literally shoulder to shoulder with pools of people in the gift shops. read more

Outstanding space for fall fun! Richardsons is a must do for fall activities! Came in September and wandered through this expansive property... made the mistake of waiting til dark to start the corn maze (bring flashlights if this your plan because the maze isn't lit!). There are so many fun things to do tucked in every corner and I'm not sure if we got lucky but there were absolutely no lines which is a huge win for us and makes it worth the hour long drive. All of the staff were happy and helpful, bathrooms were clean and warm on a chilly fall day. The kids always fall asleep on the way home and that's how we know we've had a great day! Autumn corn maze is a fun time! If it is going to be warm and/or sunny bring a hat and water! Once inside the corn maze you will loose the breeze and it is hot in there! The venue is very manicured and not 'farm' like, they could plant some native shade trees or apples trees but it's just really sunny.. no noticeable native plants or perennial beds just cute seasonal displays. We didn't have kids in the group but I would say it's a wonderfully fun day for the littles to enjoy with their families! Using the restrooms walk up to the ones by the Donut Bin. Those ones have less traffic and are bigger, newer, and cleaner than the ones in the main gift shop building. read more

Thank you Richardsons! I never knew about this place until my girlfriend took my bf and I here. I am a self proclaimed huge fall lover and this place right here checks off all the boxes! Great food, a huge and fun cornfield maze and a plethora of activities to do! There is a small fee to enter but with the amount of stuff there is to do, I didn't mind. The lady who we got our tickets from was sweet enough to give my bf a sweet discount as she immediately saw his navy fed card and thanked him for his service so that was. A nice touch and much appreciated. As soon as we got in, we saw so many pumpkins everywhere with a lot of photo ops. Naturally, we had to take full advantage of that. It definitely had this farm feel with a whole bunch of fall aesthetics throw in. So, you'd see farm houses, smoke stacks, grain silos and lots of pumpkins. Additionally, so many people were walking their dogs and I'm a dog lover so I loved seeing all the pooches!! Another thing is that this property is huge, I mean massive and it's all family owned which is mind blowing. I was super happy to be here to support it though. You definitely get a community vibe when you're here which is really nice to feel. My gf also couldn't stop raving about the food trucks, specially, her poutine. Before I knew it, we were out in an immediate hunt to find the "Fork N Fry" poutine truck. Once we located it, it was time to order. I'm also a poutine newbie so I wasn't sure what to order. After a quick glance of the menu, I ordered the garlic Parmesan with some jalapeños. I don't believe I went full on Canadian with the gravy but what I had was delicious. The potatoes were nice and tender. The garlic parmesan had some zing to it and wasn't over powering where you felt like you had garlic breath the whole time. They also gave you a good amount so the price was justified. After we ate, we then thought it was time to do the worlds largest corn maze. My gf told me that there is a different theme each year so this years theme was Jurassic Park. They give you a map and there a bunch of little mazes within this gigantic corn maze that you can complete. There are little stampers that correspond with the numbers on the maze so you can tell which maze you've completed and where you are within the bigger corn maze. It was definitely getting darker which made it spookier but a lot of fun. It was so fun to see families that had headlights and flashlights make their way through the maze. We ended up doing about a maze and a half of the little mazes but could not complete the whole maze. We ended up at Richardsons after going to Royal Oaks farm in the middle of the day so if we wanted to do the whole corn maze, we should started earlier which is something we'll note for next time. There's a lot of walking involved but it was a lot of fun! I definitely want to go back. We ended the night getting some delicious fudge. I mean, I don't have to say much, it's homemade fudge....if you find any cons with this, please share and we can chat! Haha! Absolutely delicious fudge! Yum yum yum! Overall, I had a blast and am looking forward to coming back again. In honor of annual #thankyouthursday, I just want to thank Richardsons Farm for allowing my friends and I to get out of the everyday hectic-ness of our ritualistic lives and enjoy being in the present. We made it out the to Tulip Festival on the last day they were open, Mother's Day. And while there were definitely many rows of dead soldiers (a couple of chilly nights must've wreaked havoc), there were still lots of tulips in bloom and the layouts alone were impressive. It being the last day, we were permitted to cut and take a dozen home with us, as opposed to the one you would have normally gotten with entry. Scissors in hand, I became an expert floral arranger in no time, testing petals for wilt, and snipping only the finest specimens. Bags and water were available at the exit. There was a nice allotment of food trucks and tables in a large clearing, as well as live music. Had I been hungry, I'd have no doubt indulged in hot dogs and churros. But as it was, I still didn't make an escape without stopping by the gift shop for some fudge and hot sauce. Sure, this place can seem a bit pricy, but for the amount of time you can pass, whether in a corn maze or amidst the tulips, it's always more than worth it. read more

I give the tulips a 3. I went on a Friday so I only had to pay $16. I understand all the upkeep of something like this; a lot of watering and having people work the gift shop and everything. I don't know what all the costs are, but they have to be expensive to maintain this farm. However, I was underwhelmed yesterday. In all honesty, I was expecting more tulips. I was expecting more fields of tulips. I took pictures and I made it look better than it was. I also drove 100 miles round-trip to the farm. Obviously, that was my choice. I was so excited to be able to go on May 5. I wish I didn't leave disappointed. I did my best. I am an adult so I can control my feelings. But if I went on the weekend for $19 and I compare it to the Morton Arboretum or the Chicago Botanic Gardens, I think the admission fee to Richardson's should be less. Just my opinion. I think I was paying for a lot of overhead. I don't know. Next year I will be finding a different place to go see fields of tulips. read more

We participated in their 5k " worlds largest corn maze run" It was a lot of fun . Maze was a little muddy but that's to be expected because we've had some rain . The farm is lovely and their are lots of activities for kids . I actually remember bringing my kids here years ago when they were younger and them having a great time . We also bought some mums. They were lovely and nicely priced ! Plan to do the race again next year and hopefully get more mums too !! read more

Went here today with my three young adult kids for a fun taste of fall. Looked charming on the outside. Stepped up to the window and paid a pretty shocking $120 JUST TO GET IN. Once we got in we noticed we had to pay for a lot of the activities. Really?? We saw a fun activity where you go inside a big plastic ball and roll down a hill. Let's try that out we all said. We did try it out but it cost us $20 a piece to do it-- ONE TIME. That's another $80. Our tab was up to $200 in the first 15 minutes. We did get to have a few goats and a llama lick our hands FOR FREE! And we also got to get lost in a bunch of corn stalks FOR FREE! We also got to ride broken go-karts (the pedal kind of course) FOR FREE! All in all, we had a decent time thanks to the glorious Fall weather but felt a little taken advantage of money wise. Just my opinion. We would suggest looking into Stade's apple orchard for something a little more reasonable on the wallet. read more

This review is for the tulip festival running this spring. Definitely worth the drive on out. While the signage was a bit vague, once you find your way by the tulips there is ample parking and the festival is a close walk. While the $12 a person can be a bit pricy, the exhibit is gorgeous and photogenic enough to warrant the cost, plus it includes one tulip per person. There was ample tulips for picking, various photo set ups and cute props. The colors and variety are just breathtaking!! There is a separate area that is a no pick zone, which allows for some beautiful photo opportunities or just to bask in the beauty. Walking through all the tulips I was surprised by how many there were and how long the path spanned. In terms of food and facilities, both were adequate. On a Thursday there was a couple food trucks (hamburgers, hotdogs popcorn) very basic but would meet your needs if you were really very hungry. There is also a gift shop with popcorn, donuts and fudge. The restrooms were clean and located conveniently in the gift shop, which to note though was a drive from the actual tulip display but easily accessible by car. All in all, definitely a fun activity for the flower lover in your life read more

The farm has so many different activities. It has the largest corn maze which has many different paths. There's a lot of free activities for kids including different slides, train ride, carousel and hay rides. There's a few different jumping beans and they have pig races at different time. For $30 per person, it's worth the money for a pumpkin patch. There's a few activities that are extra money including paintball and zip lining but I don't think it was that expensive. Dogs are welcome especially friendly ones and you can pick up to 3 free tulips which after that each are $1. We picked out a couple and got some amazing pictures. I love that they had food trucks there, multiple. I love that they are welcoming more businesses into their own to support the community. How does a going to a farm on one of the first cold nights of October sound? Well, I'm sure to most out there that does not sounds like how they would want to spend their Friday night. However, Richardson Farms knows how to do it. They have little bonfires throughout their many attractions and acres. They celebrate some of the coolest things and they do so in Maze form. They offer plenty of snackage and hot beverages to keep you warm and toasty. I don't think I saw one person that worked there that wasn't genuinely enjoying themselves. They also offer a wide variety of Vendors. I got to have some poutine which was welcomed due to its warmth. But the truly best part in my opinion was the maze under the full harvest moon. You can't go wrong here. They even let you for 5 dollars drop 2 pumpkins onto wrecked cars from their observation tower that also doubles as a zip line! read more

Be it any season, Richardson Adventure Farms is always a great place to visit. Catch the tulip fields as they're only around for 1 to 2 weekends late spring. During late summer and fall you can see their 13 acre sunflower field, beautiful! You can watch pig races, get lost in the huge 33 acre corn maze, climb the observation tower, stay at night and nestle around a campfire, zip line, zorb (get into a large ball and roll around), go to the petting zoo, and much more. Not sure if they're still doing it, but they even have a decent fireworks display around the 4th. Of course they have great fall pumpkins. Want to cut a fresh Christmas tree, you can come here a day after Thanksgiving. Of course they make fresh donuts, sell local wine, local honey, art, and more. Sometimes you have to drive around on unpaved, grass and/or gravel roads which I don't like, so heads up. All in all, a great way to get out and spend a day in the fresh air. I have been coming here for three years and the Christmas tree event is wonderful except for one area. After purchasing a tree you can drive your vehicle up to have the tree tied down to your car. However the staff there damaged my car with the method they used to secure the tree. We informed the employee immediately that they scratched my car and ripped up the weather seal on the window . The employee apologized but said no other car has complained. It's a shame that the ending to our tree memory was a damaged car.... Please Richardson Farm teach different tie down tactics and/or patrons please pay attention to how they secure the tree to your car! read more

Huge farm! There are a lot of activities. I would say that kids under 8 would have a blast, the closer to ten, the less there is to do...Unless you want to fork over the big bucks. The free activities are spread out and plentiful, but more geared foe those younger kids. The pig race is funny, the train ride is relaxing, the bouncy pillows need more air, and the slide is really fun. There are lots of other small activities to fill the time. And, of course there are the corn mazes. There are lots of courses and they weave for miles. If you are looking to get your steps in, you can do it here. As for the the things that cost money, they are a bit expensive. It's $15 for the zip line. That's a bit pricey. I wished there would have been a break of you bought two zips. One is so quick. After $18 to get in, $15 is steep for the zip line. The orb ball was $30 for two people. The entire roll is 14 seconds. Again, quite a price tag. The day's bill for our family was $122 with admission, two zips, two man orb, one hot dog, one water and a funnel cake. I'm glad we went once, but we will keep it more local for the future. read more
