Super charming with a true family vibe, and had tons of trees that looked great! Cash only; $70 for any size or type of tree.

If you're looking for the perfect pumpkin patch go here! I searched long and hard for a place that…read morewasn't overcrowded, didn't have animal rides or ridiculous pig races and landed here. Boy boi did it surprise me. Crowds: they limit tickets into their farm meaning it doesn't feel like you stepped into Disney land with insane crowds. Busy enough to feel exciting but not where you're bumping into people left and right. Cornmaze: the HIGHLIGHT of our visit. This isn't any ordinary corn maze. They have an entire scavenger hunt that connects to their app. So you have to find 14 question and scan the QR code to answer. If you find all 14 (it's a hunt) and get all the questions right you're entered into a raffle. We had SO much and found all 14. It was such a fun bonding experience for our family. Pumpkins, mums, and more: the pumpkins and mums felt very reasonably priced. And the mums were HUGE and healthy compared to getting them at the big stores. We also enjoyed some hot cocoa, hot apple cider and kettle corn. All delicious. Animals: I'm an animal activist and reduce to visit places where animals are forced to provide entertainment. This place had a petting zoo but didn't allow kids inside and there was no actual animals rides. Thank you Kroll's. We ended our trip with the hay ride which was also a treat and perfect way to relax before leaving. So stop what you're doing and pay them a visit! The cutest pumpkin patch

There's over 1 million tulips planted, and there were plenty of photo ops throughout. I also love that the tulips were planted in the shape of a butterfly this year, but wish there was some way to see it from above. :( For $20 you get access to their tulip field and one u-pick tulip is included. You can purchase more tulips for $2 each if you want to pick more. Dogs are also allowed and are free to enter, but if your dog is prone to chewing on/eating flowers, maybe leave your dog home (tulips are toxic for dogs, mostly the bulbs which are underground). There are a few food trucks and lawn games to play as well. We tried the blended java chip coffee and kettle corn. The kettle corn was really good. We only spent about an hour here because there's not much else to really do.

I like to sign up for unique 5K courses, so I was super excited for this one. At 6am during the day of the 5K, I got a sad email saying the course has switched to the farm course for everyone who signed up for the corn maze course due to the corn maze being muddy and unsafe or something. But at least the 5K was still happened. The farm course was meh. It was muddy as well but at least it was wide dirt roads. For anyone considering going in the future, I suggest definitely going for the corn maze course instead because I imagine the farm course is meh even when it's dry. The gift shop was open for runners super early to shelter and grab some snacks, souvenirs, and bathroom breaks. The apple cider donuts are great, but only comes in half dozen.

We went to Grandpa's based on all of the positive reviews, feeling confident that we'd be getting a…read moregreat quality tree with friendly service. The weather was pretty terrible, but we were greeted warmly and given directions to wander the farm, as the tree varieties were all mixed together. Perhaps it was a tough year for Christmas trees, but the selection was very limited and the trees themselves weren't all that impressive. Upon inspection, many of them (we were looking for Fraser Firs) had sparse patches and inner needles and branches that were browning. There wasn't a single Fraser (and we walked the entire property) without some measure of browning, so I went to an employee to ask about the health of the trees. He was rather short with me and assured me that some trees just grew with that coloring. I asked him specifically if we needed to worry about the trees drying out and losing needles prematurely, and he replied, "You're cutting down a fresh tree, of course that's not a problem." We took his word for it and purchased a Fraser. It was in water within the hour and we put it up that evening. The first indication of a problem was the lack of water intake - according to Grandpa's directions, fresh trees should be drinking lots of water in the first day or two. Our tree stand barely needed refilling after the first night. The second indicator was a complete lack of scent from the tree or branches; in fact, by the second day there was an almost unpleasant aroma coming from the inner branches. The kicker is that one week after cutting down this tree, it has lost maybe 1/4 of its needles - we have branches that are ENTIRELY bare and we vacuum canisters full of needles each day. Aside from the terrible quality of the tree, I'm disheartened and angry that I was lied to and tricked into buying a half-dead tree. At this point it would have been more convenient and neater to set my $60 on fire. We will never return to this farm and have warned away everyone we know that was looking to cut down a fresh tree this year. Grandpa's should be ashamed of their dishonesty and terrible product.

I see Kevin P gave Grandpa's a pretty good review a couple of years ago. Not sure what's happened…read morein two years, but we were there last week and the tree we cut down is horrible. I'm 61 years old and I've NEVER had such a horrible tree. It hasn't soaked up much water at all and it's losing so many needles that it will be bare by Christmas. It's only been in the house for a week! Every time I brush against it, they fall and fall. Our daughter and her family came with us to cut their tree and they're having the same problem. There weren't too many nice trees, and many of them were brown inside. My daughter asked about that and was told "oh, don't worry about that, they just grow that way sometimes." We chose Grandpa's because they charged a fair price, but we could have paid $1 for this tree and it would have been too much. And, to top if off, this tree smells bad. I don't mean that it just doesn't smell good - it smells bad. So disappointed. We are probably going to take it down and get another one.
