Property Letting Centre, based on Newington Road, seems like one of the city's smaller letting agents compared to Grant Management, for example. They have managed my current flat on behalf of our landlords for the past couple of years. On the whole, their service has been good. In the period leading up to taking the flat, signing the lease and moving in, they were very helpful, always keeping us up to date with how things were progressing. They also helped out in the period immediately after we moved in, helping us to set up our gas and electricity accounts. This good service continued once we were established. They responded to any queries we had quickly and efficiently, apart from maybe a couple of times when it took a few days. Apart from the occasional thing that they promised, and didn't deliver on, they were thorough and professional. When considered against the many other letting agents, and some of the horror stories that I have heard of them, they were very good. I would happily rent a property managed by them again. read more

Paid a double deposit and first month of rent to secure a room via e-mail. When I returned from my holiday to move in, they told me the room was still occupied. Was shoved for 2 days in a hotel before stuffing me into a substandard flat with no heating nor internet. Apparently, the tenant occupying the room I paid for will not be leaving a month later. I was (and am) still raging. Staff was rude in dealing with the situation, they will not tell you anything unless you ask or when the problem has already escalated. Started bringing in your race and ethnicity to cover up they messed up the situation. Cheekily told me that these situations happen all the time and they expect you to stay with a friend when that happens. Like seriously? Stay with a friend for a month? Are they for real or just desperate to paint themselves in a better light? Imagine coming back from your holiday and being left stranded on the streets with your luggage. Their emergency number rarely works, had to call for an hour before someone picked up. They had no choice but the stuff me in travelodge for two nights and emphasized its out of the goodness of their hearts that they pay for it. Honestly, if they did not I would have gone to the police and sued them for fraud. DO NOT work with PLC, unless you want to be treated like trash. read more

Terrible customer service and inability to attend to even the simplest maintenance tasks. If they are not turning up when they say they will, they have no qualms about freely letting themselves into your home with their own set of keys whenever they feel like it. Their ability to respond to even the most severe maintenance issues is a joke (we have been waiting almost a year for them to fix our rotten window frames so the glass doesn't fall out into the street below), and despite being lovely on the phone I have found them to be unreliable, untruthful and downright dangerous in their complete lack of professionalism. They are nice and easy to deal with, handle any maintenance issues quickly and explain things in a straightforward manner. While I was still flat hunting, I looked at a few of their properties and the agent answered all the questions I had and didn't try and rush me. Never again: Avoid. I should have known when I went to view the property and the agent failed to arrive. After phoning and waiting, I was given a very passive viewing and the agent failed to have vital information such as availability dates or keys to access on of the rooms which was available to let. Despite this, and needing an urgent place to live, I took the room. Unfortunately, the property was riddled with serious maintenance issues including safety concerns. I repeatedly notified the agents of these problems, wrote letters and emails, and visited the offices in person. Nothing was ever resolved. I was eventually left. I cannot recommend this experience nor have I anything positive to say about this company. read more

A complete waste of time!!! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My experience with them was unbelievable. I went to a viewing and I was told that by the letting agent that it is first come first serve and I have to go to their office to put a deposit in order for the property to be taken out of the market. Since I liked the apartment I went to their office right after the viewing. While I was giving the deposit I just decided to double check that its first come first serve but to my surprise the lady in the office denied that and said they would be choosing between applicants if there is high interest in the flat. I've decided to put the deposit anyway which was 250£ since I really liked the flat and to see what happens. This happened on Monday and I was told that they will make a decision no latter that Tuesday or Wednesday. To my surprise they didn't contacted me up until Thursday ( almost end of the day) whatsoever when I gave them a call to ask if they had made any decision. What they told me over the phone was that they were having some technical issues and I should try calling tomorrow, they asked me for my name and told me no decision has been made. On Friday I went to the agency and I ask if they made a decision and then I was given my application stating that they needed more information which wasn't mention over the phone even though they took my name and had a look when we spoke. They were not aware that I have sent additional documents over email which was given to me by them so that's why I have left blank few things in the application. They were also unaware that there is a second person for the application who send all of his documents over to the same email. The girl who was dealing with the whole thing was not even present that day since she had a day off and nobody else was able to give me much of information at all. I was told to try on Monday again. So I did ... I went to the office again and asked what is the status of the flat .... and after she had a look at the system she told me they've decided to give it to someone else ... however i never got any call or email from them during the whole process even though they were late. They didn't consider to be necessary to let me know about anything and even at the end I had to go their office to find they have chosen another applicants and I can get my deposit back. Finally I got a apology which seemed anything but sincere. So to sum up I would say quite unprofessional, not interested in you and complete lack of communication. read more

I have been very much helped by everyone at this estate agents, in the finding of a flat in Edinburgh. They have been really helpful and have been supportive and understanding of my current tricky position. in that I am moving from Wales to Scotland and have had a lot of difficulty in finding a flat as I live so far away. They have been very accommodating, so far! I am yet to move in so I cannot give a 5 star rating just yet, as I have not had the ongoing service and aftercare however, if there after care is as good as their initial support then they will have a 5 star rating from me very soon!
