It's been difficult to find a decent place after moving from the bay area, and after having 3 failed attempts before I came here. Gail makes it so comfortable for you and she's hilarious, it seemed as if I've known her for awhile. It's very apparent that she's been doing this for a good amount of time because not only is she fast, but she's extremely efficient at her work. So I tried this place because my normal wax place was not open... Big mistake. When I arrived she immediately just told me get undressed without an introduction or anything. The place was tiny, cluttered, stale air, and the bed had an old dingy smell. The positions she had me in were uncomfortable she was rough and the conversation she tried to make was over all insensitive to human decency. She left spots and wax I didn't find out because there was no proper privacy for me to check her work so I had to leave. Oh I found out that she does not sanitize because immediately after I left she had another person coming assuming he got the same experience I did. If you're thinking about saving money on a wax don't wasn't you're time here $40 sounds nice but you can get a way better experience for $60 right down the street at the wax lounge and not have to worry about anything I mentioned in this segment. read more

I saw Gail for the first time today--for my first waxing! She put me very much at ease, considering my understandable anxiety. It turned out that we both attended the same massage school--some time apart--which sort of broke the ice. It definitely gave her immediate credibility as far as I was concerned! I didn't want a full waxing: I just had my shoulders, back, glutes, "intimate area", and crack done. I was surprised to experience much less discomfort than I'd expected: sort of like taking the athletic tape off a taped ankle or wrist back in my soccer-playing days. Gail has a great sense of humor, which also helps reduce the stress level of the experience. I look forward to seeing her again. First time ever getting a wax anywhere, definitely a pleasant experience. Went in expecting to scream and cry and I barely felt the tugging of the hair when she ripped them off. Got my perianal region done only and honestly the most uncomfortable part was the hot wax between your buns and not the actual waxing part. She left my butt baby smooth! Not sure about you, but I love utilizing Yelp to find new eateries and businesses. I value the reviews that I read and most of all, I value my time. I was really looking forward to my appointment with Gail and hopefully finding an aesthetician closer to home, instead of driving out to Arcadia once a month. I made my appointment on Friday, May 26th, for Tuesday (today) May 30th at 3pm. After reading another review where the client said that she was 4 minutes late, therefore denied, I made sure that I arrived at least 15 minutes ahead of time. I parked and went up to the door. I jiggled the handle, it was locked. Figured that Gail was with another client and I didn't want to be rude so I waited a bit and then knocked gently. No answer. Not wanting to interrupt someone else's service, I sent a text letting her know that I was there-had been there- waiting. Thinking she'd see the text when she's done with the other client and would know that I didn't arrive late. At 3 I knock again, no answer. Fast forward to 3:20. I knock harder. Still no answer so I send her a direct, yet polite text that I had waited and would have appreciated a call if she wasn't going to be able to keep my appointment. Ten minutes later she replies that she didn't hear my text because she was with the fire dept because her and her neighbor have a gas leak at their residence. I proceeded to let her know that that is unfortunate but it was also unprofessional of her as a supposed professional to not inform me that she wasn't going to make the appointment. Like I had mentioned earlier, I value my time. I won't go into the personal inconvenience that this all created and it sure did in many ways, but I can say that I cannot recommend Gail. I've dealt with a severe gas leak at home before, I know how it works. That's no excuse for leaving me hanging. As a professional she should know what appointments she has and could have touched bases with me earlier in the morning or even 5 minutes prior, hell, even at 3---any time instead of me reaching out to her first. I sincerely feel bad if she had an emergency and hope that she didn't just feel like not going in for a 3 o'clock appointment, because karma is a bitch. I know that I would never want to make an appointment with someone in which I'm unsure if it's going to be kept or not. Next time I'll just do my drive to Arcadia, where I know my appointment will be kept, or I'll at least receive the courtesy of knowing in advance if it won't be,because crap does happen, but professionals know how to handle it and therefore get repeat customers. Shit, maybe this was my karma for trying to cheat on my aesthetician....Shame on me. Karma's funny huh? I bet Gail never has another gas leak. read more
