I don't have high expectations for independent print shops and try to support local businesses when possible - Unfortunately, my experience with the printing store is making me rethink these two standards. read more

I was looking to have funeral bookmarks printed for my grandmother's services so came to look on Yelp for a place to do printing. Honestly, I was thinking Kinkos, Office Max, etc and then I saw the awesome reviews The Printing Store has. Amazing - I was in and out with the bookmarks printed in no more than 30 min. This included me explaining what I needed, downloading the bookmark template I made, re-formatting, printing to see if I liked one, confirming the price, and then printing, cutting, etc. I assumed I would have to wait at least a few to 24 hours! I'm grateful - they made it so easy and were very kind. I will be back for all of our printing needs in the future. Also, the price was reasonable!! read more

I have used this business before to do small runs of printing in my capacity as a Realtor. They have always done an excellent job. Today I went in with a very last minute, very small job (traveling internationally with my kids, and my son planned on dragging 100 pounds of textbooks To keep up with his homework). I needed to copy a handful of pages out several textbooks. Phil Barry assisted me, asked me a couple questions came up with a way to minimize the number of pieces of paper I'd be stuck with and took care of it. They clearly are busy, lots of work was taking place, and he took the time to thoughtfully help me just as if I was asking about a $5k printing job. This print shop has much to offer at reasonable prices. I brought my business card design to them, after an online print shop (vistaprint.com) failed - miserably - to produce the colors I had on the design. Paul, one of the partners, and his team carefully and patiently worked with me on fine-tuning my Photoshop file. One of his guys spent hours adjusting the colors and layers, free of charge (would've cost me a fortune, at their $100/hr design rate). Paul even took me for a tour of the shop floor, explaining how it worked and the differences between using the digital printer and the press. Several weeks later, after many design versions and proofs, we were finally ready to print. The final price was about half of what vistaprint would charge: 500 cards x 4 designs (2000 cards total) for $250. Not many stores would pay such personal attention to customers and detail. The only gripe I have is the air quality of the store. It smells like a paint shop and frankly I'm quite worried about the people working there. There's got to be some OSHA standards for things like this, no? read more

Awesome. All I needed was to print 30 invites for my son's birthday party from a hi-res jpg. In the past I've used Office Depot and they've always, always, always screwed up my order in some way. Could not have been easier: emailed the jpg, they got back to me within the day with a very competitive quote, I picked up the invites and envelopes the next day and they looked fabulous. The End. No fuss, no drama, no, "uh, we don't know where your oder is" or "uh, we can't read this very basic jpg in standard jpg format", or "uh, yes you placed your order 5 days ago, but it's not ready." Will go to them every time, and will get our Christmas cards printed there as well. read more

I cannot emphasize enough how above and beyond the staff went to help me today. I ordered very large posters that were too big to fit in my 2 door coupe. The gentlemen working the desk offered to drive the posters to the location free of charge which helped me in a huge way! They even gave me zip ties. Their work and professionalism is high level. The posters came out exceptional and the process was a piece of cake. I will definitely be working with The Printing Store on all of my Oak Park needs. What a breathe of fresh air these people are. Paul and Phil at The Printing Store makes me believe there is still hope in this world. I first went to Kinkos to get my wedding invitations printed. 100 on 80# glossy card stock, front and back images, 4x6, and black and white with cutting. They wanted to charge me $306. What a rip off!!! I went to The Printing Store in Oak Park by my house just to see what my options are and they charged me $37 for the same work and same quality!! They even offered me 100# paper instead of 80. Do your research people, like I did. I will continue going to The Printing Store for all my printing needs. Great people who are respectful, knowledgeable and have great work ethic. read more

Even though I got them my mailing lists late they turned them around and got them in the mail for me, for a reasonable price.
