These guys keep me in the Loop! This is a fun radio station…read morethat serves the community. They play a local playlist of bands from Chicago, songs about Illinois, and talk about local political and social issues. Since this station is on the left side of the dial, there's no real commercials on here- it truly serves the community with the occasional public service announcement. Plus, they talk about things that other radio stations won't or can't have the time to discuss. The celebrate all the local holidays, and have some in-depth discussions on all things Chicago. If you don't like the music on here, give it an hour, and the DJ will change, and they'll put something else on. This morning, I woke up jamming to Tupac with them. You can pick up this station on a smart speaker world-wide! If you're missing Chicago, or just wanting to learn a little more about the Windy City, this is a great way to tune in and turn on!

This is mainly a classic rock station, and the DJs are professional and knowledgeable about the music, they seem to really know their stuff. They play some deep tracks that you don't hear on other classic rock stations, and have some good commentary. Since it's classic rock, I guess I don't hear too many new songs. That's the trouble with classic rock. I've at least heard of nearly every artist on here. Some of the things that they consider classic rock make me feel old. I like the fact that they don't have very many commercials on here, especially compared to other stations.

There's so many advertisements on this station, it's like the few same songs, on a loop with tons and tons of ads. I can't believe there's ads for other stations on this station. Sick of this station? Come listen to this one to get sick of. This is part of the iHeart Radio Media conglomerate, which seem to have stripped all the local flavor from this station, and make it sound like any other you'd find in any other city across the country. The morning panel seems like a bunch of drivel that I really do feel dumberer listening to. When they say that they're the #1 music station, I'd like to see their data that they base that on. Their claims are dubious.

But that was more than enough. Eric, Kathy and Melissa are criminally annoying. Eric prattles on and dishes with the girls about Britney Spears, Mary Janes, fierce cosmos and pugs. But he doesn't _really_ know anything about this stuff because he is Straight (Richard Simmons), Straight (Charles Nelson Reilly), Straight (RuPaul). And Kathy and Melissa do their level best to set the women's movement back hundreds of years (respectively with inane ramblings and palpable lack of confidence) each time they open their mouths. Eric says, "The sun is a source of cold." Kathy says, "Really, Eric? Gawsh, I never thought of that before. Wooaaaooww. Gigglegiggle." Melissa says, "Um, no I don't think..." Eric says, "Aren't you old and desperate for a man?" Melissa shuts up. How do people listen to this day in and day out? When I first moved to Chicago, my clock radio was set on this frequency from my previous city of residence. The one positive I can say about THA MIXXX is that as soon as I heard the inanity, I would bolt out of bed to turn the radio off. So, thanks Eric & Kathy, for making sure that I started my day with a fright and great annoyance but, at least, I got out of bed promptly.

I hope the local personalities are enjoying show time while they can, as less than a month, Dave Eanet will be retuning with another season of Northwestern Football, then basketball once their season gets going, then Chicago Bears will return for another season, which meats the return of Hamp and O'B doing their pre and post game shows, and once Chicago Blackhawks start their season, plus they will be picking up Chicago White Sox's games when they come in conflict with the Chicago Bears games. And then picking up The Verdict with Ted Cruz, is WLS AM or The Answer too busy to be the Chicago radio affiliate for the show on Sunday nights to air it? Ted Cruz has to be spreading Republican lies, and making Donald Trump sound like the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Chicago is diving into the live feed mix with a wonderful new feed called CHIRP. This independent online station has brought together a wonderful group of men and women whose musical repertoire is simply astonishing. From small unheard bands to some classic but seldom played tracks these deejays truly give you a listening experience worthy of your appreciation. With no commercials or meaningless chatter, CHIRP is my new at home listen.

I like that they read my mind. (Or my reviews?!) LOL anyway all I know is that felt really cool that that song came on. And, as always, I'm still a devoted listener. Music has come to mean even more to me over the last couple of years and so WLS means even more than ever. I like it that they changed up their commercial (ads) content recently to some new businesses...it's nice hearing something different in the ads.

They always play Outfield "Your Love", Billy Joel "Piano Man" ,Survivor "Eye of the Tiger", Pat Benatar "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", etc, etc week after week.....same format. Can you mix it up a little please?....For example these same artists have cool songs like...Outfield "All The Love", Pat Benatar "Treat me Right, All Fired Up".
