Perhaps this is harsh, however I shall not be going back, ever again. I showed up for my…read moreappointment three minutes late I called eight minutes earlier to inform them I was having difficulty finding parking. I get there and wait an hour while nothing to do with my hair happens, I sip on a beverage and have my coat removed from me. The cut and style I can not falt and inch off the bottom, and straight. The colour, and service is abysmal. I'm looking up hairdressers now to get it fixed, four appointments there and every time I'm assured that next time the colour will be fixed, £400 down the hole and days of my life I will never get back. Ordinarily I'm seen and abandoned to other clients, but never before colour or bleach has been applied. The colour I have is patchy due to the lack of foils, care, knowledge or attention. Tbh I think they should be ashamed. They talk a good talk, but aren't capable to walk the walk. Avoid.

Blow drying is another matter- they can be aggressive in how they handle hair and I have left with hair that is wet at the back and needed straightening My main objection is how they deal with pricing! I called for an appointment and was told the cost would be £38!!!! When I went to pay the stylist charged me £32! Rush seem to want to get as much money as possible from their clients. They suggest that stylists are style directors - but these people are with the salon a very short amount of time and then they leave or are let go! I don't mind paying a fair price for the service and styling. But rush are so cynical with how they deal with customers. Scruffs is an excellent salon and charge £35 with a conditioning treatment included. There is no way that rush should be charging more than that

I went to this gym for three years and thought it was definitely worth the money. The staff are…read morelovely and friendly and there is a fairly good range of classes. It is also one of the most centrally located and prettiest gyms in Cambridge - working out under wooden beams is definitely a plus point. The changing rooms are always clean, with shower gel dispensers in the showers, and they give you a towel on entry which is useful. There are lots of mirrors and two Parlux hairdryers which I loved - much better than some of the college facilities I had. The spa is good, as are the beauty treatments, and you also get a discount at the River Bar and Kitchen, which does great cocktails and ok-ish food. However, the reason I didn't give The Glassworks more stars is that the gym itself didn't match up to the other facilities. The repeat offenders here were the treadmills; I think there was one that was stuck only going up to a certain level the entire time I was a member. The bikes also always seemed to have kinks, and every now and then the sound would go on the headphone slot. And don't get me started on the tvs - there was either a problem with the tuning or they would all be playing sky news - not exactly great to run to. Oh, and last rant - they only had 3 mats for sit-ups/stretching. Not ideal in a busy gym

The Glassworks is unfortunately the only truly central gym in town. Venture a little bit out from…read morethe centre and there are a fair number of alternatives. As a result, the gym itself is very small and quite expensive for what you get. They have basic machines available as well as some weights, but nothing fancy and these are not upgraded frequently (or at all during my 2 years there). The condition of the equipment is also average. These drawbacks are not a big deal if all you want is a basic workout and dont mind paying a bit more for the location. However, the management of the gym are absolutely dishonest in their dealings. During my time with them they charged myself and a few friends (independently) multiple times for services we did not use, or for renewals which we had specifically said we did not want. Approaching them only resulted in a lot of delay tactics and false promises and eventually they stopped responding at all. We gave up trying to get our money back but we would recommend everyone to stay well away!

The weekend appointments are snapped up pretty fast. They have massage chairs and twinkling lights at the basin, and a fun atmosphere every time i've been. They also have a card system so you can get freebies the more times you go (although I have a great knack of failing to pack my card every time!). They also sell a variety of products and offer comprehensive advice on what will suit you best. Great find. It is quite pricey, but show me a hairdresser in the south-east that isn't!

I find Reeds are so friendly, the reception girls are always friendly and chatty, they never sound stressed out and the atmosphere at the salon is lovely and calming. Have my hair cut and coloured here every 3-4 months, the girls i use do a grand job, im always happy with the results, my colour is always perfect and the cut is great,it lasts until the next time i get it done which is a sign of a great hairdresser. They never cut too much off your hair which some other salons are terrible for. I love the way they treat the customers here, you do feel valued and you get great service and attention. Love the massage chairs and the coffee is great. It is pricey here, but i believe you get what you pay for.
