First impressions: the décor was warm and exotic and the staff were friendly and attentive. I was quickly offered a drink then led into a room to begin the treatments. Following the very thorough salt scrub, the massage took around an hour and a half, maybe a bit less, and was AMAZING. I hadn't realised it would be full-body but the masseuse (Katie) covered head to toe. The face and back massages were particularly good. I left feeling completely destressed and very happy. It is also one of the most centrally located and prettiest gyms in Cambridge - working out under wooden beams is definitely a plus point. The changing rooms are always clean, with shower gel dispensers in the showers, and they give you a towel on entry which is useful. There are lots of mirrors and two Parlux hairdryers which I loved - much better than some of the college facilities I had. The spa is good, as are the beauty treatments, and you also get a discount at the River Bar and Kitchen, which does great cocktails and ok-ish food. However, the reason I didn't give The Glassworks more stars is that the gym itself didn't match up to the other facilities. The repeat offenders here were the treadmills; I think there was one that was stuck only going up to a certain level the entire time I was a member. The bikes also always seemed to have kinks, and every now and then the sound would go on the headphone slot. And don't get me started on the tvs - there was either a problem with the tuning or they would all be playing sky news - not exactly great to run to. Oh, and last rant - they only had 3 mats for sit-ups/stretching. Not ideal in a busy gym

As a result, the gym itself is very small and quite expensive for what you get. They have basic machines available as well as some weights, but nothing fancy and these are not upgraded frequently (or at all during my 2 years there). The condition of the equipment is also average. These drawbacks are not a big deal if all you want is a basic workout and dont mind paying a bit more for the location. However, the management of the gym are absolutely dishonest in their dealings. During my time with them they charged myself and a few friends (independently) multiple times for services we did not use, or for renewals which we had specifically said we did not want. Approaching them only resulted in a lot of delay tactics and false promises and eventually they stopped responding at all. We gave up trying to get our money back but we would recommend everyone to stay well away!

It took approximately 45 minutes, long lasting good quality performance. I also tried their Swedish massage.And would advice everybody to do the same, as Swedish massage, invented in 1700 is still one of the most effective non medical treatment, which relaxes muscles, increases oxigen circulation without affecting heart rate, also it is good stress relief. And it doesn't matter if you suffer with physical or emotiona stress. It works both ways.

I do not like to go to hairdressers at all normally, for the fact that regardless of how much…read moreinformation I give the hairdresser it normally is cut too short to what I want, but it didn't happen in this salon. Before the cut, my hair was a semi straight hair that was up to my lower back with no style to it as I have just been growing it out. From the time I made my appointment to leaving the door, it was approximately an hour, where my hair was; washed, my scalp massaged nicely with shampoo, hair cut and blow dried. The hairdresser asked me what hair cut I wanted, before she sat me down and if I had a photo, which I did have. My main idea was to get my hair to look healthy again, and I think that goal was reached. Overall the service was great and the hairdresser made me feel comfortable throughout the whole appointment. At the end, my hair length was half way down my back, and it now has layers but with no fringe (which is what I wanted), it feels light and looks healthier already.
